  • While I agree that there is Roy Buchanan in his playing, I think Jim has a unique style/take on emotional expression through guitar. No one has hit it on the head, in regard to telecaster emotion, since Roy, like Campilongo does. I am a enormously huge fan of Roy, and I feel that Jim Can get to the same places and feels that Roy does, but in his own unique way. Rock on Jim! You're a genius.

  • This guy is able to get sounds from the guitar strap! Amazing!

  • speechless

  • It 's with a great economy of tools that

one accomplish the beauty and simplicity of expression ..

  • Totally amazing. Sounds and fells like a very happy ballad.

  • Truly extraordinary & original style of playing! Thanks for posting this - made my day!

  • No B bender.

He is playing a 1959 telecaster top loader.

    Jim is great!

  • Looks like the original pickguard on it too. =)

  • One of the most unique styles of guitar around today. With a lot of players you think 'I could sound like him, if I practiced hard enough...' Jim is one of those guys no one could ever sound like. Like Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix.

Totaly original and unique. Mind you it's love it or hate it stuff.

  • Except Roy Buchanan who he sounds just like

  • There's no way I could ever get as talentous as he is.

    GREAT vid.

  • He said in a Guitar Player interview published this month that the '59 is just about worn out. His new signature Tele is out now.

    Ron

  • lembra minha avó quando ela tinha os 6 dedos... ótimo!

  • sounds like a b bender on his tele....

  • Nope, no B-bender there. Just a monstrously strong left hand and a lot of "behind-the-nut" bending.

  • Very nice, reminds me a little of the Jeff Beck solo stuff as well as the tags you listed.

  • Your hand doesn't have to be that strong, it just kinda hurts your fingers. =)

  • Well put. It's more about pain tolerance than actual strength when pinching behind the nut.

  • @ryanjurek very true. Especially if you've got 0.11 strings on. Man, I tell you, that can really hurt.

  • Jim You are great!

  • ...wow.

  • Great stuff... brings back wonderful memories of the Living Room, NYC, may 2006. Thanks Jim!

  • This is the first time is see/hear his music. He shure is one of its kind...

    I like it

  • Jim C. is the sickest and most twisted. This is beautiful music and truly virtuosic.

  • Wow... a blues with some changes...I like it!!!

  • Demented in a very cool way.Great Stuff.

  • Jim - you're a very sick man.

This is a truly awesome example of twisted telecastering.

You've made my day. Beautiful. :-)

  • Wow, Gina D was right...Jim Campilongo is amazing.

  • Jim Campilongo rocks. Great tone, tasty playing, nice songs.

  • Twangy!
