saw these guys play wayyyy back in a coffee shop show. place was so packed my friend went outside and danced in front of the store window when these guys played. so good every time i have seen them play.

There is some just something so real about Living Sacrifice and their sound. As many amazing Christian metal bands as their are right now, they almost seem manufactured by comparison. It's as if these guys were pulled out of a halfway house in hell by Jesus.

I believe LS was the first Christian metal band that was death metal and part of the scene back in the early 90's and late 80's that laid down the foundations for all hardcore music today. An killswitch engage? They don't even call themselves a Christian band. With LS they proclaim it. But your def right about Stryper.
Actually, fact 1 is not true. Living Sacrifice did not exist until 1989. Sacred Warrior and Stryper co-created the Christian metal scene around 1983-1984. A year later, Deliverance became the first Christian thrash band. If anything, Living Sacrifice and Zao inspired the Christian metalcore movement as early as 1996.

Saw them live for the first time in 2010

Actually, fact 1 is not true. Living Sacrifice did not exist until 1989. Sacred Warrior and Stryper co-created the Christian metal scene around 1983-1984. A year later, Deliverance became the first Christian thrash band. If anything, Living Sacrifice and Zao inspired the Christian metalcore movement as early as 1996.

@XtianFreak I feel like Stryper and LS had the most influence and took the most heat as early Christian bands in both the heavy metal scene (LS) and glam/80's metal (Stryper) but thats just my opinion and I am biased because Stryper and LS were the first Christian bands that I ever got into but yeah bottom line both Stryper and LS are two of the greatest metal/rock bands in the Christian music scene ever

i still dont get why Living Sacrifice is labeled as metalcore. They are in no way, shape or form a metalcore band. They are legend. i mean they are no underground extreme metal band but they are not commercial either.

@MrMetalhead61 too bad none of those bands are metal. core and deathcore does not count. there is a big difference between death metal and deathcore. Also metalcore and actual metal. A lot of metal make use of clean vocals and dont use the harsh vocals. aka power metal, heavy metal and other various subgenres.
