Just a little tip here: As soon as you are on the ground, kill the motor and give the elevator a little backpressure to push the tail down... Keeps it from ground looping or cart wheeling...:)
Nice flight. i had the same nose heavy tendency on landings at first so i bent the landing gear towards the nose. it worked well. its nice that the engine doesn't cut out all together when the batt dies. it cuts in and out so you can make it back around for the emergency landing. are you guys thinking about adding flaps? if so post the video!
MrCliff, Thank you for your post. Not only is Scott adding flaps but also retracts. He's posting pics of all mods on RC Groups under "turbonut" check it out.
awsome .. can you tell us what the selected diameter and pitch is for the two blade prop .also did it come with skids for belly landing or do you think they intend for this to ba a flown from paved surface only aircraft .. i cant see it being very good from grass after the landing gear doing the herky jerk during taxi on pavement .. but i plan on flying mine with no gear skids or not .. thanks for the good look at her
12x12 is the two blade prop. Not sure weather there will be skids, We did fly it without landing gear (Scott behind the sticks) and had a very nice belly landing. I'm still working on the vid.
Yes it is, you most definitely have to change the landing gear to rubber wheels. I wouldn't say "dodgy" it has approx. the same speed as a stock t-28 or corsair. Now changing the prop. to a two blade that will give better performance. Thanks for your comment.
Ps. I like the name (dumbthumbs) we all have one or two lol
Thanks hehe. I just dumbthumbed my home made foamy into the ground today..grr! The jury is still out on this one for me but thanks for posting a video of it. It has sure generated a lot of interest!

The landings look good coming down on the mains.

Does it fly like the trojan?

Yes it does, and the landings are more like the corsair. All in all its a great flying airplane.
