This song and NO PRETTIES just send me. Wire Train was a terrific Post Punk band who just couldn't break thru. It's too bad because, other than Murmur, musically they trounce REM. It is considered the Quest for the Holy Grail to score their first two CDs. Rino should re-issue them!!!
Great band, but WT just couldn't break thru to the top 10 or 25 for that matter....this was their departure (song) album from the dance driven 80's sound they had. Hunter's ego stood in the way of the band going on to much bigger success. The more balanced minded and creative guitarist J. Trott should have had more control in the songwriting. In fact it was Trott who ended up the most successful of the group as he became the multi Grammy winner Sheryl Crow's co writer on many of her top 10 hits.
omg! i just remembered when i first came to knowing this band when i scanned thru my dads stuff and found their cd!this was one of my favs...just hearing it brings back old memories...:)
God, Kevin looked so great at this stage. I wanted to get my hands in that hair so badly, lol ;o) I just loved this song's vibe and the lyrics...they started to transition on this album. Jeff Trott is in this version of the band...went on to play with Pete Droge and then Sheryl Crow.

@petecole Yeah, but I mean permanently! Or, at least a comeback album and tour.

Amazing song. I wish they'd get back together. They could probably attract some lable attention.
