you should do load tests with the trains, i've got a different version of this model and up a slightly steep incline it can struggle with 3 carriages on it(gresley coaches from the Flying Scotsman) however the other loco you pick up from the 2010 collectors club, is heavier and can pull a lot more for what it is :)

I gave away my Collectors Club freebie because what really interested me was the LSWR Terrier for £40. Similarly the LSWR T9 a few years back. I do object to having to join the CC to get the LSWR locos at a reasonable price!

@BluGuyMo - I don't work for them, but if I did, to launch a new model would cost a lot more, meaning the club would be more expensive, meaning loads of people wouldn't re-new or join. The model is for kids really, but the adults can benefit from the discount.

What I have done with my collectors badges is put them in the station, where you can see them on the Walls. I even put 2 children looking at them :) although I wish I had a layout like yours! I can't say I've seen a better one ;)

@crazietraindude - expense is relative. Some people put there money into art, or cars, or holidays, or drink, or smoking, or computers, or their gardens. I put it into trains.

@cow2pug - I don't teach nor have I ever said I teach. Craig who I do the railway with is a teacher and teaches IT and physics. I learn langauages as it's useful when travelling abroad or even just going on PlayStation Home for istance.

@InterCity82 no, not only do i go over my track every week with a peco track eraser, ALL my other locos work perfectly - and they're mainly tanks to. i think they just hate me and i hate them back.

@FergDaddy101 - the biggest problem with the little 0-4-0s is obviously how few wheels they have - in fact you can't get any less - so it's essential that the wheels are clean and so are the pick-ups. Sometimes it may even be necessary to add more pick-ups - like I did with my Class 91.

The collector club has been re-using the same moulds for many years now, and I think they're running out of livery designs for them. Thus why they should really invest in either upgrading the club so that it is FOR collectors with a better model (like terrier or summat) that can be done in proper liveries. ok this will up the price a bit but to me it will make the club worth being a part of again- dropped it a few years back after the mini E2 loco.

Both the 2010 and 2011 collector's club models are mass produced models, which come in loads of different guises throughout the range. The 2011 model, I had 2 of, in BR Blue and a hideous bright green, and the 2010 model I had one of, in the name of 'Smokey Joe'
