I work on real defibrillators and can assure everyone that no-one's heart has ever blown up! The worst that could happen to the patient is skin burns and only when there is poor contact with the paddles or too much moisture across the chest.

hopefully not but mind you that kinda capacitor should only be used for external defibrillation because the energy needed to pass though all your skin and tissue to reach your heart. Internal defibrilation uses a significantly reduced energy to perform the same task. Besides, I think this is the same kinda capacitor but its not a controlled amount of energy. its just a really beefy capacitor running at its max.

1f caps are built to work on low voltages, abour 5v. If you tried to charge it to 5kv, it would blow up the cap LONG before the desired charge was reached.
