Joe just doesnt want to face reality. He wants to believe his party is not compromised by the ultra right-wing. The Republican party is done for at least a generation, if it can survive at all. I'm starting to think the conservatives are going to split off and create their own theocratic/corporate party. Obviously it's the best ol' Max can come up with. Look, he'd lose a debate to me inside of 2 minutes. I'd simply ask him to mention ONE position the Republicans have taken that buttresses his thesis—one position that's indicative of how the "religious right" has taken over the party. All he mentioned was opposing Obama's stimulus. Well, that's something Reagan and the rest of the 80s Reps and Gingrich the 90s Reps would have opposed. So, sorry, but it's not a new position.
