Thats 70.3MPH now UNOFFICIAL anyway but 68.9 is still pretty sweet bob for the OFFICIAL one lol!! Can't wait til next year bob keep up the good work!!
awesome job this year bob! cant wait to see what you pull out of your sleeve for next years races. we had a blast spending time with you and your wife this year. hope next year is just as good! take it easy.
Nice job bob on the motor.... that thing flew that day at rockland and i can't wait to see it go faster!! Man rockland is just about the best place to watch the races right on the break water where we were and right on the finish line too......well bob thanks for posting this and i hope it breaks another speed record!!
Nitrous who the hell who even do that? thats not good for the motor anyway taking a chance on blown motor! And who isn't happy about what and there is always someone crying or not happy about something!! Can't wait til this season starts so we can here more people crying about nothing lol!! And who is being confident about anything...the only one that seems confident is you racelover saying there will be a new sheriff in town!!
I guess I will swallow my foot you guys don race in a class that doesn't have real lobsterboats. I went off a little half cocked. Too much beer. I think we have all figured out who we are anyway
You must be talking about Bruce junior. He is not the sole owner/operator of the boat, and that boat doesn't go lobstering. You are right class D is pretty much for those guys, but there should be a diesel Boat builders class for the non-lobstering "race" boats. Don't get me wrong I like watching fast boats. Racelover 13 you obviously know racing you know the guys that I am talking about that don't go lobstering but race.
It is hard to keep track of the horse power people have verse what they say they have. It is up to the the guy signing up to race to be honest about what the motor is putting out. Take the Venom for example. He races in the 235 to 335 hp class but beats boats that have 300 hp by half the track.
Do you know how to read, I said "I say bring back the Boatbuiders class let them race in that." Read the whole comment buddy. If they bring back the boatbuilders class the trust funds and fat wallets can still race and leave the working man alone.
some of the working men still have fat wallets alot of the guys racing certain classes should be in a diffrent classes but they get away with their bigger injectors fuel pumps or computer chips and the faster hull losses because of it. its not hull vs. hull in any class any more its money vs. money
so you want everyone to go back to boring working lobster boats and race them and how many people do you really think would come like a big fat 0 lol well maybe 5 people lol boats like the foolish pleasure, underdog, is what brings people in to the races and to watch not some 10mph big boat that can't get out of his own way lol...i would not go at all if that were the case bring on the speed!!!
I don't see how Gaylon, Bruce Engert, or any of those guys that don't go lobstering for a living can be proud of themselves. They are taking prizes from working lobsterman that don't have a chance against the big wallets. I say bring back the Boatbuiders class let them race in that. Give the guy that lobsterboat racing is about a chance.
harborfire, did you bump your head ? Bruce started seining herrin for sardines back in 84. He spent 2 years gill-netting in Stonington, dragged for groundfish on several boats, trapped and dragged for shrimp and offshore/inshore lobster too! He just got back from Rhode Island injured, where he fished on a boat featured on DEADLIEST CATCH/LOBSTER WARS fishing the Bank, Basin and Caynons. Always finished in top 3 in Trap Hauling Contest and has been on the cover on National Fishermen July, 1991 !
