I don't see much of anything unless I see it for myself. I don't speak much about the things I don't know. Space to me is lonely and deadly however it doesn't mean that I don't want to see photos and try to understand our existence. I am skeptical of the atom and the molecule.
They spend less than a 1/2 cent on the dollar. They spent more on A/C in Iraq and Afghanistan for the troops than NASA. This science can have huge implications for all of us. If we do not lead then we will just follow everyone else. We need to lead in science since we dont make anything. If we loose this we wont have ANYTHING left.
it's the politicians actually. George Bush for example... what the hell did he do actually? "I believe Man and Fish can coexist together." -- quote of the year. I just failed to understand why do they need to waste billions for Iraqi invasion or Afghanistan war. I agree with President Obama's movement. Place a team of Recon and get Osama bin Laden... not sending the entire armada and kill millions of innocents.

@CashCreep Because it's much less important. What "real" uses are there to knowing about the magnetosphere of Jupiter ? In any case none that will affect our daily lives for the foreseeable future.
@CashCreep indeed. too bad we don't have the drive that they used to have in times past. in the 60s, kennedy said he was making landing a man on the moon by the end of the decade a matter of national importance and it was done. additionally, the money was provided to actually make that vision a reality. with the current round of regressive political rhetoric in washington, i don't see that coming even near happening.
@CashCreep I find this comment rather amusing, maybe because it has so many thumbs up. If you look at the astronaut corps, you'll find that half of them are in the military... ;)
i thought there WAS no actual ground on jupiter.... hence it being a "gas giant"

How dare NASA spend all this tax payers money at times like these?
America is in so much trouble right now, dragging the world into financial dooms day.
NASA should be shut down and the money should go to help the needy, until such time that the usa is not in debt anymore. Space program first!

While watching this, I had a thought. Can we harvest energy from asteroids?
ryryryryryryryy 7 months ago
@ryryryryryryryy If you collide it with something, it releases TONS of energy so, crushing it in a chamber may work. I am not sure.

Lots of countries would try to directly attack "America" (I think you mean the U.S., right?).
I know it might look sad and bad, but it is necessary.
