  • I know I'm gonna be hammered as a heretic for this comment, but I liked Flatt & Scruggs version alot better.

  • Gotta love Kenny's soloing on the chorus at 1:48

  • The combination of Monroe and Baker was always musical perfection...this great video is no exception. The smooth, long bow style of Baker blended perfectly with Monroe's mandolin and made each performance a thrill! Thanks for posting this video for all to enjoy...

  • God! You can just feel the POWER in Bill's voice - even at this advanced age!!!

  • great tune!bill monroe's music will never die.

  • I'm told by a bluegrass musician that the moon is the carving in an outhouse door.

    Take it from there.

  • I can understand why you think that. He talks in the song of meeting his wife, the now she's up in heaven and with the Angel band is present tense, they are old and he waits to join her again.

    Such simple romantism!

  • I love this song, but I never understood it.... Does anybody have an interpretation of the lyrics, it seems like a person died, but then he talks about it like he's happy.....
