  • horribly disappointed in the "nutrition plan". As a vegetarian it offers little to No help at all.Basically it tells you to eat soy burgers for a protein source..I hope the work outs are more effective than the diet or i got ripped {OFF}!!!!!!!!!! BUMMED.

  • This is good. I'm starting P90X next week

  • @1969jmt Glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to contact us if you need help.

  • I do not understand how many snacks I should eat... I'm on phase 1 level 1

The nutrition book have one square that says single, other one that says bar and another that says drink ... I should interpretate this as one single serving of any portion of the single snack options plus the bar (full bar= doble) and the drink (doble)

Or the square that says single is to mark the bar and the drink as single servins???

  • @tetefloragui8 You should go to our site and check out the whole post. There is a video where I explain how to make these sorts of adjustments. You can always email me at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll direct you to all of that. It can be confusing, because everyone is different and needs to customize the spreadsheet a little.

  • what if your a vegetarian? i'm a little concerned about the dietary aspect of the p90x program being meat based, do you have any advice?

  • @TheManolakis The P90X2 plan has a Vegan option that is great. Email me infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll direct you to that. It's the same basic plan as P90X. Tony was Vegan for 10+ years and then vegetarian for I don't know how long. It's totally doable.

  • @thefitclubnetwork excellent,i'm stoked. Thank you for the reply. james.

  • this food is like barely anything!!!

  • OMG! Monica, you just made this super simple for me! Great ideas!

  • at 12:00 dont you have to eat 120z of tuna because you have 2 protein serving together???? someone please answer me??? HELP!!

  • @Msmusik1992 Shoot me an email. infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom. I'll do whatever I can to help.

  • @Msmusik1992 one serving of tuna is 3oz that's why she put "6oz tuna"... 6oz is 2 servings so that is correct.

  • Hey are you still helping people with the p90x nutrition plan cuz I need help with mine????

  • @valiente1022 absolutely. email me at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom. I'd love to help.

  • even teachers make spelling mistakes. haha. "torillas"

  • I work froam 7.45 AM to 16 P.M 5 days a week, I have to breaks during a working day, from 9.15 - 9.25 and 12.00 pm - 12.20!! If I was unemployed it was plausible! but im not. By the way I work as a Mechanic. I work out 3 days a week, monday/wednesday/Friday 2 hours each time.

  • @Roshandk I'm not sure how to respond to that. When I started working I was working 10+ hours per day and had a 2 year old and a newborn. It wasn't perfect, and it doesn't need to be. It was the best I could do with the time and money that I had.

  • following p90x nutrition plan is very hard for me, one of the main reasons is that it's very expensive (plus I'm unemployed) and it's hard to get those ingredients where i live. but i deal with what i got. i eat everything (except junk food, sodas etc) but with portion control. i don't calculate my calorie intake nor do i balance proteins, carbs, fats etc. my results are great so far, but could they be better, if i followed the p90x guide? most likely yes, but nothing drastic.

  • seems like you need more carbs

  • @dafuksup That's Phase I of the P90X nutrition guide. It is a low carb, high protein, moderate fat plan. Subsequent Phases add carbs in.

  • @thefitclubnetwork ok thanks, i see now. im a nutritionist btw.

  • @dafuksup People tend to need the most help with the plan very early in the process. If we can help them understand how to structure a day using Phase I, then altering the plan by reducing protein and adding carbs becomes simple. Most people do Phase I for 3 weeks. Some continue for longer, but we certainly need carbs for fuel and for post-workout recovery.

  • Wow! Thanks you made it make more sense to me.

  • Well I work 3rd shift and when I get home, I do my workout and take my whey protein drink b4 going to bed in the morning. Do you suggest me doing my workout b4 bed or after waking up.

  • @STHEEVYaJMUZIC You have to do what works best for your schedule. Working out in the morning is generally the best, but you've go to do it when it works for you. If that's before bed, then that's when it is. If you can do it when you wake up, that's going to set you up for a better day. It's easier to fuel your body before the workout and get in your post-workout recovery.

  • Does this guide come with P90X when you buy it? Someone please reply

  • @In7amiTe Absolutely.

  • @In7amiTe Yea and calendar

  • is the best time to take whey protein isolate, right after a workout?

  • @GlesgaRangersBouncey That's certainly a good time to do it. You'll want some carbs as well to help replace the glycogen that's been used up during your workout.

  • @thefitclubnetwork Yeah I forgot to say recovery drink too :) Im just starting my second week tomorrow. Im still craving for junk food :( but I know I will not go near it and I have no bad foods in my house at all i cleared them all out. There is nooo way im going through all that workout and eating right at not keeping it up for 90days+

  • @GlesgaRangersBouncey The "+" being the most important part. P90X isn't about 90 days. It's about changing your life. The 90 days represents a period of time during which you can gain the knowledge you need and make the changes that need to be made for your life to change forever.

  • What is the recovery formula, can it be something like a protein bar?

  • @ThatsAGoodVideo It is a shake. It is a 4:1 (carbs:protein) blend that is designed to replace the glycogen that is depleted from your muscles during vigorous exercise.

  • @thefitclubnetwork and does the RF stay the same 4:1 throughout the 90 days?

  • @thefitclubnetwork hey thanks!

  • I haven't fount the portion plan difficult to follow, just the measurements. I'm English, there should be a European translation! We don't have "cups", ounces or pounds! Apart from that, I found the food side easy. Workouts... well, that's another matter...

  • @ThePresentpresence Good point. As Beachbody expands internationally, I'm sure they will add that conversion. I'll shoot an email off to Carl Daikeler and see if they can include that with P90X MC2 when it comes out in the fall.

  • this helped me a lot to get an idea for planning my meals, mine is much bigger, Level 3, but you helped me with the basics at least. Thank You so much. :)

  • Love it easy way to keep track

  • Haha you can def tell that you were a teacher at one time : )

The way you do the chart is a dead give away.

    Thanks for the vid!

  • do you have to eat 6 times a day. i have never eating 6 times a day b4. i only eat 3 times ...

  • @moonpop1 You don't have to, but it will help your metabolism. Everything in life is optional, except death and taxes. 3 times probably means you eat more than you need at each meal. If you put a snack in between your meals, you'll probably find you are not as hungry when it is meal time.

  • @moonpop1 If you're doin P90X, you should start eating often. You don't have to eat 6 times a day right away, you can start with 4 times and you'll see if your body wants more. Body is not stupid. If you eat even 2 times, 3 times, you're body will remember that and it'll know that once you eat your breakfast, body won't get any food for next 4 hours. So, when you eat something, your body won't burn that, it'll save that energy for later cause it knows that you won't eat till lunch or so...

  • @MsAchromatic Completely agree. The body is very smart and really does learn to adapt to your behavior. If you teach it that more fuel will be along shortly, then it will burn what you give it fairly efficiently. If you teach it that it will have to wait 4 or 5 hours form more fuel, it will tend to store those resources for later use. Get that metabolic fire burnin.

  • @thefitclubnetwork heheh, yeah, this is easier way to explain =D I don't speak English and I can't think of this terms right away =P

  • thanks heaps for putting this up i've just started so this is a big help to me :)

  • @nesiansoul Of course. Feel free to email us at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom if you have any questions.

  • Thx for this vdo, it has helped me. Iv just started p90x. I'm just having 2meals a day I dnt get the time or chance to cook, even for my work out I gave to go to my mum's at 10am n thn do the workout. It's cuz I hav a 4 month baby n he is a hand full.

I hav eggs or porridge with tea for Breakfast and chicken or tuna with a bowl of veggies for dinner

    So plz help me out.

    I'd b gr8full :)

  • @owhtulokin Sorry for the late reply. Just saw this. Feel free to email us at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and we'll do what we can to help.

  • Thanks a lot for this. I'm sure I'm gonna need some help Lol. : )

  • @Zenstudent105 Happy to help. Shoot me an email at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom if you have questions.

  • This is amazing, i totally understand it thanks to you! Thank you so much!

  • @beautygloss Excellent! Thanks for the comment. So glad to be helpful.

  • Now level 1 is a how many days does it takes

  • Hey I'm getting ready to start my p90x once I get the equipment. I have no problem eating a breakfast or dinner but because I'm in high school still, it's gonna be hard for me to have snacks in between. I'm also not sure if the lunch at school fits the nutrition guide. I was wondering how else I can get my daily requirements. Can I just go ahead and eat my snacks after school?

  • Ive been doin P90X for 53 days now. I feel discourged cause I still have alot of stomach fat. I started 150lbs & I am currently at 144lbs. Ive been followin the nutrition plan & have not missed a workout. I dont know if its cause my protein or creatine shakes? I take 3 protein shakes a day only on muscle days or plyo. I take creatine 2 times a day also on these days. I take a teaspoon of creatine. I takes these shakes 1 in the morning before my workout & after. Same for the creatine please help!

  • @P90XAREYOUREADY It's really hard to say just with that info. It absolutely could be related to the shakes. How many calories are you taking in per day? I'd just need more info. If you want to email me at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom I can give you some additional thoughts.

  • i don't really get this neither the phase i don't have time to to cook i look at the quick lunch page but doesn't give me a breakfast or snack a quick thing?

  • @Exsistences Ok, slow down a little bit. "Quick" isn't necessarily what this is about. Send me an email at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll help you with some resources.

  • im having a hard time with the diet. Im 5'5 and i only weight 125lbs. Im already skinny and im thinking that the diet might make me skinner on top of the intense workout. Do you have an advice for me? Thankss so much

  • @saleh426 The plan is not designed for weight loss. It adds 600 calories to your daily total to avoid running a deficit (that's an average of what most people burn, not a precise number and can/should be adjusted for your needs). Just follow the links to our site where you'll find the spreadsheet to calculate calories and then don't make reductions to that number.

  • I'm just a tad confused. How many snacks do you get with phase 1 fat shredder? in the book it has SGL, Bar, Drink. Does that mean you have 3 snacks? Thanks

  • @1987amandam It really depends on how many calories you are taking in. Some of them might be singles, doubles, a Shakeology, or whatever. It's not a cookie cutter plan. You have to customize it a little bit. if you need help with that, send me an email. infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom.

  • @thefitclubnetwork

I'm also confused on my calorie intake. I'm a 5'0 140lb female. 23 years old. I used the calculation in the book and it said I should be eating 3000 calories a day?? That just seems entirely too much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @1987amandam Send me an email infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom. I'll work out the calcs and explain everything. You are correct that the number is too high for weight loss.

  • Based on Level I, Phase I Nutrition plan is the Recovery drink a protein or snack? Is the shakeology a protein or a snack? Or are these not counted in the food plan part?

  • @cshabcd Recovery Formula is actually a high carb/low protein mix, so it wouldn't be a protein. I think the best thing to do with both is to count them as a snack. Shakeology it too diverse to classify as anything else. Are you taking both?

  • Thanks

  • So your workout started at 5AM?

  • @johncfl It did today. Not every single day, but about 3 days a week Monica gets up and hammers it out before the sun comes up. It's a great way to start the day.

  • I finally Get It!!! ... Thank Uuuuuu

  • @judystar61 Excellent. So glad to help!

  • i cant find mine what should i do

  • @WhereAmazingHappns Missing your nutrition guide? The Beachbody Club has a meal planner that includes everything you need for P90X. Are you a Club Member?

  • Awesome, love this...and LOVE your voice! :)

  • @shartanne Excellent. Thanks for the compliment.

  • Man, you make it so easy. I'm on phase one, level 1.

Is it cool, if my snacks are protein bars and could a protein shake count as a meal?

  • @Ge0vone Absolutely. They would all count as snacks.

  • i cant find how many grams of protein carbs and fats i should consume. if i weigh 228, how much of each ? isnt there a simple equation? am i the only one who hasnt figured this out?

  • @jasonis916 Shoot me an email. infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll see if I can explain things better.

  • its unbelievable that nowhere can i find a formula of how much protein, carbs, and fat to take in!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the book it says for phase 1 the break down of protein is 50%, carbs 30% and fats 20%..........but 50%, 30% and 20% OF WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!if im 228 lbs........... how many grams of protein should i consume? grams of carbs? fat? is there a formula for phases 1, 2, and 3?

  • tea?

  • hi, i can drink cafe or thea ?

  • I downloaded the speadsheet to the determined how many calories i needed on a daily basis. it said i need 2600 calories. do i have to take 2600 calories daily? i find it hard to eat that much

  • @23whiz Shoot me an email at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll explain the calorie counts and why they seem high for P90X.

  • @23whiz McDonalds will fix that

  • @nuclearthreat545 wat???

  • @23whiz It'll make it easy to eat that much in a day

  • This really helps a lot!

  • how do i know which level am i in nutrition level I, II, or III, i have the book

  • @thelordsbaby Follow the link in the post description and get the spreadsheet. Just enter your weight and it will calculate your calories for you.

  • your schedule shows a 12 hour plan, what if i (not by my choice) have to be up from say 6:00 a.m. to midnight? so instead of a 12 hour plan, something more like a 15 hour plan. Will that work?

  • @TheAlexallthetime Of course. It's just an idea of how the plan can be laid out. If you want some more help. Shoot me an email. infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom.

  • workout fasting or have breakfast before? thanks for all

  • @vinicv Just depends. Monica can usually workout without anything prior. I need something. I usually opt for fruit, protein shake or Shakeology, but it depends on what I'm doing as well.

  • So do u do P90x workout before lunch or dinner?

  • @abychacko1012 It depends. Monica usually works out early in the morning. I like to workout in the middle of the day. A few times a week we run or attend Fit Clubs (group workouts) that happen at night. So, it varies.

  • So do u do P90x workout before lunch or dinner?

  • I work in the operating room and don't have the flexibility to eat and drink on a schedule. What would you suggest to be my best options for dealing with my situation to get in the nutritional needs with P90X?

  • @cmoriarty29 While the schedule is certainly the best thing, it isn't necessarily the only way to make it work. If you look on our site, you'll see the spreadsheet for the Portion Approach. Determine your Level/Phase and just check off the boxes as your day progresses. Email me at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom if you want more help.

  • you workout fasting?

  • @vinicv See comments below. It depends on the day/workout. Monica and I are different in this regard. The sheet is just an example of how to lay out a day.

  • Is the Phase 2 and Phase 3 nutrition guide pretty much identical or would it emphasize more on protein and etc. intake and what not?

  • @rezwanborja The ratios of protein:carb:fat change with each Phase of the P90X nutrition plan. Phase 1 is heavy in protein. Phase II is more balanced. Phase III is higher in carbs.

  • do you have anything for your pre workout meal or do you workout on a empty stomach

  • @superpitbull87 Just depends. Monica can usually workout without anything prior. I need something. I usually opt for fruit, protein shake or Shakeology, but it depends on what I'm doing as well.

  • I'm a fool for string cheese. how many are we allowed to have? I don't wanna go overboard. lol

  • @kkphi08 That depends on your calorie Level and what Phase of the nutrition guide you are in. If you need help with that you can email me at infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll give you some thoughts.

  • Is it important to take the Recovery drink RIGHT AFTER you work out?

  • @rezwanborja Within 45 mins. The point of Recovery Formula is to replace glycogen in your muscles that is depleted during exercise. The 45 mins after you workout is the best time to do that. I do not recommend taking recovery formula as a snack. It is high in sugars. Those sugars are the way to restore glycogen, but you need to do that fairly quickly after working out.

  • @thefitclubnetwork thanks for the info

  • Hey im 14 trying to start P90x. Need to get into great shape this year for the start of baseball season in the spring as a freshman and am trying to make varsity. I weigh about 170 and want to get down to a really strong 135-145. It says i should be eating 2640 calories but in order to get down to 135-145 and a little less than that is ok, how many calories do i need to be eating? And is there anything specificly i can do to get really good results. Thanks -Drew

  • @druville96 To lose weight, you'll need to cut calories. Look over the nutrition guide and how it explains the calories that are added to make up for what you burn doing P90X. Understanding that is the key to getting the number right.

  • @druville96 To lose weight, you'll need to cut calories. Look over the nutrition guide and how it explains the calories that are added to make up for what you burn doing P90X. Understanding that is the key to getting the number right.

  • Very helpful and informative. Myself and my hubby are doing P90X and are into week 5. Drinking Shakeology at lunchtime after our workout. The nutrition guide is well made and organized!

    Thanks for the video

  • AWESOME!

    thanks a lot :D

  • Can you please tell me which shake should I buy and which recovery drink? I purchase the p90x but only the DVD I already started and didn't understand the book of course) so I will follow your pattern, I am also on the ft shredder.

    Thanks.

  • @utalledo Have you seen Shakeology? wwwDOTmyshakeologyDOTcom/azfitclub. That's the best thing out there. I'm in Switzerland now, and brought it with me to have my daily supply.

  • @thefitclubnetwork are you strict with the diet? how do you handle when you go out and stuff? i have been very strict but I cheated today sunday :p and I feel guilty now :(

  • Very Interesting....thank u

  • wow this answered all of my question nutrition guide wise thanx

  • Do you have to follow the actual recipes verbatim? Or can you just pick what you need from that list of food based on your level? And just make your own recipes from that list?? Because these recipes are quite expensive. HELP!

  • Comment removed

  • thanks coach M

  • This is really helpful. I just bought the system and am going to start next week once I get the rest of my equipment and food. Is there a close substitute for the Recovery formula? I have had a hard time finding that here in Canada. I've read that either chocolate milk or fruit juice with protein powder is going to be similar.

  • @GettingHealthyDad Those are the most common substitutions to be sure. They both have (roughly) a 4:1 (carbs:protein) ratio. Recovery Formula adds amino acids and creatine, which really do help with muscle growth in addition to recovery. In a pinch, the ones you've suggested will work to help your body replace depleted glycogen. So, you are on the right track.

  • im 16 6'1 175. i just started p90x 4 days ago. i wanna get down to 10% bodyfat. im around 15% how many calories should i eat a day? thanks

  • @187lickmynuts Follow the link back to our site. There is a spreadsheet there that will calculate your calories for you. What you eat is going to be just as important as how much if you want to get to 10% body fat.

  • @alav3rg4 There are differing opinions on this. The P90X plan calls for egg whites (you can just buy the egg whites alone). I eat whole eggs. I believe the yoke contains a lot of nutrients, omega 3's, and essential fats that my body needs. They are higher in calories, so yes, you'll want to reduce the amount. The ave egg is like 80 to 90 calories with the yoke.

  • I dont know if you can answer this but if i do boxing is there anyway i can do p90x to at the same time or will it be too much work on the body. Thanks

  • @MultiDann23 Everyone is different. For some people that would be overtraining. Others can handle it. It depends on your background and current fitness level. It is a lot of work and you'll have to be sure to eat enough because you'll burn a ton of calories.

  • @PastorSean18 Excellent. If you are not already working with a Coach, let me know. We'd be happy to get you setup with Shakeology.

  • i wanna order shakeology but ive only had greenberry once and i wanna try the other kind b4 i order a supply so i know wut one i like best

  • @DCBoys86 Are you working with a Coach? If not, I'd be happy to send you a sample of chocolate. If you already have a Coach, see if they will send you one.

  • @thefitclubnetwork im not working with a coach i think i got one on the website but ive asked that person stuff but it dont get me no where they never respond so thye are no help to me. if u could send me a sample of the chocolate that would b awesome let me know thanks...

  • @DCBoys86 Shoot me an email. daveATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom

  • Very good! i love the way you actually illustrate the info in a memorable way that makes it clearer to understand! Very good, thank you Monica.....

  • @conseler Thanks! I'll let her know. A lot of people have found that helpful.

  • what is the shakeology if you dont mind me asking?

  • @1a1a2a3a It is a nutritional supplement that Beachbody makes. They started making it after P90X was done, so it is not referenced in the guide. Let me know if you want a sample.

  • No I dont have a coach I dont think I really need one.. I mean Ive done the P90X before I just need some help when it comes to the nutrition plan thats all thankz anyways

  • @P90XAREYOUREADY That's exactly what I am offering you. Coaching means different things to different people. Some need help with nutrition, some need motivation, others need both. We help people via email and via our message boards.

  • Ya cause when I eat eggs I eat the whole egg which is about 80 cal for one so ya that would be about 1 protein huh?? ok thank you I jus need alot more advice on certain thingz to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and so on

  • @P90XAREYOUREADY Are you working with a Coach now? Let me know. We offer free Coaching for P90X if you are interested.

  • Ok I had a question lets say I decied to have eggs in the morning would one egg count as one protein? Cause I wanted to have 2 eggs so would that count as 2 proteins??

  • @P90XAREYOUREADY You can check the nutrition guide for what equals what. Per the plan 6 egg whites equal 1 protein. 1 protein = about 100 cal, and I think the average egg is 90 calories, so that's about right.

  • How do you incorporate Shakeology into your portion guide?

  • @Theoldncranky Shakeology is counted as a double snack in the nutrition guide.

  • isnt it bad to eat tuna everyday in case of consuming too much mercury?

  • @FreeeeStuff4Life This is just a sample of one day. There a lot of substitutes that can be made. That's the great thing about the portion approach.

  • Have her do cardio and yoga things with little resistance bands instead of heavy weight and she'll just get toned and firm

  • @takedowngreco thank you very much!

  • My wife wants to do P90X but is afraid of gaining to much muscle. She mainly wants to lose weight. Should she do the Classic or the lean exercise. Pretty sure lean, but would love your advice. Sorry im off topic, but would appreciate your input. thank you

  • How do you measure these things, specially when you eat outside?

  • I really want to do P90X but i am pretty sure i am under age, i am 13 turning 14 in october i want to know if i can start P90X or if i should wait till im older, i can do at the most 2 pull ups and about 13 pushups, i want to know what is a good age to start P90X

    thanks

  • @moneybagz609 Tough one there. I'd consult with your family physician to determine whether P90X is something you can take on at that age. My little brother is 17 and he's done some of the workouts. He's very active in high school sports.

  • you dont eat anything after 6?what time do you go to sleep?

  • @Wolvve Depends on a day to day basis. This is just an example of what it could look like.

  • @vtecinfekshun Hey there. Shoot me an email at daveATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom and I'll give you some more thoughts on how to get the most out of all this.

  • thats a lot of food tho.... a lot of money

  • @karincollado Not really. The amount of food depends on your caloric needs. If you bought it all at a restaurant, then it would be expensive, but if you prepare it yourself it really isn't.

  • Hey guys trying to get started on P90x. I am out of shape, female, 49 years old, weigh 260 lbs. Want to get in shape before I end up with diabetes and all sorts of things. I intend on doing P90x slowly. It says when I calculate how many calories I need, I need 3720 calories to start the phase 1 fat burner. Is that alittle high or what should I start with 3,000?
