Dekalb County School System in Atlanta allowed bullies to bully me without doing anything to them. When I acted out they expelled ME. They RUINED my life by ignoring the problem and allowed those bullies to stay in school without ANY punishment. THIS IS THE SAME SCHOOL SYSTEM who just had a student commit suicide. i was bullied 2 to 6 grade because i was special ed. when i went to 7 grade i was very shy because i felt like i was the stupid one and didn't deserve friends(i wasn't in special ed classes anymore), then i met some one to this day who i can say is my best friend in the whole world, i'm a 9 grader now and working my hardest to prove that just because your a special ed you CAN make it and i get angry to see kids that don't have these disabilities dont even try.

Ellen is a lesbian, because her step dad tried to molest multiple times. He got violent with her while her mom was sick in the hospital with breast cancer. He tried to knock down her bedroom door. She climbed out her window to her friends. She never told anyone about this, because her mom was sick, and she didn't want to stress her out.
Ellen has a certain temperament that developed a subconscious or internal fear for her step dad, and then generalized it onto all men. In her case, treatment of the unnatural vice that she developed after these incidents would include her dealing with her fear of her step father, perhaps confronting him and letting him cower, or telling him what she thinks. After this, she would no longer fear the coward step dad, and her fear for men would of disipated.

They let people who want help come to them. when i went to school i was bullied for being in a special ed program. thanks to my mom i learned to be strong and not let those kids affect who i am. Parents should teach their kids to respect all people and treat them the way they would want to be treated in return. Change starts at home and there is never a place for violence or discrimination!

I was also bullied pretty badly although it never got violent. In fact, the same kids who were bullying me in 7th grade were my friends by 9th grade. My senior year of highschool I was made fun and teased and harrased about many different things, little did anyone know that I was in a very unhealthy relationship with my boyfriend at the time, he raped me, abused me and took over my mind mentally and made me his puppet. Dekalb County School System in Atlanta allowed bullies to bully me without doing anything to them. When I acted out they expelled ME. You "figured someone practicing the lifestyle" like me would only disprove of NARTH due to the "homosexual lobby". Oh boy. A whole lot of assumptions going on there. Who says I "practice the lifestyle"? What does that even mean? My sexuality is only a small part of my "lifestyle". Who I am is not defined by my sexual orientation. You generalize quite a bit. I disagree with NARTH (not because of lies or propaganda) but because find their "scientific" evidence less than satisfactory.

Ellen: Anytime someone takes their own life it is sad. Young people have been commiting suicide for centuries. They all do it for different reasons none which are justified in the eyes of God. Many don't believe that there is a God therefore setting themselves up for low self-esteem making themselves vurnerable to mean spirited people. There is no man made law that will ever make sin acceptable. If you are a follower of faith you can only pray for the hearts of people to change and look to God.

Thank you Ellen :'( I almost killed myself 3 years ago....it was 6th grade....Why can't kids just get used to kids who are gay, different, another race, smart, or anyone in general...Now I'm strong but kids are mean to the person I love most (my best-friend) because she's Japanese. when i went to school i was bullied for being in a special ed program. thanks to my mom i learned to be strong and not let those kids affect who i am. Parents should teach their kids to respect all people and treat them the way they would want to be treated in return. Change starts at home and there is never a place for violence or discrimination!

@jlatifmu...good for you and your mom. And I agree--parents should teach their kids to respect everyone but of course we know that's not always the case. I was also bullied pretty badly although it never got violent. In fact, the same kids who were bullying me in 7th grade were my friends by 9th grade. Personally I think we're raising a generation of irresponsible softies by blaming others for our choices and crying when someone makes fun of our zits. Adversity in life is a social reality.

Schools will never do anything about bullying, the bullies are the jockes and the A's kiss ass students, they never will punish them. When a kid makes a "hit list" because he/she can't take it anymore, they are the ones who get into trouble and NOTHING is done about why it came to that!

My senior year of highschool I was made fun and teased and harrased about many different things, little did anyone know that I was in a very unhealthy relationship with my boyfriend at the time, he raped me, abused me and took over my mind mentally and made me his puppet. He even left me sitting in the freezing cold in the corner of a park for two days without coming back for me or anything. i was this close to taking my life and had no one to talk to
