@davrotc To make it clear - German losses on Eastern front were about 4 millions of killed or missed in action (not counting Romanians, Hungarians, Italians, etc). Soviets lost 7 millions soldiers in combat, plus 3 millions more died in German captivity. So combat loss ratio is not even 2 to 1. Numbers after reasearch done by Rudiger Overmans, accepted by most historians as closest to truth. In other estimations Soviet combat losses differ from 6,5 to 8 million. Never close to 3 to 1.
@Florek112 Ok fair enough, but according to G.I. Kiroshev, a Russian historian, Axis KIA AND MIA was 4.8 mil, total russian was 10.5 KIA and MIA, not including any partisan deaths. Total Russian deaths civilian and military, 15.7. That number in itself is a very conservative estimate, as many other historians, a notable one being David Glantz, puts it closer to 20 million. Though perhaps not 3:1, there is still a huge differences even with a conservative estimate involved.

But most of POW's taken in Operation Bagration, Kurland, Eastern Prussia, Crimea, came back home. Why count it as a Soviet disadvantage?
