It truly is remarkable how close & heavy hearted these characters are to us. The ones that know the feeling of looking at your own placement in this fucked up world we live in, & feeling powerless to alter it no matter how much you strive for it.
Romanticly, Shinji is intrested in Asuka and not Rei. He befriended Rei becuase she like him dident have many friends. Shinji is attracted to Asuka's bossie personality even though he eventually find out that inside shes feels just as hopless and defenceless as he does.
you can find it @ amvs . org. apparently, it coencides w/ a fanfic by the editor. info is at the end of the vid. also, i think rei/shinji is the best of the coupling scenarios. and she's only half his mother. the other half is lilith (or that's what i thought).

That's where I got it from. I just put this on here a few months after reading the fan fic so I couldn't remember who the original creater was.
