@MrShaunp85 No I put that axle in the truck. It (had) a comp cam 218 224 cam with .470 lift in it. It now has a 6.0/4l80e in it from 2005 silverado. Im sure you could pass smog if you do a cam, just make sure you have the cats on and whoever tunes it, make sure they know you need to pass smog.

I was also looking to get some headers on it..How is this cam treating you..is it emissions legal?? does your check engine light come on at all?? id like to know more about the cam and how big i can go while keeping it street legal..
that would be really cool, the 6.0. but no offense, I think it would be money wasted. maybe if it had an old run down motor, the 6.0 would be a good transition, but it's so perfect the way it sits, and sounds so great with that cam, I think u should leave it. such a complete and perfect truck already

@ubaguzi actually i got the 6.0 with lower mileage with all acc, brackets, harness, computer, and dbw gas pedal and module cheaper than what i could find 5.3 for. so it worked out pretty good for me.

@ROIDS9399 im not getting a tuner, once everythings done if it will run, im driving it to baker engineering to have it dyno tuned and from there they can usually get another 15-30 hp out of it plus clear all the S.E.S lights so they dont keep poppin up from emissions. if i cant get it to run good enough to drive shes gettin towed
@HPICamaroSS yeah im already sick of this stupid SES light. the handheld tuners can give you just about as good of a tune as the dyno right? i just don't have a clue what brand to go with.

I like the truck a lot but, the front end with the red and blue i don't like but I do like the rest of the paint. Oh I'm going to get a 6" lift and maybe 35"-37" tires.
@johnatv1995 They are 33" Mud terrains (any bigger and i cant squeeze in my barn). It has about 10-11" of lift. 6" suspension with torsions cranked up a bit and 3" body. Once I get a bigger barn to put it in it will be gettin bigger 'tars

@BattyBitz My paint, which is Indigo Blue Metallic costs about 200 bucks for a quart. That was the easy part. Getting the hoog prepped is where the money was I prob had 20+ hours of labor getting it as perfect as possible because the gel coat had a lot of hollow spots in it. BUT, the hood makes the truck if you know what I mean. Thanks for commenting.
@KeepItRoostin658 body lift will show the frame more. ya those hoods are on ebay for like 250 i think. its under Fiberglass 4"cowl SVO Bolt-on Chevy truck Hood 88-98 for 250 bucks.

@010badchevy010 I went through Brian at TBIChips.com. He can make you a chip for 200 bucks if you tell him all your mods. After he burned me that chip, i was able to get the truck running, but it ran a little rich and it was choppy.
@010badchevy010 ...to add to that, i got the TTS Datamaster program off TBIChips site, then i got an ALDL cable that you hook up to ur OBD to a laptop then basically go out and drive the truck...from there Brian was able to fine tune it, and now it runs awesome. A+++++ service!
@HPICamaroSS I have a 94 Z71 with Edelbrock Performer Plus camshaft #3702 and It runs perfect with a JET Performance Stage 1 Computer chip #29427..Also have the Edelbrock Performer TBI intake manifold #3704, Edelbrock Performer Centerbolt heads #60859, and a Holley Throttle Body #502-9. right around $3,000 worth of parts. Im making roughly 350hp and 325 ft/lbs..what torque and horsepower do you get?
