  • watashi ai kaki! Not tell me people did i say it right.

  • Loving your trick! For a very long time ive been either omitting or confusing Ki (Key)but from your trick, i`ll always remember it and same goes for i ( Tracing of a circle). Thanx.

  • YAY すし

  • Excuse me, I already know かき has a lot of meanings but what does this 書き mean?

  • @1994dannylee 書きます is the polite form of 書く (かく) or 'to write'. 書き is the stem form of 書きます ( ます form of verbs = polite) and is only used grammatically.

  • @pickl3dpurpl3 Oh i see, so this かく means to write. And yes, I understand both the meaning and the usage of ます. But still, thank you very much! 本当にありがとう! ^ ^

  • 1:34 "it kinda looks like a key" LOL

  • now i know how to say evil!

  • this is so random but if u say kako in greek it means evil XD

  • what's IKE? Pound?

  • @KarolSalvatore2010 it's pond!! :D sorry

  • What is kaki? Persimen? I heard it wrong.

  • @iKUSTAN18 I think that she said: "persimmon"

  • @KarolSalvatore2010 Oh. Thank you :)

  • I like this as well as my android app.. I learn this first on the app BUT although it shows me the both hiragana and katakana .. its only the PRINT way.. so when i saw eg.. き when i printed a practice sheet I was confused.. lol the app is good for learning the stroke order.. .. but in the printing way instead of the writing ways.. :( lol

  • what is it "kaki"???

    i can't hear it(

  • I didn't got it.. can someone say me the letters in the order she drew them? - .-"

  • I thought ki looked like a face.

  • why in japanese do you write up to down instead of left to right?

  • what means "i ka"???????i cant hear it

  • @pampermanneke "ika" is "squid" :)

  • @japanesepod101 arigatou gozaimasu

  • Wah! What happened to the English subtitles?! Like in the 1st lesson. It's actually more difficult this way. I don't know what Aki (あき) means in English. I don't want to write down what I think I'm hearing because I may be wrong. Grrrrr!!!

  • ありがとうございます

  • first lesson was good , you have written english allso with, but in this lesson no english, it is little hard to understand your english pls write down english also, like you did for "station"

  • please put the transcript back on :((((((((((

  • This is actually really fun.! ;D

  • arigato!!!! ;)

  • Konbanwa. Watashi wa kako nihongo!

    right? ^^

  • I HAVENT WATCH this video finish. Can you tell me -if you know- can you tell me what is "Zu" in japan word?

  • arigatou gazaimasu. you are very kind. im practising japanese. anata wa shinsetsu. did i get it right? but thank you very much!

  • That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, 「き」 looks nothing like a Key even when you try your trick.

I know you're trying to be cleaver, but it's very lame -.-

I can tolerate the corniness of 「簡単カナ」, a pun on "katakana", but that "key" shit was too ridiculous.

  • I remember ki the most easily and also write it a lots of time, now I found out I'm always wrong

  • For those of you who were wondering, yes, you have to write the characters in the same order, for it is already set like that.

Also, I like to picture き(ki), when it is handwritten, as a cool smiley face with sunglasses :D

  • hey i was woundering could you put two of these words together and it make sense like if you put aku and ika together would it make evil squid ? or would that not work :) thanks vids are amazing and really easy

  • @andrew927981 when it is printed it is like き but when it is written it is like the video :)

  • OMG!!!! i've been writing "ki" wrong this whole time!!! NOOO!!!

  • tienes que escribir cada kana es un orden o puedes escribirlo tu manera??

  • @dinobublz tienes que escribirlo tal cual te indican

  • @thesoundoffriends *sniff*

  • lol im actually learning all the kana first then moving on to words but this like a head start xDDDD

  • It is much more efficient to have K and use it with a,e,u,i instead of having ka,ke,ki,ku as different signs.

What if you want to end a word with simply sound K? What do you do then?

    You just can't.

  • it looks like a key?

  • would it be best to learn how to reaad and write japanese first or learn how to speak it first

  • Its make me feel want learn more.. thanks ;D

  • the word at 2:14 is hard to understand. something like "persimmon"? ^^

so the fruit ... but also oyster? (^_^)'>

  • i need subtitles like the last one

  • Do you have to pay after lesson 8? If so may pay for it

  • @DarkDFlame If you go to our site, yes, you will need at least a Basic subscription to access the later lessons of Kantan Kana (as well as our whole lesson archive!).

  • Thank you so much for this lessons

  • is it imp to write kana vertically?......coz i hv been writing it in horizsontal order....

    which 1 is more common?

  • What does kaki means??

  • @xXalyluvterukiXx It means Oyster

  • Thankyou so much for these useful lessons! it must feel really good to be able to speak japanese aswell as english, i hope to become fluent in japanese in the future because i'd love to live in tokyo! so thankyou for these, they are really easy to follow and understand!

    I don't understand..

  • @estherbunnyful

    I think it's "squid" :D

  • are the words usually written that way? the "ka" over the "ko" is past? or can you put them next to eachother?

    Arigato gozaimasu

  • @naomi7289 dno, maybe its just like the way they do all the fancy writing in paint which dusnt look the sme as it wood wen u write it in cursive or shorthand

  • ARIGATOU GOZIMASU!!! Chihiro-sensei, your videos are awesome!! I've learned a lot an I'm becoming better at the writing!! :D

  • are the stroke orders in hiragana set (like have to be in that order) like in mandarin? like for example, spelling "ka".. in mandarin it's your second stroke first (in the video), then your first stroke (in the video).. like do i have to follow the orders if in japanese hiragana? thanks :D

  • @akh183 Yes, each hiragana character has its own stroke order, and if you follow them, you will find them easier to write!

  • some are like chinese haha

  • aku means evil, right?

  • can you write fast with hiragana and katakana ,because, I can't?

  • I often find books/articles which are written in furigana, but find it very difficult to read, because unlike the English language it does not tell me where one word ends and the next one starts - can you help please. • I can't really afford to upgrade on the site I signed up but I really want to learn. If I get the basic grammar rules and the alphabet you think I'll be set Chihiro? By the way your english is great :D.

  • Thank you very much for this ^_^! It's also fun when you hear words that you have in your own langue. It's rare but still fun :)

  • ive noticed that your writing up to down, but im learning this because im gone buy pokemon white from japan, and i need no know at least how to read it, and its written left to right.. so i have a few questions.

1: is what you teaching me no able to be written up and down and left to right?

2: what is kanji, and is it written up and down or left to right.

3: i often confuse え and い, but i have the first 5 characters sondue like voules, so would one of these too be "i" and the other "e"?

  • @amvmasterofdark 1. Japanese can be written both up and down and left to write. Books and magazines are usually written up and down, but the text in video games is usually written left to right.
