@ReginaOverTheRainbow In all fairness, at least some are seemingly able to differentiate between the actor and character...but I can understand the alarm and frustration on your part. Buffy writer David Fury once opined that chicks who went overboard fangirling vampire Spike (this would be during his pre-soul, Buffy-stalking-and-threatening phase) reminded him of women who write love letters to convicted serial killers. :/

@RachelSummers777 Eh, I think when you KNOW it's a character people find it easier to "see the good" and not feel threatened: whereas with a real life person, you KNOW they have hurt someone in real life. I'd think girls who pine over Chris Brown is a more apt comparison.

But that's neither here nor there, and you're very right, it's like when Spike was evil and creepy and yet sexy, so you felt Buffy's turmoil in KNOWING he's bad but being attracted and feeling ashamed of yourself. Like here!
