There's some terrific free video converters that can convert your videos to near any file type and encoding. Best thing is that they're (legal!) full versions.

damn... I can't get my videos HQ no matter what I do :S I have 2 versions uploaded now of my latest video. both are 640 x 480, framrate nearly 30, other is mpeg-4, other is wmv, other has mp2 sound, other has mp3 sound. Bitrate 6000. What am I doing wrong? :(

Ok, your converted files from AVC will be stored in "My Documents". It will be in a folder that says "Any Video Converter", and in the folder that says "MPEG4" if you converted it to MPEG4. When the video is finished converting, it is automatically placed in that folder.

It takes time after it is uploaded like an hour or two. Also video's with really low resolution might not display the high quality option.

Use MPEG-4, the format is much newer and the YouTube engine converts it quicker than other formats, meaning that your video will pop on your channel quicker.

you should check your settings man, there should be an option to turn off/on the watch in hq button. yours might be off or on for only some vids

I just uploaded a vid from 1280x1024 using Xvid4 codec with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0, but it isnt in high quality. I have uploaded other videos using the same Codec through Vegas and they can be viewed in high quality...does it just take time to go through for high quality to become available? Or am i going to have to redo the video using any video converter?

sometimes if your videos are watched alot, lets say there has been 4 view in the first 7 minutes and if that happens then the high quality option sometimes won't appear. But if you upload the video in privte and wait an hour and watch the video there is more of an chance of it appearing.
