@halflifefan84 highest settings and resolution (if you speak about 1080p) yes, but not 30fps, with GTX 460 and this res i would expect fps around 25

And I can play it with like 30 fps on 1600x900 res and medium settings.

I dont understand why people think overexposing an image makes it look more realistic. Plants dont turn white when its bright outside in the woods, the are still green.

@Blueduckraider50 get a better CPU for gods sake! u have an LGA 775 socket, so get a core 2 quad. then u will probably pown it! those graphics cards will do VERY well on it (60fps, i have a single gtx 295, and get around 25-40fps, but i have ddr3 ram (6gb) and an i7 920)

no, not badly made.

The gameengine draws up more than 2 million polygons, which is quite shader heavy... :P

It is even now the most shader heavy game in terms of:

Geometry, Texture, Lighting and Dynamic Shadows.

but Crysis IS badly optimized, for example compare Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead in performance, I got a 10fps improvement! (on DX9)

Crysis was released ahead of time due to pressure, and so they weren't able to fully polish it. Yes Crysis is a big game, but the performance could have been optimized alot more. Just look at CryEngine 3, it looks to be much better optimized and the fact it runs so well on consoles proves it.

Crysis Warhead has a degraded Cryengine 2.... For those who rly know what the difference is..

As example, A lot of reduced particles... the whole smoke system has been reduced... explosions have been reduced in particles..but they added a lot of fire and lighting instead...

Anyway I remember that Crytek said once that the biggest issue if they were to port Crysis to a console would be the more limited RAM, And otherwise porting Crysis wouldn't actually be so difficult.

There are also games like Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 which really show off the potential of consoles

This is not true, if you have played the full Killzone 2 you would know just how good it's grap[hics are. The visuals are comparable to Crysis(Visually, not TECHNICALLY)

And is quite a feat actually

it should show you an HD video demonstration of the Improved CryEngine 3 running on a console - skip to around 3:08 in the video to see the level 'Contact'.

Obviously a High-end computer is more powerful than a console, but that doesn't mean consoles are s*** either. Consoles are more than capable of excellent graphics

@elfmagicia true, on the right circumstances, motion blur will look real, i played cryostasis with motion blur. fps was around 15 , but i preferred the game that way, than to look around in a plastic icy world :P mirrors edge with blur looks nice too

Disorder92 : you can create a .CFG file then type the commands in it. So, when you will play, it will load my super settings ! I get a good framerate cauz I keep my pc very clean (registery,spyware,defrag...) and I have overclocked my GTX 260 to the OCX frequencies : 655/1125/1404
