Try to see soome docs about Sonic 2 and Rom dumps of Sonic 2 and the common and altered Sonic 2 for emulators on an Hex Editor, and see what I am talking (use Cygnus Hex Editor, simple and perfect)
Your night green hill gives me something else: the names of the game programmers (written in Japanese Kanji) when "Sonic Team Presents" and when Green Hill starts: Ashura.
That´s so good! I like to use the original hardware and Game Genie because of this, you can transform the game to another kind and change the experience with it.
They don´t do anything... I made the code to show these unknown icons that the game had, the "S" monitor already exist in Sonic CD, it give the power sneakers + invicibility, maybe that idea was from Sonic 1 and used on Sonic CD later... (look for CD sonic 510 beta to see the S monitor)
