Isa 61:3 in context, refers to the centuries of Israel's suffering, & if you go back to Isa 60:19-20, we see that Isaiah's prophetic vision is of the New Jerusalem following the Millennium (see Rev 21:23 & 22:5) where they will have the Lord as an everlasting light....the Beauty that replaces their mourning in sackcloth & ashes. Love that you used that text though. You're using your talents in service to the Lord. Amen, Sis! Beautiful soap with a special meaning & funny that lye came from ashes.
That is an outstanding soap. I have used charcoal a few time and I've found that the charcoal absorbs some of the scent and the scent ends up being far more subtle than the original formula (in my case essential oils). I think it is the nature of the charcoal.
Your soaps are gorgeous, as usual. But my heart is full from the reference to Is 61:3 "beauty for ashes". How wonderful to be reminded that God can bring about beauty from waste/destruction/consumption.
Beauty for ashes-that soap could be intended to be a blessing for one or many who are going through tough times in their life, maybe that's why God put that on your heart! He works in mysterious ways, He gifted you with soaping as your passion, & we feel good getting handmade soap. Sometimes it comes at the perfect time for someone who is struggling with life issues-it's happened to me! I pray over every batch of soap that I make, that my soaps will bless users-God knows who and when. :-) Mel
I am so excited to try your soap, can't wait to get my package. I love how you came up with the name for your rose and charcoal soap, so beautiful. The satsuma soap sounds wonderful too. Have a great weekend Hun =)
