  • xbox ftw!

    fuck the wii

  • boost panels to turn=mark of bad handling.

Having to call controlling your character "handling"= Give me my Sonic back this is garbage.

  • well..the music is the same :)

  • @Sonicoduh112

The game has been out for 3 years...

  • They call it "Rooftop Run", yet over half the level you're running on the ground...

  • @Jadyn1112 The Japanese version calls it Orange Roofs, by the way.

  • 2:37-2:52 Sonic(sees the Chaser): Dammit! Chaser:Ha! Take this! Sonic:Missed! I guess you still have some bugs! Chaser: GRRRR! (Chaser misses alot of times and gets pissed) Chaser(sees goal): Skrew the goal! (Fires missles) Sonic(gets hit): What the Hell is your promblem?!

  • It would've been cool if you could've put Generation's Rooftop Run in here, but that was two years to late. xD

  • You should have played "Back 2 Back" from Sonic Rush over this.

  • @ellisrgreen No thanks; the in-game audio is part of the comparison too.

  • is this the wii or ps2 version

  • @thenastyseganerd247 The first part is the Wii/PS2 version; the second part is the 360/PS3 version.

  • @Overhazard he ment which console did you use for this recording. I guess you used a wii and an xbox 360

  • @Back2631 Yeah, it's kind of confusing as the Wii and PS2 versions play exactly the same. And you're absolutely right.

  • @Overhazard Except for some of the models. Thanks for the slightly-higher-quality Wii version.

  • @TheSharpmarksman PS2 is way old than Wii,watch your mouth kid

  • PS2 version sucks becuse its old and poor

  • @TheSharpmarksman "Because it's old", that again. The PS2 is the greatest system ever. It's only 12 years old. You sir are a dumbass.

  • @TheSharpmarksman Ok, no. I didnt read your comment right. The PS2 version is my favorite. But the PS2 version is as old as the other 3 versions so really, half of your comment is wrong.

  • @That70sGamer1 im not sure if you would rather play ps2 games instead ps3 or xbox 360 but im sure as hell you dont own an xbox 360 or a ps3

  • @TheSharpmarksman I do own a 360 and not a PS2 but I dont usually play 360 and my b-day is coming and PS2 is everywhere. I used to own one though.

  • Why didn't they just make this game the same for all consoles?

  • @Dexster5011 My guess? SEGA was experimenting on what gameplay style would be more popular.

  • why cant sonic unleased can be this ... isnt sonic about speed and fun? well i love sonic because hes epic

  • @antiformsora99 I unfortunately can't tell you why Sonic Unleashed can't be more like itself.

  • This pisses me off. Did they not bother to check if the Wii could handle the HD gameplay? It was obvious it could when Colors came along. Seriously they took out levels and the things that made the HD games awesome and just left everything else in. I only like this game because you didn't get hurt by enemies just because you touched them and this game was ported to all three consoles. But thats it.

  • The ps2/wii one has more of the 3d view

  • The ps3/Xbox360 Verson is Amazing!!! But I wish i had the ps2/wii version too because they both have different things that make them fun

  • You got hit and lost your rings at the end of the wii version xD

I wonder if they had the robot in thePS3/Xbox 360 version and that happened, would it consider that you lost all your rings and you would have no ring bonus in your final score?

  • @DjangoZeroX No, it's never happened. The PS3/360 stages are designed so that the Goal Rings are far away from anything that can harm Sonic. Notice how the Aero-Chasers at the end there retreated a few seconds before Sonic got to the end.

  • I feel totally ripped off having bought the Wii version...

  • the PS2/Wii version looks like a fan made 3D Sonic game.

  • DUUUUUDE, THE WII AND PS2 VERSION MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SONIC 06!!! (and that's really saying)

  • @humzahayat333 Now that you mention it, it does look like Sonic 06. But the game overall is better on PS2/Wii rather than PS3/Xbox 360.

  • Yay Xbox ftw!

  • Forgoted to add (PS2/Wii)

  • please sega make bring back the sonic adventure series

  • You are too slow !

  • oh wow...... the wii/ps2 version majorly sucks in comparison to the ps3/xbox 360 version.....

AND WHY DOES HE ALWAYS GO "WAHO"! 1:56 and 2:06 are prime examples.....

  • Someone take this video and not give you a credit.

  • @TheSoncXD I figured as much, considering how it's picking up in popularity.

  • I played the wii version first and.. and... the dissapointment ;-;

But the Ps3/Xbox version looks awesuuuhm, NYAHHHH!

  • Sonic Unleashed was a torture with the night time stages, but the day time ones are absolutely beautiful, so in the end I think that it's worth it

  • oh Sonic games you still build hand eye coordination/reaction time like no other.

i don care what most ppl say i liked most of the sonic games. annoying who hah n all lol

  • what do you mean with rent? dont they sell in store? :( If I cant get it i will be very sad, i like this sort of games, is there any other games like annimated this way? thats fun to play, advice for wii games pls

  • @QQmoarify They ARE sold in stores. What I mean is that you can't tell whether you'll like it or not.

  • The graphics... T.T

  • Hey, I think xbox version looked better then wii, but i said i only have wii, with like 2 games, mariokart + Zelda, and i want get this, is it worth get wii or is it very bad?

  • @QQmoarify If you can find a place to rent it, do so. Sonic Unleashed is not for everybody.

  • Looks like the controls are crappy compared to colours and generations

  • @MoreLikeCappuccino I hope you were refering to the wii/ps2 games graphics being crappy.... because in case you havnt noticed colours graphics were terrible in comparison to unleashed on the ps3/xbox360, the wii just does not have the processing power.... :(

  • @000ThatsLife000 Re-read my comment slowly and tell me what you missed

  • @MoreLikeCappuccino I see.... you were refering to the controlls, still i disagree, the controlles are better than colours but not generations in my opinion... also in colors sonic was very difficult to controll when running

  • @000ThatsLife000 I never played this game, but from what i see in videos it looks like sonic was hard to control here. I guess the players just suck. I loved sonic colours controls

  • i only have the wii version and i still think the Xbox 360 kicks far more ass

  • that was a terible sonic unleashed

  • i can do better but still i dont like to fight with words

  • it seems like sega cares about fans with 360/ ps3 look at sonic generations its not on wii!!!

  • I like the Wii version the most...sure me Xbox/PS3 fanboys, because frankly, I don't give a damn.

  • I have the ps2 version :( i think is more easy to play than the WII version, but the other day i played the DEMO from the 360 version and i love it, i want the 360 version D:.

  • i might buy this game for 20 bucks. then another 20 bucks for the map packs only for xbox and ps3 i think. so total is 40 bucks

  • @TheJumpManX23 All right, that sounds fair.

  • i perfer the wii's short night time stages, while i perfer unleashed daytime stages just needs a lil more platforming

  • note:

the ps2 version has poor sonic model and poor model shadowing and animating

  • i have it on 360 (regretfully, not a ps3) but i HAD it on the wii when it first came out.. i have to say, the ps3 version keeps you on your toes, but when it comes to running in a straight line, the wii/ps2 version is faster. you just don't need as much reflex as needed on ps3.

  • The XBOX 360 and PS3 are almost the same. But the Wii version is very different than the PS3 and XBOX 360 and I dunno about the PS2.But I know on the Wii Version Sonic says something when he goes through a rainbow ring.

  • @bluesonicwrecks PS2 version is the same as the Wii one.

  • damn, he is really fast in the xbox 1.

  • what the fuck console are you using cause this is alot different than what i played

  • @hazardiz101 The first part of the video is the Wii version; the second part is the Xbox 360 version.

  • @Overhazard Yeah...the first part is the Wii because:

1: At 1:53, the "A" button shows in the screen.

2: The Homing Attack reticle is red. The PS3 and Xbox360 versions have green ones

3: The displays for the Boost Gauge and number of ring/lives look different

4: The stages have different structures, foundations, if you will.

If I'm missing something, let me know. =D

  • I don't remember the Wii version being so ugly.

  • your good at this game

  • @LBP0913 Thank you.

  • well i think Generations pretty much combined both to an amazing masterpiece. The gameplay fun of the wii version and the outstanding graphics and style from the xBox/Ps3 Version.

  • If there's one thing I liked more about the Wii version, it's how the boss fights weren't as heavily button combo oriented unlike the Xbox360 and PS3 versions. Most of the speed runs for the 360 and PS3 boss fights as well as the Tornado flight section were really based on how well you know the controller and how fast you can press buttons over again. At least the Wii version split up Eggmanland, and the day section was actually a decent challenge. The missions were also challenging later on.

  • 360 Version better. I played both versions and I would much rather have a REALLY LONG LEVEL that I die a lot in then 3 medium-sized levels and 2 have a time limit and when you die in them you have to START OVER then four riddiculous levels that take a long time AND endlessly frustrating (I AM talking about the Eggmanland of both versions) :C

  • I have the PS3 version of Unleashed. Is it worth to at least give the Wii version a go?

  • @Gorgabash If possible, give it a rental to see if you'd like it.

  • @Gorgabash It'd be a complete waste of your money, Ps2/Wii versions suck in comparison, which is why i was pissed when i got the Ps2 version cuz i dont have any next gen. systems DX

  • @Gorgabash Well the PS3 version has WAAAAY BETTER Day Stages (Although it's very long) but the Wii has less annoying Werehog stages (But the wii version don't have the "Press the Circle button to do a slow motion combo".)

  • I have the PS3 version and im stuck on the Eggmanland stage. Its so long and hard!

  • I like the 360 version better

  • I rented the Wii version of SU a few years ago. I was so bad at it; I kept crashing into things. I beat it before the rental time was up, and found it enjoyable. Even the night stages were pretty fun, although I wish there weren't so many, and the quirky dash cost me a few lives when I accidentally shot off a cliff.

More recently, when I saw a playthrough of PS3 SU, I was like, "WHAT? I don't remember this! O_o", not knowing that the two games are very different. Now I know. Thanks, Overhazard

  • I feel cheated seeing how i only got access to the PS2 version and seeing this it's like a whole other game.

  • WHOO!

    WHOO!

    rrrrAH

    WHOAHOHO! rrAH WHOO WHOO rrrAH

Jesus christ, does PS2/Wii Sonic EVER shut the hell up?!

  • @HodouLachance I'm guessing you don't go to many parties.

  • @Overhazard You uploaded a comparison of two different versions of the same Sonic game. I bet I go to as many parties as you. :D

  • @HodouLachance I kinda like the dialouge your saying in the 360 version (And he's so cute when he goes "Feelin' Good!" xD)

  • @GammaWALLE Well yeah, in the 360 version it's not nearly as bad. There it's just Sonic being loud and crazy as always.

  • @HodouLachance ^_^ Yup.

  • @HodouLachance He doesn't shut up in the 360 version either.

  • I love this game, but I hate the night-levels

  • hurray 4 unleashed wii!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • if sega can make sonic games look good, how come they cant make the game in general look good?

  • I like the Xbox360/PS3 better because the graphics is much better

  • @TheZman2826 graphics don't make a game, but The Wii/PS2 version is basically an incomplete game in comparison to the 360/PS3 version

  • This game was a really great way for Sonic to say good bye to the old PS2, it shall be missed dearly <3

  • the difference between the 2 is that the 360/PS3 version is using something called the "hedgehog game engine" that sega began experimenting with. at that time, the wii couldnt handle it. They had perfected it by the time colors came out. i haven't played either but I prefer the Wii version. A faster pace to the game doesn't matter to me seeing he wasn't all that fast in the genesis collection but we all played just for the experience. and the wii just seems it would give a better experience.

  • @jacobtwalker1 The Hedgehog Engine is used only for graphics. The only games to have used it are Unleashed and Generations. Sonic Colors didn't use the Hedgehog Engine.

  • @Overhazard the havok engine is used for faster rendering like the blast proccessing on sega genesis

  • @nintendude8VG BLAST PROCESSINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG! :D

  • @Overhazard Yet Sonic Colors has better graphics then Wii Unleashed! Lol!

  • @jacobtwalker1 but come on!! don't you enjoy the RUSH you get from PURE SPEED? don't tell me you don't find the game more enjoyable when you can not only boost but also side step and slide? i agree that sonic colors has more platforming and that that does make it enjoyable. but istill say that mondern sonic should be more about the SPEED!!!!!

  • @internetmovieguy not really. I don't get a rush, i get bored actually. the reason super sonic has been unplayable for over a decade is because it would be pointless. He's pointless in colors and generations. But that's another matter. I wanna get a feel for the stage and not just rush through it.

  • @jacobtwalker1 More so in Colors where he can't get S-Ranks on most stages or makes it much harder to

  • @jacobtwalker1 -.- It's worse in Heroes, 06, and this game then in Colors and Gens. TRUST ME!

  • @internetmovieguy i get a rush from the speed......

  • @jacobtwalker1 Not really. Seeing as how the Wii version was about 70% Werehog, 30% Sonic, while the 360 version was about 55% Sonic, 45% Werehog.

On top of that, both gameplay types are extremely better on the HD consoles. The Wii/PS2 version is very bland and consists of running in a straight line.

  • @TehComentar That person is just anouther loud-mouth Werehog-Hater. Ignore Him! v.v

  • @GammaWALLE Meh, he makes a good point though.

  • @TehComentar That this game will leave a bad taste in your mouth reguardless of the version? Yeah... :(

  • @GammaWALLE I dunno the Wii version was utter crap, the Xbox 360 version was WAY better, but it wasn't the BEST Sonic game.

  • @TehComentar DANG STRAGHT

  • @jacobtwalker1 I prefer the 360 version because it has SOME platforming. The bursts of speed feel artificial in BOTH versions and in BOTH it's very easy for me to get thrown out of whack. But in the 360 version they mastered they incorperated the level design WITH Sonic's speed, so it's only a problem in the Entrance Gates where your in a small space but can go at max speed.

  • this game is excellent XD

  • Poor Sonic, hes just a whore for other systems now.

  • @pepsiturtle22

you havent played colors or generations, it seems.

  • @martooxxx I think that was a complaint about SEGA being a 3rd-party company (which I don't mind at all).

  • ah, i remember good times raping the circle button for boost in sonic unleashed(ps2)

  • @bombermanwinner I hope you were holding it down and not tapping it rapidly.

  • @Overhazard in ps2 you have to tap it :\ the ps2 one sucks compared to ps3...

  • @Overhazard But doesn't the PS2 version use the single-use boost system from the Wii version, as opposed to the continuous, hold-the-button-down type from the 360/PS3 version?

  • @MetroidCommando It does. But mashing the button doesn't do you much good.

  • Even though I have and like both versions, i think the hd version is so much better

especially the day stages, they feel a lot more complete and sonic runs a lot faster

  • @Overhazard

My bad slight mix up there. Lol xD

  • The one thing I didn't like was the Wii/PS2's HUGE emphasis on the night stages, making the levels rather tedious. It just feels....imbalanced.

  • Excuse me for the bad Sonic Unleashed pun, but the difference is night and day ;p

When I get my PS3 I'm definitely going to buy this version. Sonic's day stages were too easy for me on the Wii, imho, but I still liked them

  • @xForgetxMeNot You're not getting Sonic Generations?

  • @Overhazard Tell me honestly, what did you think of this game? After playing Generations almost to 100% (just need to get all the Red Star Rings), I enjoyed the Modern stages much more than the Classic stages, so I'll probably pick this up seeing as it's around £5 preowned now, but I was just wondering if you liked the Werehog stages (I think they look pretty fun, and I have a high threshold for repetition) or if you just tolerated them in order to play the day stages, like most people seem to.

  • @MetroidCommando I'm enjoying them both, but in different ways. There are times when Classic feels better and there are times when Modern feels better.

I enjoyed Sonic Unleashed's Werehog stages. The Wii/PS2 version has the edge there, as there is a greater emphasis on platforming and are more difficult overall. There are a lot of them, however.

  • @Overhazard Yeah, I agree. Classic felt a bit under-used to me, as Modern Sonic takes on 2 Rivals and 2 Bosses while Classic only gets one each, but overall they were quite balanced. I'll be getting the 360 version of this, due to the Mazuri and Empire City stages, the DLC and the more even ratio of Hedgehog to Werehog stages. I should get a fair amount of enjoyment out of them, and as I said, I can tolerate repetition thanks to Samurai Warriors: Chronicles being my only 3DS game for 4 months.

  • @MetroidCommando Wanna know how I grew a tolorance to the Werehog levels? I played Pokemon games for a while and I felt right at home with the RPG elements both versions have

  • @Overhazard I've Game Overed TWICE in Empire City (Night) and once in the Wii version... ONCE! Even worse, I upgraded the Werehog a bit before replaying Empire City and STILL got a Game Over.

The Day stages were harder in the Wii because. of. the. MISSIONNNNNNNNNNNS! DX

I like the 360 version better cuz it is easier to control, faster, and the Missions are OPTIONAL! :D YES!

  • @Overhazard No, I have Sonic Generations but I can't play it til I get a PS3.

  • O_o The Wii version is as intense as the 360 seeing as the levels are exactly the same. I still dont dislike that despite Ps3 having a lower resolution to their graphics, that they get level redesigns and additions making its gameplay different and somewhat more fun for certain levels.

  • @TheKeroMs There are two versions of this game. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 get one version, and the Wii and PlayStation 2 version get the other version. It sounds like you're getting the versions mixed up.

  • The wii version is way different from the Xbox/ps3 version and the wii seemed much slower

  • is it just me or this graphics looks like the ones from sonic heroes?

  • the only real difference here is the lvl design and the rate of speed your clearly gong much faster in the xbox version ergo reflexes would be tested much more severely not to mention that the wii cant handle frame rates like that any way and if your relay having that much problem with the minute issues with the so called loose control i would dare say it is the player that should be evaluated (aka your bad)

  • @ruhiel Sonic Colors plays VERY similarly to the day stages in Sonic Unleashed, so I think it could handle the gameplay.

  • @Overhazard

But the engine PhysX for colors was made by Nvidia ¬_¬

  • 6:21 beats the wii version on its own

  • the wii version plays like one of those shitty 3d sonic fangames

  • @FunAndOnly Do I smell a hint of ignorance?

  • @corgal2 i own sonic unleashed wii and ive played those shitty 3d sonic fangames. the only difference are scripted events

  • -watches video-

-forgets what the video was about except for... well SONIC GAMEPLAY-

  • Sega does what Nintendon't......

  • This is no contest, Im a die hard sonic fan. I own both versions. The HD version is so much better than the wii version, it hurts just to try to compare. Its like comparing eating candy to shit.

  • The Wii version was good, but it was glaringly obvious that the 360/ps3 version was vastly superior. The wii had 2 less day stages (empire city & mazuri were cut), shorter stages overall, more werehog stages, werehog had less moves, the day stages were more empty, no continous boost, and just a less polished product overall. Its obvious it was treated more like a side project, percisely the reason Sonic Generation is 360/ps3 only, and 3ds for the side

  • My only complaint about the wii version is in the day stages sonic feels a little bit stiff when moving around. How he walked could have been a little more free. But its not that big of a problem. The Wii version was good but the xbox and ps3 versions are the superiors.

  • Its a com some how same stage better sonic model

  • The Wii version did have pretty awsome graphics if you look at it.

  • I really enjoyed the Wii version, but the HD one looks so much more awesome. Not often do I wish I could get an Xbox or PS3...

  • Ok the xbox has great graphic yea yea yea .The wii has worst missions blah blah blah If you all wanna be ungrateful about it ...why don't you complain about it to sega? Instead of taking it out on the uploader!

  • @morganlatonia I don't think anyone has actually taken it out on me.

  • @morganlatonia people have been complaining about segas destruction of sonic for years. however, its kind of hard to text them and say "hey, can you guys stop screwing up sonic plz? kthanxbye"

if you get their cell though, let me know!

  • @MrBurgundy76 Are you aware of the review scores Sonic Generations is getting? There hasn't been such a high percentage of positive reviews for Sonic in a long time.

  • @Overhazard oh of course i know, sega finally got their heads out there asses. im actually picking it up from gamestop in a hour, demo was awesome. only thing that disappoints me from what i hear is the length (5 hours) but im sure it has high replay value seeing as ive been playing the demo for a month.

  • @MrBurgundy76 All right then. Each area has 10 extra stages, of which you only have to do 1. The 5 hours people mention refer to the bare minimum needed to finish the game; if you want to go for 100% status, then that's not close to halfway.

  • @Overhazard got it. im playing right now, its amazing. a big step in the right direction for sonic! i guess i can complain how i wish there was a level from sonic 3 and generations though, that sort of disappoints. fun game though!

  • @MrBurgundy76 What on earth are you taling about? I meant that if some ppl want to fight between xbox/ps3 and wii/ps2 they should complain about it to sega.Instead of just saying this is better or sega should of did this.

  • IGN You idiot,i don't see how the PS3/XBOX Version got a lower rating then the wii, serously are they fucking blind.(No offence wii version but i just can't see the Wii advantage over the HD consoles)

  • @XxMrmoneyKing IGN's actually right. GameSpot's review for the Xbox 360 version argued that the controls were "unresponsive" in the daytime levels, and that most of them were "horribly designed," instead describing the Wii version as a "vastly superior experience," with its daytime levels praised for better control and design. Eurogamer, Game Informer, and Gametrailers agreed. That's because Dimps came in to redesign the Wii levels, eliminate the cheap deaths, and tweak the controls.

  • @EkajTheSwordsman I actually found the Wii's controls to be more unresponsive, especially in regards to quick turns and the boost.

  • It's times like these I wish I had an X-Box 360 or even a PS3.

  • the 360 version is definitely challenging, but it's all physical. to get S-ranks you just have to play the level often enough to know all the hazards. sometimes it takes too long to stay fun. i don't see that as an advantage over the Wii version, though i would if it took more thinking.

in fact it takes a little less cus there's just so much boost, it's hard to run out, while in the Wii version you might really wanna save up a bar for parts like the quicksand walls in shamar.

  • @TheJayman213 Playing both versions roughly equally, I'd say the Wii version's is less thinking--it functions more as a racetrack whereas the HD version's functions as more as an obstacle course. The Wii version's day stages don't become particularly tricky until Jungle Joyride for me.
