  • Electric motors are much more efficient and much more powerful than gas engines.

That's a fact. Don't even argue that dummy.

  • They see me rollin'.. They're hatin :)

  • electric motors can be pretty powerful

  • is there a website that shows how i could make this step by step? Man im 17 but dam would love to whip an electric car instead of a gasoline car

  • isnt that an areil atom?

  • don't really care who won.would still choose the internal combustion engine simply for the that beautiful sound! Doesn't matter if it's the fastest, most agile car in the world, it's boring without any sound. Especially for any spectators watching the race. Kinda like watching a concert on tv while it's muted.

  • Obviously I'm stating facts here, but some people just think that if they plug-in their car they're saving the planet....

  • And how clean do you think your electricity is exactly? U.S. is mostly producing power from coal power plants, as China is... Electric cars research is fine but it should come along with research on clean energy production. And even solar energy, with its current dirt-bottom efficiency is nowhere clean due to high manufacturing Co2 emissions and short life-span. And we're nowhere near clean energy as long as it's not cheap and efficient as well as clean.

  • @jeremiech A whole lot of US, EU and UK policy is "out of sight out of mind". And anyway, On a watt per watt basis, it would be more efficient to add more power stations to produce xxx watts extra to power every car. If as an example we worked the other way around, and powered all our homes and offices with individual petrol engines then pollution would be epicly bad!

  • @kal9001 I didn't look at it in that way. Thanks for the enlightment :)

  • now they need to make an rc car like that

  • well the electric car may be faster but the ferrari sounds way cooler. (infact i bet you can hardly hear the electric car at all lol)

  • 1. That electric car is not likely street-legal.

    2. The electric car is lighter, which would be a big advantage even if it was a gas powered car (see: Lotus)

    3. Electric cars will always do better on short distances, because the power of the electric motor is immediately available, whereas a gas powered engine has to build up to full power. But on a longer race a more powerful car will overtake the electric car.

I'm all for electric cars, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

  • @123gwf How about Hydrogen electric? OO BAMN

  • THIS IS NOT AN ELECTRIC CAR. It's an Ariel Atom. It has a V8 engine and eats just as much gas as the porsche and the ferarri. The reason that it is so fast is because it iss so light.

  • @WeBashPeople The engine is just taken out and replaced by a motor and batteries.

  • Is the electric car the Arial Atom?

  • @timothy1573 The car is a one-off prototype, a Wrightspeed X1 built on an Ariel Atom frame, with an all-electric drivetrain.

  • Anyone ever heard of electrolysis? Hydrogen CAN be the way forward WITHOUT big companies. You put water in an electrolysis engine and it separates the molecules, with the only byproduct being fresh oxygen.

  • Ok ask me this, where does electricity come from? Air? Water? I think you will find it's from plants that often set fire to coal and oil. Back to square one, isn't it? Hydrogen is the way forward even if it still involved companies making profit.

  • They have to get the charging time down to max. 10 minutes OR make exchangable batteries. The first option is not possible with current battery technology but the second one is perfectly possible right now.

Imagine driving to a "former gas station" with an automatic battery swapping machine, the machine could change your battery within 2-3 min.

Of course the current infrastructure had to be changed accordingly but it`s doable.

  • i bet the ferrari has a hotter chick

  • To charge this car would take about 2 hrs if you plugged it into your house.

If everyone went to EV's instead of gas, the grid wouldn't be able to handle the demand because the grid relies on fossil fuels. But, here's the big but, if every person had to buy a wind turbine as part of their mortgage. You wouldn't need 1 power plant. If you're forced to configure your house to use less energy, you wouldn't need so much power to use it. In the end. The future is exciting.

  • Great video. Now get a car that is built for the quarter mile like the electric car. Either that or run the electric against both of these for top speed. Both the Ferrari and porch are built for speed. Not the quarter.

  • that not an electric car is an arial atom

  • @eduardocillo You are very dumb. Just because the styling is similar doesn't make it an Ariel Atom 1 or 2. It doesn't make it a KTM Crossbow. It's still an electric car.

  • @IdThat ok thanks for the help

  • A lot of people going on about how you can't match power/weight of an ICE, but lets face it, this is basically a motorcycle with 4 wheels. With either of the ICE cars, you get a roof....

Compare that electric car apples to apples (Ariel Atom, KTM Xbow), and you get a car that is just as fast (0-60 is 2.8s, vs 4.3s for the modena, 3.6s for the gt) for 1/3 the cost

  • Suck it, Ferrari!

  • the atreail atom is unatractie and its not eletric my dream car is a ferrari 430 suderna becuse its as sexy as hell and super fast

  • If I get my hands on Electric Car i would drive it ALLLLLLL day --- n thats 1 Long day ----

Without Worrying about Spending half of my Salary on Patrol or Gas -----

Guys can you imagine how much FREE we can become by using Electric Cars

imagine never pay high Cost of Patrol

never to change Engine Oil + Filter

never Worry about so many Engine parts breaking down

never Worry about Carbon Monoxide Poisoning + Pollution (how many ppl. die in USA just by Carbon Monoxide poisoning)

  • Sorry friends but you will never outperform an electric vehicle with an internal combustion engine. That's just physics. At least at the low end of the speed spectrum. People have this perception that electric vehicles are gutless when just the opposite is true. It's power to weight ratio is vastly superior and delivered to the wheels with virtually no loss. A well designed electric car is mind numbingly fast. Unfortunately they sound like a vaginas on Prozac.

  • Excellent video. See my channel electric motor new design.

  • How much did the Ferrari and the elec. Car cost lets see if I can get one before school starts

  • @wildestwesty yah me too but what I really want is a hydrogen powered hovercraft you see I made a hovercraft but use a simple leaf blower as a power source but it only flys about 2 inches of the ground

  • id rather have a hydrogen powered V8 anyday

  • the bugati veyron wuld blow the frame off theat pile of shit

  • @MsCrappants veyron is great in a straight but lacks handling of any of these cars

  • Maybe we might have a hydrogen reactor inside to produce alot of power lol, nuclear fission :D

  • @quangluu96

If you had a miniaturized fission reactor as your engine, the driveshaft and all of its companions would shatter from the amount of energy.

  • Have fun getting in a crash with that thing. I think I'd rather take the Ferrari.

  • stupid ICE got owned

  • car has a turbo how is this an electric car ??????//

  • since when is an ariel atom electric?

  • new cars and electric cars fail up with the old cars

  • It's an Ariel Atom

  • ...Wait a minute... That electric car looks sooooo much like the ATOM. And the Atom has a Honda Engine that eats up Gas too...

    watch?v=WaWoo82zNUA

  • an electric car has 2 weak points - battery weight and charge time, but if it had as many years of research and development as a cars with internal combustion engines had, nobody would even think about buying any car but electric...

  • What a rip off! Dont get me wrong, electric cars is the awsome and the futur but is an Arial with an electric motor and this fact is not told in the video.

  • i might be wrong that looks like an arial atom thats made in britian

  • @xMcgamer3oh3x They used the shell but you can tell by the sound of the motor it's not petrol powered. :)

  • the ariel atom is NOT electric

  • horrible microphone hurts my ears. made great cars sound like kitchen appliances.

  • Keep pressing 2 and then you'll see the car drifting and the guy saying fail fail!

  • Why do people find this so hard to believe? You can always produce an electric car that beats out a gas car. Electric motors can always have more torque. The fact that we have to use heat engines in our cars is retarded. They're about 20% efficient at best, have hundreds more moving parts, all to produce movement as a by product of the heat it generates.

  • @seacoastauto its cause its hard to store electric energy

  • Great vehicle!

By the way see also the latest video of the electric powered Zerotracer.

ZerotracerEpisode "Around the World with Zero Emmissions!"

  • still I dont believe it, all BS.... its all arranged, anyway I love electric cars but this is unreal...

  • i bet with all the trillions of dollars they gots... we couldve had a shit load of eletric cars made, that doesnt really cost shit to power up. i think they just hold it back to keep fighting that dam war.

  • The ladder on wheels wins again!

  • This is fucking retarded. A bare, stripped-down frame vs. a Ferrari. Huge weight difference. Strip that Ferrari down and watch it blow the doors off that electric pile of shit.

  • thats a arial atom which isnt electric its power by a motor bike engine and can get from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds

  • @BabyyiThaliaeo960 No one cares. Kill yourself.

  • Oil companies will get a smack on the face soon enough!

  • mobil listrik ato mobil ferrari....yg penting hrus bisa jalan...klo ga bisa...y udah mending naek angkot aje...

  • Petrol end is near...

  • Electric car? It looks suspiciously like an Atom to me. With electric cars you have charge them up at the plug (which get their energy from power stations that pollute anyway) and you get about 50 or maybe 100 miles max before you have spend another 16 hours charging it up again. That's why electric cars don't, have never and will never work in the real world. Hydrogen is the way forward.

  • Go electric. Hydrogen is just another way to end up with an elite few controlling the many.

  • @worshiptheriff I don't quite agree. If we use one of those filter things that turns water into Hydrogen and Oxygen we can run cars with electricity, using hydrogen to create it. And only by using water.

  • @RaccooNooB The storage of hydrogen is expensive and heavy. :(

  • @MrVTECKiller As I said. Water. It ways less then gas and doesn't explode like a big hydrogen tank would. Although it would have to be destilled water. Otherwise the salt and other things in water would clog it.

  • @RaccooNooB Could you provide a link? From what I understand it takes a ton of energy to separate Hydrogen from Oxygen.

  • @MrVTECKiller Well I my self could make my own hydrogen at home with an AAA battery. It's a slow proces with that little power but with something like a car battery you could make it a lot faster. Try strapping 2 wires from the + and - and stick them into a glass of water. (add a tiny bit of salt for faster effect) the water should begin to bubble. Make sure to have something like a small tube or simular to capture the bubbles. (the tube being water-filled and upside down is the best way)

  • @worshiptheriff You are COMPLETELY right. If we can swap a battery for longer trips and/or charge at home each night while we sleep for regular commuting we will save PLENTY of money.

There is just one reason Oil Companies spend money to try to stop electric cars - PROFIT.

  • @worshiptheriff hydrogen is produced with electricity, just sayin.

  • @CrossyCriss hydrogen is much more expensive, explosive, inefficient, energy consuming than batteries.

  • @leerman22 well, you still have to produce electricity, hydrogen is the most available fuel in the universe, and the cleanest.

  • @CrossyCriss nuclear fusion is still beyond human use. Fusion inside a car is pretty much unseeable, and hydrogen fuel cells are expensive and difficult to cold boot. also platinum for the cells is expensive for a reason (its rarer than gold)

  • @leerman22 how would you generate the electricity then?

  • @CrossyCriss r The very moment we can place solar panels on the roof to charge those batteries in a extremely clean process, then use the money we did not spend on gas, on something else, and put that money back into the economy without going though the oil companies, this world will be much better off. Wow! I bet the oil companies will not like that at all. Hence the reason for all the miss information spurring forth in opposition of electric cars.

  • @GSpotter63 yeah, i was actually planning to build something like what you said, with bedini motors, one day i want to be energy self sufficient.

  • @worshiptheriff No, hydrogen and batteries can get their energy from the same place: electricity from the grid. Except hydrogen is very powerful alike gasoline and can be filled in cars very fast (unlike recharging EV's). Also, did you know an Electric Vehicule need to get it's battery replaced every 6-10 years, which costs around 8000$. Where do you dispose of so many batteries filled with nasty chemicals? Hydrogen-powered engines could last much longer than internal combustion engines.

  • why don't they race the electric car against something that is similar size and weight? seems a little unfair.

  • Ahah Ferrari is not nothing compared to the electric car!

  • Gayest commentary ever!

  • fake as hell

  • @iRouRoui That is what they said when the first airplane was built too.... welcome to the future!

  • @iRouRoui how it fake

  • they took apart a perfectly good ariel atom O_O ASSHOLES!

  • I would still drive around in that sick sounding Porsche.

  • Battery tech is really either lagging behind or fuel cells too damn expensive - still, I think the way forward is a non-exotic fuel based fuel cell than can dole out the needed voltage & more importantly, the amps.

Or, we ought to incorporate Ultracapacitors instead of batteries for now.

  • gay

  • @JamaicanBoy41 Really? This isn't the place to come out...

  • @uzernaam Electric cars need to be powered by coal or fossil fuels. They are actually worse polluters than huge SUVs. All in all, they are have less "mpg" than a Volkswagen TDI. The Tesla is 4x more money and just as fast as an Exige. And for reliability, the Tesla breaks down a huge amount of times. The Toyota engine in an Exige is actually a lot more reliable than the ton of acid sitting in a Tesla. Electric is not the way, We should focus on Hydrogen in my opinion, an actual "clean" energy.

  • @FullyNimble

Hydrogen powered cars also are electric only difference is you have a hydrogen tank and fuell cell in place of a battery and you also need electricity to make hydrogen. If you use fossil fuel generated electricity hydrogen cars pollute more because coal>electricity>hydrogen>fuel cell>electricity cycle is less eficient than simply charging and discharging a battery.

  • @FullyNimble You also need electricity to produce hydrogen,by that sentence alone I don't know why you prefer hydrogen over battery electric cars.An hydrogen car is really an electric car that gets electricity by a chemical reaction with oxygen from the air. Another thing,People tend to forget that there are renewable ways of producing electricity, such as Hydro, solar, wind, geo thermic. If you have an electric car, you could charge it at home using solar panels. Could you do that with hydrogen?

  • in some places an electric car causes more pollution because if the place mostly uses coal for energy then with the amount of coal burned to charge the car is worse than the gas.

    so its a win lose

  • that is ariel atom

  • @uzernaam Let’s do 10 rounds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and I beat the electrical wonder with a normal VW GTI.

  • People bitching about this...the vid is almost 5 years old. This technology is growing quickly!

  • @uzernaam eco fag

  • @uzernaam

plenty of headache with the electric motor as well

Hydrogen fuel cells on the other hand are something new, we got one of this babies in our department.

  • yeah obviously.. now put a F1 Gaz Powered Car next to it.. and retry it.

  • @uzernaam well, until they increase the range and improve the time it takes to re-charge the battery, gas will remain king, that is, until the prices get too high

  • Yeah but electric cars can't go 200mph. I think the fastest electric car that made it in to production and that tops out at around 120 I believe.

  • @BobDingle25 The Tesla has a Top Speed of 125 mph but does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.

  • @BobDingle25

Why would you require to drive more than 120 mph?

  • @Spyez Why wouldn't I? I do it at the track all the time... On my motorcycle that is... I can't afford a Ferrari.

  • @BobDingle25

That's stupid. What kind of adrenaline junkie drives more than 120, even if it is on the track? Electric cars are superior.

  • @Spyez Actually I've hit 160. It's funny you say it's stupid cause racing is one of the worlds biggest sports. I do consider myself an adrenaline junkie... Because I like to have fun. Maybe someday you'll experience the thrill.

  • @BobDingle25

I channel my desire for fun in safer ways. However, you should do what you find entertaining, I'm not going to judge.

  • @Spyez Good point.

  • Since when is the Ariel Atom an electric car?

  • @monologuh It is the chassis and body of the Ariel Atom where he put his electric motor in.

He has the advantage of the lightweight tubular frame of the Ariel and the high torque of the electric engine.

It gives him blitz acceleration and keeps the Amps consumption low.

If you want to see electric performance in an old style body look at the White Zombie.(thats a 70's Datsun converted to electricity.)

  • engines require rpms to build torque. Motors do not require such.

  • boring!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no way this vid is a lie

  • This will be awesome to have all these electric cars powered by nuclear power plants...err, ooops.

  • Oil, war, and fear makes obscene amounts of money.

When that is no longer true, electric cars will reign and we'll finally build the 400 nuclear plants needed to completely break america free from oil dependence.

  • @uzernaam Actually you are wrong, gas will break down more then 20x as often as electric.

  • johnson1 but in the long run whats going to be more expensive fixing a whole bunch of electricity or metal? yes gas is bad but we need to watch what we are doing with these electric cars.

  • Thats true killiminuta

  • simple fact.. oil =war..power and money . the government has been keeping electric cars hidden from being mass produced for well over 20 years... the electric motor has been around since the ford model t

  • @killuminati1871 the problem isn't the motor, its the battery. To charge an electric car as you would refil a petrol one would require an electric substation. Even then, the car's range is much shorter... :-| but this will change in future. Electric motors are far more reliable, simpler, cheaper, than gas ones, so in time they will come to dominate. :-)

  • @optimalwebsite im not a HUGE conspiracy guy...but when the day comes that electric cars are as reliable" cheap" and simple" as gas cars the price of electricity will sky rocket to compensate the loss of oil profit... so you really wont save a dime...but then again you will THINK your "saving the environment"

  • @killuminati1871 get a life

  • @killuminati1871

AND u can bet there are elextric motots today available that is atleast!!! 30-50 more effeciant than then :() besides they are pushing forward fast reload batteris for mobile phones that can charge in under 30 second ;) Still not on the market though!

  • @killuminati1871 The availability of motors is not what is preventing electric cars being built

  • @killuminati1871 I wish I could vote up on this over and over.

  • @MrVTECKiller thats man... but its the sad truth

  • The new ferrari 458 italia runs 11.0 in the 1/4 mile. It would beat the X1.

  • Joe Biden claimed that the $862 Billion failed stimulus ($400 remains unspent) “created or saved” 750,000 jobs. Economists don’t recognize jobs saved, and the jobs saved may have been keep local agencies afloat. When the money ran out, the people lost their jobs. Currently States are considering filing bankruptcy for spending. watch?v=IqmeT5ykKf0

The Govt owns 61% of GM, GOOGLE, “GM's electric-car fantasy running out of gas” and read links. The Green Movement should be free market driven

  • Whoooaa!!! Another one bites the dust!!! yeah!!

  • This is a stupid comparison. That electric toy is not a car fitted with standard car fittings. Its weight must be ridiculously small compared to the Ferrari and Porche.

  • @BurntPineapple whos fault is that

  • hi guys, hey pinin500 italian cars also includes fiat, and i can tell you that they are low quality cars so not all italian cars are for drivers ;)

  • Electric car ? thats an Ariel Atom. It isnt electric. it has a proper engine.

  • @WilDeRSkillZ Yes it is the Atom but this one is fitted with a battery and an electric motor. And it runs faster than the thermal one.

  • @notgodsemigod it could be faster than the older one , but i dont think so about the V8 version.

  • Only problem with current electric vehicles? In a longer race between a Ferrari or Porsche and the electric car in this video from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and back, the super cars would take something like.. 8 hours if they followed posted speed limits, while the electric car would take about 3 DAYS because of the short range and long charge time.

  • @alexrowland Renault - the first of the big manufacturers to launch a whole range of EVs - took the decision to invest in electric vehicules when it did a long survey that found out that 88% of drivers drive their cars less than 50km/day, with an average speed of 40km/hr while 90% of the day cars are simply stationed (probably in your private or rented parking or in the parking at work or supermarket). 25% of cars have passed 95% of their kilometric life doing small city distances.

  • @notgodsemigod So they electric car may have a huge market out there. Many among you have more than 1 car in the family. Well, the electric car aims at being that 2nd car, the one you will use to go to work or supermarket. Why would you take your BMW to go to work everyday (and then need to buy a new one every 3-4 years or something)? Why would you risk your beloved car to be scratched in a supermarket parking?... The EV will play that role so that to keep your beloved car for the weekends

  • Based on an Ariel Atom. The guy that made it used to work for Tesla Motors

  • It's not an eletric car fagot, it's an ariel atom, 4 cilinder supercharged 2.0 litre, 300 hp (220 kW) Honda iVTEC engine.

  • @BDEGetlaw

You really have no idea what you are talking about. its a wrightspeed x1 and its based on an ariel atom.

youtube really would be a much better place without pepole like you posting hasty comments and calling pepole fagot.

    i hope this hurts.

  • @BDEGetlaw How could someone this stupid live long enough to learn how to use a computer?

  • A petrol V8 is the best sound in the world....I like the idea of electric transport, save the planet is fine, so long as you tell the Chinese their pollution is killing the planet not bloody car exhaust fumes....Oh..and how much fuel does a jetliner use ? and a diesel train perhaps..easy for the government to take it out on the motorist. nuff said.

  • @fezants lol and how much pollution from China is caused by other countries importing cheap goods from them. Countries claim to have met certain aims in pollution reduction, but if they were to stop importing so much it would be a different story. So who is really at fault? The trains i'm guessing are a lot more efficient than cars? And you are right about jet airliners.

  • i saw one of these on el camino just 30 minutes ago they look so clean

  • @uzernaam HAHAHAHA

  • problem is, you have to let it charge for like 8 hours, after driving 200 km...

  • ok now put a bugatti in there with that little battery powerd car and see who wins

  • I love all cars electric or petroleum powered...

  • Put someone in the Ferrari and Porsche that knows how to drive. If you ride the

clutch long enough you'll lose to just about anything.

  • @soozoo41 Ever heared of the laws of physics? You seem to believe in the "magic of the right driver". Not going to wórk.

  • wtf thats an ariel not an electric car

  • FUTURES GOING TO BE FUCKING INSANE! dinosaur tail carrots, maple syrup ponds, rainbow ant snails everywhere!

  • :O

  • @QuantumQuacks What I was stating about that law of thermodynamics is that no matter how you power a vehicle, the energy is still coming from somewhere. With electric cars you're moving the source of energy from a combustion engine within the car to a power plant. The energy is still coming from somewhere. Imagine your electric bill having to charge a car every so often in the garage. Of course you won't have to pay for gas but the fact is this, the power still has to come from somewhere.

  • @uzernaam I'm not going to argue about you being a teacher or not. This is the internet after all and we can be whatever we want on here. But anyway, electric vehicles aren't emissions free. Nuclear power has the disadvantage of having to deal with radioactive materials. Not exactly emissions free. As for wind or solar power? That technology simply isn't efficient enough to make a significant enough impact. Also I'm not sure where you get the idea that coal is cleaner.

  • @uzernaam Diesel Power!

  • the best part about electric cars is that they dont make noise, u can actually talk during the ride and listen to yourself think...

  • only dumb americans like their polluting complex engines yeah baby suck my pollution my muscle car sucking gallons of irak oil that wer killed for, this is the future baby... time to go to bed usa, youre finished long live solar wind free energy savings good food civilization and peace and on top gov serving ppl, bankers in jail

  • @QuantumQuacks It's an even playing field because everybody can do it. The competition does not prohibit or discourage such techniques of getting votes. In fact, the company that runs the Nissan competition is an ad company!

If it makes you feel better I didn't win :). It's ok though, i took revenge via the nissan leaf polar bear video

  • hi

  • @uzernaam Wah wah wah. Keep whining because you sound just like any other green freak who gets a hard on from listening to the fundamentalist's that are part of this eco bandwagon. If electric is better technology like you claim it is, how exactly do you think they get the power to charge the power source in the electric car? Because as you should know energy is neither created nor destroyed so in the end it's only coming from another source. I'm done here. Arguing on youtube gets nowhere.

  • The main problem with electric cars is range and the fact the infrastructure does not properly support them. What I mean is that pretty much all electricity is still generated using fossil fuels, so charging up your Tesla in the long run makes little difference ecologically. I think the hydrogen powered cars are a much better bet.
