  • The bass on these isn't quite as good as I would like but since I plug them into my speakers I just turn the bass up on the speakers to compensate. Otherwise they sound very good for the price. I paid $29.99 plus tax at Fry's in Dallas in the fall of 2010. I wear them for hours at a time talking to people on Ventrilo or watching stuff on Netflix and they don't bother me a bit, even with my glasses on.

  • I own these as well, you're saying the bass is really good on these? don't make me laugh! Use em for Voip and gaming but they are definately not suitable for music.

  • Dude, youtube doesn't support surround sound=.=

  • It's 2 years already. Hope you can still answer this. I am now down to 3 best headphones that I like. 377, 777 and Creative Lab 3D Alpha. They looks pretty much the same from looks and specs. Please reply. Thanks

  • @ItsTrailBlazersTime I gave the 377 and I love it, If i were you pick the 377,

  • does it work for ps3?

  • you might wanna get sound sync going on in your vid... just a suggestion :)

  • PLs help me i bought the 367 with the adapter so it can work with my ps3 but i cant hear the game when i use can U help me PLs

  • people are... wierd. lol xD

nice review, i think i'm going to buy them, 60 dollars is a nice price?

  • does it work on ps3?

  • Just a short question, is the mic good enough to be used for recording videos?

  • Thank you for the honest review

  • that "Virtual Barber Shop" is playing in stereo you need to play a game or watch a movie with surround sound to tell a differance

  • Do they work for the PS3?

  • You look a little like Tom Cruise.

  • I have the 377 and they are very nice I have personally ran them through a creative soundblaster card on my gaming slash media computer and equalized them for heavy milked bass and they withstanded bass tests that I would have sworn that would have made any other head set go ragged and they held up to the worst. I wish I could the same audio quality in my car without it costing up to 2 grand or so. This headset is great for listening to BassJunkies on Itunes internet radio

  • I also listen to a lots of different kinds of music for classical music you could swear that you were there, because they are that clear and crisp. For around $50 you really can't beat it

  • They are so huge on the head. That's the only reason why I won't pull the trigger on these.

  • @kalookakoo5 they are really light though

  • Does this work for PS3? I'm thinking about buying these but don't know if they work, or if have to buy something else to make work?

  • Is there any difference other than the sound card thing betwee the 377 and the 777?

I have a pair of 367s that I loved, and I just got a pair of 777s today that so far I love too. I actually had two pairs of 367s (long story) and I put one of them in the 777s packaging and returned them. so basically got a pair of 777 minus the card thing for $25 (original price of my 367s)

  • what about the mic quality?

  • You really shouldn't test the 7.1 off youtube. Try a movie with Dolbly 7.1 EAX. I have tested and completely hear a difference. Also if you have the game Bad Company 2 it supports Dolbly 7.1. Just a suggestion. But you're right its not true 7.1 its virtual so if you are an audiophile, I doubt you hear a difference.

  • These headsets are primarily for laptops, because we all know laptops have crappy audio speakers. Thats why the soundcard is there. It's not 7.1 surround sound, it's 7.1 Virtual sound, not really made for a desktop computer, it works great for music and gaming, havent tried out movies yet. the usb is only there because everyone knows that its such a hassle to get the jacks working when you have to move them to a certain spot where the actually work, in this case, u just plug them into the card..

  • are the 377 better then dr dre beats?

  • Hi jay!, im wondering if these are strong enough, because i've got a A4Tech HEADPHONES A4 HS-28 but they broke in less than a year, so i'm looking for a good and resistant pair of headphones, do you recomend me this ones?. Hope you can answer me! :) Nice review

  • that suck i just bought these for my ps3 wow

  • ok question i bought it and i have the adapter and i cant get it to work on computers with the adapter connected and on. Any suggestions?

  • I was just thinking but even on a low spec PC that can't run Call of Duty and all those higher spec games. Does a headset do something with your frame rate or something?

  • @jelle049

No.. All it does for you is that a very good sound quality!

  • @kronikx79 ok Thank you :)

  • are these good to listen to good bassy music say on my ipod on the way to college or something? i want something both for gaming and music. is it cool?

  • Does This Work On The XBox 360?? Plz Reply

  • @hereweyo5a

They do, you will need to buy some adapters as the USB adapter will not work. Also, your Microphone will not work either. These will only beable to be used as Headphones. If you are still interested then these are the parts you will need. 1-RCA to 3.5mm jack (one side has Red and White Component inputs and the other side has a 3.5 mm male headphone jack) then you will need 1-Female to Female 3.5mm coupler (Just 2 female jacks on both sides) Then everything is self Explanitory

  • @hereweyo5a Your better off buying some Gamecom 367's and a xbox 360 headset adapter. You wont be able to hear the gameplay through them, but you will be able to use it as a headset for talking in a party or whatever.

  • @hereweyo5a they do work as a mic go to radio shack and ask them for a 2.5mm adapter and you should be set to go i own a pair for xbox.

  • What is that guy talking about? I'm using Win7 64x right now, with these, and they work fine.

  • Do not Buy these If you Have Windows 7 64 bit. the Microphone will not work For you.

  • @SilentPokus

This is Incorrect. As I have had Windows XP 32 & 64 Bit, Windows Vista 32 & 64 Bit, and also Windows 7 32 & 64 bit. All of which, these headphones have worked on. I do not know why these are giving you problems, but I have had them working on my Laptop with all those OP systems. And they also work On Ubuntu 10.04 32 & 64 Bit if anyone is interested. I hope you can get these headphones to work on your computer, as they are pretty nice.

  • hey, ive bought it and they say that on mic they barely hear me, like the mic is far away from my mouth, can you help me where are the settings for more of that stuff?

    thanks.

  • @sugangamer

There are 2 things you can do. Im not sure if youve done this already, bt you could extend the Mic out. Im assuming your using a PC and not a PS3? If so, there are settings in the volume control area. You wold go into the input section, and go into the properties of the USB Microphone. I too had this problem with one of my installs, but is easily fixed. If you cant find where to change the setting, Im sure there are tutorials here on the Tube.

  • umm.. can i hear footsteps with these headsets..? nd does it have bass on it?

  • @darkbreaker1

Sorry for the wait. You can here footsteps with these. Very well actually, this was a big thing I liked about these. Also, the Bass is pretty decent on these as well.

  • i am french what the casque can go mobile(tel)

  • Will these work with my computer? because I play Combat Arms and would like to know.

  • @Nickizdaboss

Sorry for long wait. Im sure youve already fond your answer to this. But if not, these will work on your computer.

  • @jaymanski Okay, Actually i hadnt found the answer ahaha. Thank you.

  • hei man i DIDNT know that mic can be pulled out:) TEX MAN

  • Hi there. Your video has been so very helpful. I bought the 777's for my nephew for Christmas upon his request, not knowing anything about them or his xbox 360. He was very disappointed when he realized that they wouldn't plug into his xbox. I see in you video that all he needs is the adapter. Where do you suggest I get the adapter? What is the name/ type? Last question: The microphone option is not available on the 360, right? Thank you!

  • @AuntStacy1

I just answered your question to NahFahkit.... Both parts can be found at radio shack. You are correct about the Microphone, it cannot be used on the Xbox 360. In the video I said I found a way..... well I tried it out and it does not work... this is the only downside to these headphones, but other than that they are amazing.

  • Sooooo what do I need for these to work on my xbox 360?

  • @NahFahkit

In order to use these with your 360, you will need an RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter. It takes the Red and White RCA cords and turns them into a headphone plug. Then you will need a female to female 3.5mm jack adapter. Then you put that onto RCA adapter then plug your headphones into that. Both of these parts can be found at RadioShack.

  • @jaymanski would tht allow the mic to work too?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey man! . i wanted to ask you.. How long does the 377 headset last for?

Please give me a quick response . I need to know because i'm thinking about buying it but i want to be sure how long it lasts

    Anyone please respond to this!

  • I would like to know where you bought the "Dolby USB sound card"? I've looked everywhere and I can't find it.

I've heard it works the exact same as the 777, which is way more because it comes with it already. Essentially the 377 and 777 are exactly the same headset, just one has the adapter.

  • @chaossaga

I found my adapter on Ebay.... I must have looked at the perfect time as I cannot find the adapter by itself either anywhere else.

You are correct about the 377 and 777 being the same. The difference being one comes with the USB adapter.

  • where can i get the dolby surround sound adaptor? i try to look for it on ebay but i have no luck...

  • @kwdariceguy

Sorry for the wait. I found my adapter on ebay. I must have looked at the perfect time, because there was only one on ebay at the time. And I havent seen them anywhere else. You dont have to have the exact adapter from Plantronics, you can use ay USB sound card adapter.

  • thanks man, great review!

I was wondering could anyone help me with connecting the 377s to PS3. I got a cheap 3D soundcard on ebay to hook up the heaset through the usb port but so far I can only hear people's mics and can't hear any game audio like I wanted :(

    Please help..!!

  • @mwhooley93 u have got to get a splitter which takes in the red and white plugs from the ps3 and then be able to plug in the green one from the headset... it works cos my bro uses this for his ps3 and i helped him buy the stuff

  • @mwhooley93 if u have a headphone socket on ur tv use that ... its easier

  • Is this only for pc use, or can ps3's use this? im wondering since i might cancel my 90 dollar turtle beach px21 headset for this one since i can get them for 50...any help is greatly appreciated

  • @Drizzydid It can also be used on the PS3. The PS3 from what I have heard, is able to use the USB sound card. I am not 100% sure about this as i have a 360.... But I have looked into it, and a PS3 can use many other USB soundcards, and dont see why this one wouldnt work either.

  • @jaymanski wait so can you use the 377 for 360 as well?

if so what do you need for it to plug it in and get the surround sounds experience cos of the incompatible jacks.

  • I cant choose between 367 and the 377

  • @SianZTheLoner If your going to use it on PC or a PS3, I would get the 377's. But if its going to be for a Xbox 360, just get the 367's. The xbox cannot use the usb sound card, you need to get an adapter to go from the red and whit plugs to a headphone jack, also you cannot use the mic on the xbox. I hope this helps your decision

  • been using the 377s for about a year now bought em for about 40-50$ new no complaints or problems with em the mic works perfect it eliminates 90% of background noise the sound is amazing you can hear people on shooter gamers about 100 feet away if u turn em up just a all around great headset for the price

  • You can also use the tv's 3.5mm jack to get the sound from the xbox to the headset if the sound of the xbox is connected to the tv.

  • Really bad review, how about game behavior??? How does it perform??? Is it punchy and crisp, powerful enough???? We need DETAILS about this, not gibberish about connections etc, we need info about the sound itself!!!!

  • it mentions in the virtual barber shop demo that they use 2 microphones, you didnt hear a difference because its a stereo demo, not 5.1.

  • @girass

Yes, I realized this now. At the time, I was just ammazed by how nice they were lol

  • i have a sennheiser pc350 (VERY EXPENSIVE) and a Creative Fatal1ty sound card. I tried this headset on my friends computer with his integrated sound and i thought it was pretty ok, better than i expected (absolutely not bad) and then i tried it on my computer and DAMN it's freaking awesome!!!!!!!! i'm thinking of selling my sennheiser and buying this headset

  • @GotEmSkills

Im glad to hear that these headsets can stand up against the expensive brands. Im glad you like this headset, it's deff. alot cheaper than most

  • Thanks for the review!

  • Does the Mic work for MW2 PC?

  • @CableCaptain

Sorry for the wait, I am not certain since I do not play many PC games, I dont see why it wouldnt.

  • dont know if u already know, the surrounding sound coverter is only for 777

  • @miDnightStarCraft

Sorry for the wait. The surround sound converter will work with the 377 as well. All it is, is a USB sound card, it will work with any headset. It does kinda what the virtual barber shop does, it makes it Virtual Surround

  • @miDnightStarCraft ;D YEAHHH HE IS FUNNY

  • i have the 377 and use the on me ps3 with a usb sound card i got from ebay for £3 , works a treat, i usaully plug them into surround sound system then the mic into the usb soundcard and then setup the ps3 to have mic as input and then the output set to default so i can still hear the game sounds and people speaking

  • Umm

  • um u cant realy use youtube to test surond sound its basted on stero not 7.1 or 5.1 or what ever

  • Can you use this headset for the PS3? I'm thinking of buying it.

  • @Herro752

From what I have heard, you can use them on a PS3. I am not going to garuntee this as I do not have a PS3 to test on.

  • Surround Sound in headphones is a little gimmicky, IMO. A lot of people will tell you there is little to no difference between stereo headphones and 5.1 headphones, they're usually correct.

The 377 also runs through your sound card, so a good sound card can make the headphones very good, whereas the 777 is limited to its own built-in audio processor. IMO the 377 combined with a good sound card will actually give you the better audio quality.

  • @metalfaust19

I agree, that if you have a really good sound card, to get the 377's. But, the 777's do not have a built in sound card, you plug them into the sound card. Bothe the 377 and 777 are the exact same; except for one has red on it and the other doesnt, and one is packaged with the Dolby Sound card. So, if you have the 777's and have a better sound card, then you could use that instead.

  • there is no surround sound in the 777

  • @TheZembas

You are correct....... in a way. They are not truesurround sound, they are virtual surround. I have been using these while playing COD:MW2 and I can hear everything in any direction. Im not saying its as good as my 5.1 Sony Surround in my living room, but its pretty good for being a headset; in my opinion.

  • @TheZembas yh there is u noob, it actually has a 7.1 dolby surround.

  • these headphones suck, the plastic snapped on me while doing the simple task of taking them off. and they hurt my ears.

  • hey yo! I have been playing BF:BC2 and find a need for a 5.1 surround sound, I need something that it tell me what direction the noises coming from. Does this this head phone do the job.

  • @aataollar Sorry for the long wait. I have been extremley busy. These are awesome headphones, and will do the job for your surround sound needs.

  • just ordered the 377 model, thanks for the review, they look great, perfect for my needs

  • hey the 377's only have 1 speakers in each ear but the 777's have more than one speaker in each ear, that's why just the dongle wont give you that "surround sound" feeling. You need the actual 777 that will give you that Experience your looking for

  • @ThunderWolf0070 the 777's still only have 1 speaker in each its surround sound and honestly gamers dont need or shouldnt really want this 5.1 7.1 etc stuff thats just a gimmick stereo head sets are the best just get a good pair that fits nice and have good bass thats what matters games do a really good job with alrdy doing there own version of virtual surround sound also note if the game is only in 7.1 it doesnt down grade it self to 5.1 so u hear it as stereo anyways just food for thought

  • Thanks for the review - love the part where you say "people are weird", LOL

  • These ar fucking epic!!! Everyone that is looking for a cheap and an amazing headset with HD quality you need to get this!! I just happened to stop by BestBuy and I saw these beast headphones and now I am using it :D You will love them!

  • so your saying if i get and xbox 360 mic adapter itll work for xbox 360?

  • @kurdishskater Yes he is.

  • @PlatinumMontageFilms ok is there a recomended adapter?

  • @kurdishskater The 777 Dolby Adapter,it says in the description.Try to Google Plantronics 377 ad 777 Dolby adapter

  • so your saying if i get the xbox 360 adapter itll work with these headsets?

    please message me back please

  • Do you hear the ingame sound and can talk at the same time on the PS3?

Sry for my bad english, im swedish.

    Thanx

  • 2:41 you said they really doesn't do a change?

so, as you said after there ISN'T a considerable difference between

    with USB (777) and 377,

can you PLEASE confirm me? (fast if you can, thanks in advice!)

  • @666alberto This is correct. This may be because I have a pretty good sound card on my laptop, so if you have an older computer I would suggest getting the USB adapter(777).

  • @666alberto Watch this video. He shoes how to set up your headset for the PS3. If you dont have the 3.5mm jack on your tv, use a RCA to 3.5mm jack converter and plug the PS3 into that.

  • @jaymanski but i don't need to use the PS3 =), i just would like to know if there is an effective improvement using or not USB adapter,

(considering that i have a pretty good Realtek audio driver).

instead in the video at 6:40 he said HE DON'T know if the sound out is 5.1 or other..

ps: i've also read that they have like 3 speakers on each hear, but not 5, that's quite impossible and exists just in really few models very expensive..

i hope you get all=) sorry for my english=)

  • @666alberto Cant link video in a comment, so copy and paste this into the Youtube search bar, it should be the first one to pop up.

    PS3 surround sound headphones

  • does it work with PS3 and Xbox 360 ??? and how can i do it please give me answer as soon as possible ... thanx.. and btw am looking to a lot of answer i just dont understand they all are like repeating the same q???

  • @zaka213 Just read my last post to use it for the PS3. To use it on a 360, you will need a 3.5mm jack to RCA red an white adapter. Youll then plug the headset into the 3.5mm jack side, then plug the RCA's coming from the 360 into the RCA side of the adapter. You willl not beable to use the mic on the 360, but from what I have heard, you can use it on the PS3. I am not 100% positive about that last statement.

  • does this headset work for ps3? and if so, how do I do to connect it? Please help! ;(

  • @galten123 It does work with the PS3. You just plug the USB adapter into the PS3, then go to the sound settings, and change the output to the USB Device.

  • @jaymanski heyyy i did that but it didnt work galten the only thing that work was the mic ????? and yeah even thoug when am on the game i dont hear the sound of the game the gun shooting the sound nothing i just dont understand . if u know the way to fix that please reply asap. thnx

  • wait so you saying i can use this for the 360 and itll be like a turtle beach?

if not which headset is a cheap good headset like the turtle beach

  • It depends on your Soundcard. If your Soundcard is good, you just need the 377. If your Soundcard is bad, you need the 777 ^^

  • does the surround sound work with xbox 360

  • @inkwell010 yes, the surround is very good on the 360. The only problem is you cant use the mic

  • Ok thanks for the advice. But the surround sound in them is unbelieveably clear. But yeas Microsoft are really fuking stingy with not being able to use a USB mic

  • I bought a set of the gamecom777 the other day for my 360 reckomended by a friend. Do I have to buy a 2.5mm Jack attachment that will come out of my controller with 3.5mm hole for the microphone plug to go in for the the mic to work????

  • Correct. I have tried this, and the 2.5mm jack in the controller is extremely loose, and you must hold the plug in the whole time and at a perfect angle; if not your mic will not work. I just don't use the mic when I play with the headphones on. I wish Microsoft would make it so you can use the USB audio like PS3 does.

  • how do u set it up! cuz im trying to play a game and idk how to use it! UGH do i gotta download it or sumthing

  • Sorry for the wait. If you are trying to use it on a computer, it should be plug and play, sometimes you have to change your playback device to the usb device instead of onboard. If you are trying to use it on 360, it will not work, you need an RCA to headphone jack adapter; you can get these at RadioShack.

  • plz reply.

can u use that for ps3?

if so where did u get it n how much did u get it for

  • From what I have read and heard from others, you can use this on the PS3. I am not saying that it will, as I have a Xbox 360. I bought mine on ebay, you can get an open box for $40 shipped.

  • yes you can use these (I have the 367's) with the PS3.. all you need is a usb soundcard (available on eBay for cheap) to plug the mic into. Works real well.

    Hope this helps! Enjoy.

  • Hey, I plan on getting Plantronics GameCom 377 but what do u mean that i need a usb soundcard to plug the mic into? atm I'm using a decent cheap 15 euro headset and i have the mic cord and the sound cord... i just plug them in the front of my pc and people can hear me and i hear them and other things.

  • We were talking about the PS3 connections.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats what I use now, I plug my xbox red and white cables right into the headphones with a red/white to headphone jack adapter.

  • the 377 dont have the same amout of speakers in the headpones......777 has more speakers and a sub in the headset.... cant compare the two. or expect to jsut hook up the usb driver and having surroud sound..... like havng an old shitty t.v. (coax only input) and adapting to a hdmi cable.... USER ERROR

  • I am sorry, but you are wrong. Niether headsets have multiple speakers in them. The 777's are virtual surround. This means it tricks you into thinking that something is behind you. There are actually speakers that make the sounds in front and seperate ones for the rear. There are just 2 speaker; left and right. And yes, 377's and 777's are the same, except one comes with the dolby digital USB sound card.

  • watch the break down video of a 777, it has 4 speakers in each cup. 8 total.

  • I cant seem to find it, could you post a link. I would really like to see this for myself. I would like to see, because all the professional reviews I have seen keep saying virtual surround with just 2 speakers.

  • im sorry, you were right, i was think of a turtle beach headset :D

  • And how the fuck do you plug in the mic? I have a Sharkoon sound card wich only gives analog outputs. Could I plug in the 377 there and have the mic?

  • Yes. The Mic has its own plug. The cord coming from the headset will have 2 jacks, one for the headphones and one for the mic.

  • I'm talking about a PS3, and my card doesn't have USB connection, it's only connected with the PS3 via optical fiber. So I think I'd hear the game, but not the chat and I wouldn't have the mic?

    I'm really confused.

  • Sry for the wait. You are correct, with your sound card, yo will only beable to hear the game and will no beable to use the mic. If you look on ebay, you can get a USB sound card for like $10-$20 shipped. This will let you hear the game and use the mic.

  • Thanks for the help. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry for that mix up, I havent talked about these in a while. You are correct that the 377's and the 777's are both open ear. I was thinking of the 367's instead of the 377's. I will correct you on one thing. They are both exactly the same, as they are both Virtual Dolby 5.1 Surround sound. The difference being the 777's come with the USB adapter and the 377's do not come with the adapter. My source being Plantronics themselves. Again, I am sorry for my mistake.

  • the barber shop thing was meant for stereo sound

    maybe that's why its echo

  • what if u want 2 use it with the ps3??? u need the usb adapter dont u?? i really want 2 get a cheap gaming headset n i dont want 2 buy the turtle beach p21

  • From what I have heard, this headset will work woth the PS3. YES, you will need the usb adapter.

  • @gorn151

by a USB soundcard and buy the 367 or 377, then plug the microphone into the usb soundcard, and the audio to the tv. The USB soundcard is incredibly cheap, look on ebay. It says 3d audio or sumin on the side.

  • Great 1st review! I got the 777 but I think the 377 pair looks better because of the red it has =[

  • i looked at the 777 OR the 377 today, are u sure they are the same exept for the color? because i saw a video of a plantronic rep saying one is soround sound, and one is open ear please help i dont know what to buy!

  • The 777's are an open ear design. This means your ear is completly free with nothing touching it. The 377's are a closed ear desing. This means that there is less space for your ear. Most likely your ear will be touching the inside. Both are the exact same except for the differences I just mentioned.

  • just bought the 777

  • Congrats!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

  • just waiting for them to come from overclockers, how often do they update the drivers, i bought this for my partner i have the g35 which i love this looked like a good buy, she likes the over ear like mine

  • There are no drivers that need to be updated. The USB adapter has drivers installed on it already. Thats why I like these so much, their plug and play, and theres no hassle using them on a new machine.

  • ah i see i didnt look into this headset much it was like a 3rd option others were out of stock, sounds good thanks.

  • The virtual barber shop audio is generated in stereo sound, meaning L and R audio only. If you were to use any headset with surround sound it would sound the exact same as it would with a normal headset. You hear an echo in the gamecom 777's because the 5.1 surround sound is emulated.

  • Well thanks for the information. I never did try that with regular headphones, I think I will though. All in all, these headphones do simulate 3D sounds very well. I use them plaing COD on Xbox, and I can hear everything behind, left, right and in front of me.

  • can you give me amazon link to the converters you use, or atleased the names. For the xbox conversion btw

    Thanks

  • how long is the cable of the headset?if you could reply i would be most grateful

    tnx

  • The overall cord length is 6 1/2 ft. the volume control is 20in. from the headphones, it sits on my lap with the perfect amount of slack.

  • Where did you buy them at?

  • hey, sry for the long wait. It got marked as spam and didnt see this. I got them on ebay new and shipped for $20. They were an open box though.

  • great review. I have one question:

Does the sound leak out much? e.g. if you have your volume up are the people nearby going to hear it?

trying to make my mind up on the 367 or 377 and im definitely leaning towards the 377's after your review :)

  • They do leak, but not a whole lot. People around you wont notice, unless you really have the volume up.

  • thanks :) i'm going to buy them now

  • i even rubberbanded my wireless xbox mic to my headphones so i can have the sound and communicate

  • haha. thats not a bad idea.

when I said that I was going to make something to beable to use the headset to talk online. I tried it, and it didnt work out too well. Its very confusing and I just junked it.
