Spencer - wow... Prokofiev seems to be very well suited to you. For an 8 year old to be in control of this piece is astounding. Very well done, indeed! As far as I am concerned, this is your most convincing video, so far.

Now you need to work on your pianissimo ;-)

This was not meant to be played by an eight year old, so it becomes a very "athletic" piece. He is at his max. arm reach, as well as his fingers' reach. He is used to it by now.

We didn't get a chance to talk to you guys at the recital. Shame she didn't have a reception for the parents to chat. I loved this piece and wanted Anna to learn it, but I think the octaves are too hard. Spencer has huge hands for an 8 year old.

Yes, Spencer has a rather large hands for an eight year old, but the size of your daughter's hands should not deter you from trying to see how she would handle it - she is obviously an extremely capable pianist, besides if it should cause a distress, you can stop it. Her hands will grow too and it will widen her playing field. She is great!

Kids can have a surprising and wonderful ability to compensate. Thanks again, Bob, mom and Spencer.
