  • hahahahahahaha Tagalog is a major dialect not language in the Philippines.... Filipino is the national language...

  • out of tune!!!!

  • When I was a child I always asked my Lola to sing me this song. Whatta a great memory! I am proud Leyteno! :-)

  • I agree with philclassic. The music is ''Condansoy.''

  • This is CONDANSOY

  • I have seen their performance in New York and they are an amazing group. The only thing they need to change is to have someone articulate in English introduce them and explain what they are doing.

  • Why do visayans, hate tagalogs? well I'm not tagalog, I'm ilocano. We all look the same but only the language is different.

I hate it when tagalogs call other ethnolanguages dialects. It's should not be called dialect actually coz if it is, tagalog should be a dialect of malay. It's not a tagalog dialect actually, because their mutually intelligible in a small degree and belongs to different language families. Examples of dialect of tagalog are batangueno, laguna, mindoro, angono, bulacan&mynla

  • @twentius777 hmmm. that's a good point.

  • @twentius777 Tagalog itself is a dialect, the other dialects are not a dialect from tagalog, but it's just another word for a different but similar language. I don't think that they think the others came off from tagalog , they should know that tagalog is just another dialect just like the other ones.

  • @ThtOnePinoy Tagalog is NOT a dialect. It is a language, just like very other spoken word from the different provinces. A dialect is a tongue derived from a language. Just like Ilocano and Visayan are languages.

  • @tangnamogagokatalaga Lol, I honestly think I typed this up when I was like, barely awake, or perhaps I was tying to form up something clever... I don't know it was 4 months ago, regardless yeah tagalog and all the other languages aren't dialects, they are all languages. Like Kapampangan is not a dialect of tagalog, actually tagalog has a couple of our words too, like Bunduk.

  • @ThtOnePinoy I think you need to know what dialect means in the first place.

  • @mollebabeify I was agreeing to what he was saying about calling the other languages dialects, if you call the other languages dialects, then what dialect are they from? Exactly, because they aren't dialects! Ilokano, Kapampangan, Visayan, Maguindanao, these are actual distinct languages, not dialects. They did not come off of Tagalog, Tagalog is just a neighboring language. To call your language a dialect means you do not know it's orgins in the first place.

  • @twentius777 I believe it is not Tagalog in a sense that is hated rather the attitude of some Tagalogs. It's just when people from provinces travel to other provinces, they do there best to speak the dialect in the area they visit. However, some Tagalogs just content themselves with speaking in their native tongue instead of trying their best to speak other languages.

I don't feel any shame in my native tongue being referred as a dialect. A dialect is merely a description of my origin.

  • naku pag talunan ba naman yan ...... the most important is we all enjoyed the wonderful dancers , they did it nice...

maybe the history of that song if you want to know is thru our LOLO's and LOLA's maybe they all know about it

  • nglish dandansoy

    dandansoy,drink sam

  • dandansoy inom tuba laloy that is the title a cebuan osong

  • it wasn't clear if the "tuba" was lina or bahal...

  • basta dandansoy ang orig dili condansoy

  • need this because my teacher want all SPA instrument to play this dandansoy song.

  • i love talaga talo ang mga tagalog region

  • i love it

  • thumbs up!! all visayans are great!!!

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. =D

  • This should be CONDANSOY not DANDANSOY...

  • Researchers from UP Visayas came across this song from an old singer from Ormoc, Leyte. That old man claimed that the song is entitled DANDANSOY. Two more recorded versions from Kabankalan, Negros Occ. and Santander, Cebu both have CONDANSOY for a title. Many textbooks and music books publish this Visayan folk song as "Condansoy"

The language in the lyrics is Cebuano Visayan; but there is also a Waray version recorded in Villareal, Samar (Dandansoy ung title).

  • "Condansoy...bayaan ta ikaw..." Have you heard that song?

  • hahaha visayan Culture. it is waray waray song not a visaya song. visaya is common from cebu Dialect. waray waray is in Region 8 tacloban and samar are waray.

  • apparently region 8 (eastern visayas region) is in visayas; and parts of region 8 speak the visayan (commonly termed as cebuano) vernacular. Region 8 includes all of samar (eastern, northern, western), leyte, southern leyte, biliran.

  • ohhh...im missing ms. gloria cleta..the one who did the solo in the singing...that's really her voice..all the voices ull heer in the groups music are really there own..they are just so talented..

  • i remember growing up in leyte, there are always folk dances to learn in school. as i watch these videos now, i feel so nostalgic. kudos to those who are dedication their lives to preserve our beautiful culture.

  • dandansoy inum tuba laloy. dili ako inum.tuba pa-it aslum

  • Yes i agree that the Visayans do a Lot Better when it Comes to Preserving Our Culture and Traditions...

Maybe it Also Because The Filipino Princesses and Datus Came From The Visayas and Mindanao parts so maybe thats why Its more important for the Visayans to preserve the Culture...

  • Visayans do cultural stuff better.

  • Simply GREAT!
