I have this in my car... the slide down screen for the cd has stopped working and I dont know why.... I press eject, it doesnt move. It sounds like its trying to then it just gives me a few beeps and carries on playing the radio. does anyone know what the problem is?

You can turn off info data (after few second) from the screen and then you can see only visual efect :) i have similar radio gt500 same display :)

have the same style cd player except mine has a usb port and i can control songs on any mp3 player without touching the player. also it has bluetooth connection so i can take all my calls without having to pick up my phone.

yo probally have no acessory wire...try connecting the yellow and red wires together and it should power on when you hit source

i got this unit , i love the display and option , as stated here to get the best out of it you have to play a lot with the audio settings , I just wish the round light around the Knob was Red , purple or blue instead of white. maybe one of this days i will take apart the faceplate and mod this i have already done this in a clarion it depends on wich type of led it is.

I just bought this headunit , its pretty decent , it has good amounts of bass in my opinion but to get it you have to play a lot with the adjusting options , as i always say read the manual to get the best of what you buy . one thing i dont like is the alarm to remove the faceplate /

It said that the alarm will only turn on if you use the integrated amplifier. What does that mean? not sure... :D

What they mean is if you power your speakers with the headunit amp you hear it, If you connect the headunit RCA output to a seperate amp to power the speakers instead you won't hear the alarm.

press and hold the volume knob and i think "lows" appear first and turn the knob up or down to adjust, press the knob again to get to mids...highs...fade..ect. or you can just use the preset eq settings by pressing the EQ3 button.

Yes i think that the white light is annoying after a while, specially if you drive your commute during the night or during long roadtrips looking from the dark road to the bright stereo blinds you for a sec.

Very nice stereo. Like most sony car stereo's does yours beep 3 times when you turn off the cars ignition and remove the key leaving the faceplate panel inserted.

That looks like a beautiful head unit. I'm thinking of buying one but I've heard that they can be unreliable. Have you had any problems with yours? Also how bright is the display. I drive a convertible in a sunny place. Is the display easy to see in strong sunlight. I would really appreciate any feedback you can give.

its a decent headunit. alpine still makes the best. i recommend the 9883 to the sony headunit. the sony headunit is bassless. if you like bass. is sony unit is bright, even in a sunny day.

Pioneer is the best when it comes to head units. They have won heaps of awards, they were the first to have OEL display, the first to include Sub control (meaning you could turn the sub on or off, control the sound of it and everything), the have the best quality LCD screens, the first to have navigation - blue tooth - dvd and ipod functions all in one unit.
