@SSGPops Something doesn't feel right about the firing side leg being front, but I guess she'll figure it out eventually. As soon as her back gets all uncomfortable, she'll switch to the other leg.
@SSGPops I said the same thing to her when I noticed that but for the moment she's more comfortable that way I guess. She's a Southpaw shooter actually, even though she's learning to shoot as a right handed shooter. That's what I think is the problem. I've been teaching her to shoot both right and left with that in mind however, and I try to have her spend the same amount of time shooting from either shoulder so she'll be better than the rest of us at switching later on.
@DOCSAFETUBE Over 1000 rounds through this one with no cleaning and no malfunctions. There were a few double feeds but we discovered it was only due to a bad magazine, not the weapon. They cost about $3000 depending on the retailer. Available everywhere currently. Recoil is barely felt, even firing with a single unsupported arm.
@DOCSAFETUBE The thing is, most ARs end up costing more than $3000 after adding upgrades such as quality rail systems, adjustable stocks, and all match grade internals treated with the best self lubricating coatings available. Nothing is just MilSpec with the SCAR
@SERVIAM2008 holy shit bro...I just shot B.J.'s scar and I love it..nice and smooth hardly no re-coil , I might just get one...ty for this great info dude!!
What, did they make the scar out of, Roswell crash material. It's looks like it would be way heavier. Did you notice it to be bulkier? Cause it looks bulky too. I like the gun cam but the way :)
@Pepsifx357 it didn't seem bulky at all when carrying or shouldered. I agree it does have that appearance in some areas, but it's shape is ergonomincally friendly wth nothing unusual or uncomfortable to the shooter.
@Pepsifx357 About $3600 with the Aimpoint T1 Micro and mount. That's not bad at all considering what all is included when compared to the average custom M4. To build a comparable M4 you'd need a full length piston driven match grade upper, Nickel Boron bolt, Match trigger, Ambi controls, Fully adjustable stock, and rails at 3,6 and 9 oclock with a full length top rail. That can easily cost over $3600. Plus, the SCAR stock folds ,and it accepts all AR15/M4 magazines.
@SERVIAM2008 No doubt, its much more reliable than the standard M4 given that its a piston design. Have you noticed a lot of heat buildup in the gas port, or having to clean the gas port out a lot? I know that this was a problem with the Piston ARs. Also, do they make this weapon in .308?
@Pepsifx357 I never noticed any significant heat buildup anywhere other than the barrel even after putting 10 mags through the gun in about 10 minutes. The gas port almost NEVER needs to be cleaned with this weapon. Removal of the gas port isn't even included in the suggested manual of arms for breakdown and maintenence. FNH doesn't recommend any further breakdown than what I demonstrated at the end. Yes, the SCAR is also made in .308 (7.62x51) called the SCAR 7.62 or SCAR Heavy
@SERVIAM2008 Sweet, I guess they finally found out how to merge the AK-47 reliability and the AR platform's accuracy. I'd like to see some dirt tests from someone who would willingly toss her in the dirt. lol
After having tested the scar, what would be your assumptions on how the .308 model would handle?
@Pepsifx357 I haven't heard much from anyone I know personally about the Heavy SCAR but based on what I've read and seeing one up close I'd be willing to bet it's an excellent weapon also, and comparable in proportion to it's smaller 5.56 version in every way. I have handled the Heavy SCAR but never fired it. It seemed identical to the 5.56 version except for it's size and weight which seemed to be a perfect "Big Brother" with all necessary parts enlarged to accomodate the 7.62.
why the black pistol grip? Is that a pmag? my pmags don't drop when I hit the mag release on my SCAR.
