i cant help but think that the 4C written in the box was transferred onto the bottom card of the deck placed on top of it. A few reasons; he made Penn write in the box (why would that be), he made Penn but it face down (therefore leaving what was written on the top layer), he put a the cards on top and then a heavy can and then a phone, then took the cards off and put the can back on (what would be the point at all of placing the cards on top to begin with. ill tell you why, to transfer 4C on it
I think he probably messed up his routine and, instead of repeating the whole thing, they repeated only some parts, and edited the two runs together. Several objects change place on the table, and the bottom card of the deck is different at 2:07 and 3:04 (without anyone touching it, supposedly). There also isn't enough time in the video to insert Teller's card into the bottle and let it unfold. Finally, the bottle label is held with a sticker, which suggests an emergency reset.
@RFC3514 I doubt it was a mess up in his routine, TV has to edit things to fit in an allotted time slot, the act could of been 15 minutes long and the editor had to find a way to get it in to 5, so large chunks simply had to be cut to save time.

@TheBoBandit - It wouldn't be too hard to make it look sealed (the bottom "seal" could descend after the "can of anglish wine" is removed), but then why would he call people's attention to it by saying "as you can see, it's sealed"? There's clearly a cut at 3:33 (a glass appears in front of Penn and several objects change position), which is also likely to be the moment when he gets the card into the bottle.
@RFC3514 Yeah I was thinking along the same lines. I followed most of it pretty well, but then he drew attention to the bottom for some reason. It seemed like it wouldn't be too hard to fake a seal, as he opened the other end. I like his style, just would like to see it all uncut as the cuts in the video make it tough to judge.
It was a magic can of wine... and by that, I mean it was an advanced piece of tech that could read inside the black thing and display it inconspicuously.
@molbac I don't necessarily mean this actual video. I just mean in general. How can they believe them? Penn and Teller say themselves that magicians and illusionists are nothing but liars....
@derstrom8 In the pilot they mentioned they had a "master of magic" or something who was the final word on whether they were fooled. It sounded like the "master" is told the trick and they ensure that the performer can't lie about how they did it. That's just a guess, though.
@apostrophest That's correct. The producer is Johnny Thompson - the Great Tomsoni, and he has to be told each and every trick and how it's done. (You can hear Johnathon Ross talk to him through a headset in some of the acts).
Penn and Teller aren't stupid. They know magicians are inherently liars. After all, they ARE ones. They aren't going to let someone lie their way to Vegas. At least, not unless its through a magic trick.
its not hard, why would he put the card deck (white surface), the "bottle of english wine" and a cell phone (enough weight ) on top of a verry weird colored enveloppe?
@adekthejoker - There seem to be 3 significant cuts in the video (the one at 3:33 probably being the longest), which kind of ruins this kind of show. With a long enough cut, I could produce a grown chicken from an egg.
@Soundboy6 all that sleight of hand was misdirection. the only reason you saw it was because of bad camera angles. if you were right there chances are you wouldnt see it
@MartinChris95 Before entering the stage all magicians aggree to show the real inner workings of their effects to the Master Magician Johnny Thompson, as to make sure they won't lie if P&T catch their drift.
