My sister works at M.A.C and for her model she brought my mom, and it was alot comfortable for her. They thought it was really sweet and my sister of course know my mom's face very well, she aced it.

@MissFabpre No, most makeup counters/Sephora will not hire until you are at least 18. MAC tends to hire older, more experienced artists. You need to have retail experience (understand cashwrap, how to bring a customer to the point of sale, etc.) before they'll even bring you in for an interview. The big thing is that having younger consultants wouldn't show enough authority or integrity to customers.

No u do not. But wen inquiring about a job for MAC mak sure ur face is beat, flawless, n well blended. But it helps if u kno about MAC products for ur interview.

Hi! Thank you so much, your tips are very helpful! I have a questions though, do I need or have to wear MAC products when I go in for the interview or to hand in my resume? Does that matter? I unfortunately dont have that many MAC products :(

@jewelspop You don't need to bring the products or wear them there (I don't know how they would tell what brand you are wearing, but LOL). They'll provide you with all testers needed for the makeover portion of the interview. They care more about experience and ability over how much cash you have to blow on pricey products.

@Vanessa95076 Just ask a consultant for an application, and then (if they don't explain it to you), ask who you should contact, the GM's name, and how long until you will hear back. Fill out the application within a day, or even that day, and return it, ideally to the same consultant. That way they'll remember your name and face. =)

Thank you for the info, Im applying for a job as a cashier at MAC. first a phone interview and then I dont know, hopefully they will like me :) Im from England so I think it may be a bit different here. but Im not sure, these tips definitely helped though!

@spandexblondex honestly.. i was blessed enough to have a referral from another mac employee.. but I'd recommend just ging to the store looking neat and have ur makeup well done and ask for the application papers!

I do very unique eye makeup and always get complimented daily for it...I've been to MAC a few times about a job, but no one calls me back cuz I don't have sales experience (I believe that's the reason)...how did u approach the manager about being considered for a job? Did u do a really dramatic look? It seems like you're makeup is very simple, so I wanted to know what look you did
