Yeah, I'm afraid so. There is no way around it, as far as I can tell. Rotoscoping is editing something frame by frame, so you make the saber picture about 30 times per second. It's a long process, but there are different methods that you can use in the lightsaber effect's case.

this is cool, but which adobe premiere did u use, cuz mine doesnt have that glow, im using premiere elements 4

I used Elements for this. But if you mean the lightsaber effect, I had to Rotoscope in Photoshop to make that.
