@Aggiechilds anything Joe Cocker sings becomes his 'original song' and if you had a clue about music you would understand that. his vocal gifts transform any song he does into his own 'original song.' some artistes write 'original songs' because a songwriter earns nearly as much from music sales as the recording artist does, so if the recording artist is also the songwriter, the pay is much greater. Mr. Cocker is not the greedy type. he doesn't give his audience jingles so he can get more money.
@Aggiechilds Joe Cocker co-wrote over 50 songs, the latest one, woman to woman, was recored by tupac shakur and made into a million seller. You must be an idiot. Even the Beatles said that he did their songs better than they did. And Jeff Lynn (ELO) wrote songs just for him to sing. How old are you? 12?
I have witnessed my parents in such deep soulful Love for so many years....this is one of those songs that embraces that feeling... Breathtaking! (with tears)
Come and talk about the things we did today, laugh about our funny little ways. From joe's second album w/Delta Lady, and Hitchcock Railway. Great album
Nobody, but nobody, can cover a song and make it their own the way that Joe Cocker can. A true master! I usually prefer original versions of songs, but I can't think of any Joe Cocker covers that are not exceptions to that rule. Even all the Beatles songs he's covered, including 'Come Together' in the movie 'Across The Universe.' I had no idea he was going to be in that movie but when I heard before I saw him and "JOE COCKER!!"
It's strange. Sometimes in life it's as if a song will find you when you need to hear it - even though it's been in my car on a cassette I never really played - this song is so relevant right now. Freaks me out, but in a good way. Anyone else ever have this experience?
@pdb1325 Yes I did, just a while ago I heard this on the radio in the Netherlands.
My girlfriend atm is 2000 km's away, waiting for me to find an appartment to live together. Half a year since I've lived with her, seen her a couple of weeks since then.
This is my favorite John Sebastian song but I have to say that I like Joe's version the best. Guess I'd have to admit that I'm not The Loving Spoonful's #1 fan but I just like most of their songs done by someone else. They got some gooduns tho!
@jwmellott Right! I've heard it and agree. Makes me think: be interesting to hear him do some Traffic; like Mr. Fantasy. I haven't heard him doing it but I'll have to check it out. He's done alot.
@MrSilentwolf21 Thanks. I didn't know that. I thought I was correct thinking it was a John Sebastian song. Seems I saw him credited for it on a LS album. I could be mistaken. Been awhile since I sat down and read album backcovers.
Sorry about bursting your bubble, but JC didnt write the song. It was John Sebastian from The Lovin' Spoonful. But I do agree that JC does a better version.
This is a Loving Spoonful song! Their original is and always will be best!!

@Freddieboy44 Agreed-- Joe also has a verson of "Can't Find My Way Home" that rivals the quality of Blind Faith.

@Freddieboy44 It's not a Loving Spoonful song...they covered it from all-time greats Slade. It's Noddy Holder's song!
