  • Your post didn't even make sense. I asked valid questions. You can't just shout talking points at me and say they're answers.

  • Kill the 3000 pg HC Mandate ""TAX & JAIL"" Trojan Horse Bill Nobody wants..

& Stop Creating Jobs @ Taxpayer Expense $75,000 Cost To Taxpayers fo jobs he gives to his cronies ON MY DIME..

    Stay out of my business..

    Take a hike..

The HC 5 Year WAR for REPEAL will begin...NOW

    Kill the Fecal Infested Bill..

    Nobody wants it...

  • Maybe you'll live thru the next FOUR YEARS of Donations you'll be making to an UNKNOWN cause you're likely to never see any benefit from...

  • Well, it could be true that America is just too corrupt to have a National Health care system, although the vast majority of western countries and democracies do. America should really do an honest investigation. By the way, really wealthy people will always get better health care. It's obvious, but don't let it stop you from improving your own system. Ultimately improving the system will cost insurance companies, but screw them.

  • Anyone could be proud of a nation where any citizen, regardless of income, can go see a doctor and get treated (not just emergency room stabilization) if they get sick or injured.

The red-neck, paranoid, self-centered attitudes of many of the idiots on this thread is something America should be ashamed of.

  • read the fine print we are not getting what you descrbed we are getting forced to buy private insurance and then the really sick will get the public option which we will pay for. i want what you described but its not happenned. we have a one party system. they just fake like enemies they even party together. the jokes on us

  • No, you are getting far short of what I described. The bill keeps getting watered down in a ridiculous attempt ar "bipartisanship" with a GOP who only want's to kill any chance of an Obama success, by killing the bill if possible, or by watering down or eliminating the public option so there is less chance of the bill being successful.

  • there never was a public option. obama never said anything about public option in 2008. he is owned by the same power who owned bush. since im healthy ill have to pay a PRIVATE BUSSINESS, and pay higher taxes for the sick and indigient who will be own the public option. i want what england has universal health coverage for all. f... a public option crap

  • Yes, a single payer system is cheapest, most efficient, & covers all citizens with basic h.c. It eliminates advertising, profit, high admin. costs & multimillion $ corp. wages & private jets. You don't have to file claims, study the fine print of competing plans, or risk having to fight an insur. co. for claim payment. Providers don't have to deal with hundreds of private plans. And everyone is still free, if they wish, to purchase supplementary private insur.

  • "The red-neck, paranoid, self-centered attitudes of many of the idiots on this thread is something America should be ashamed of."

Not when the cost is a decline in quality (required), a shortage of doctors (required), rationing (a result of fewer doctors), and inviting government into what it has no business being in!

  • You are so narrow minded you could see through a keyhole with both eyes.

  • You are so blindly trusting you would trust a muderer to put a gun to your head and not kill you.

My comment is logicly sound. Your trust in government to make things easier is as far from logical as you can get.

  • That's the beauty of a public option. Don't trust gov.t or the private corp.'s. Let'em all have a plan & you chose the one that's best for you. Maybe if the private corp.'s had some real competition they would have to curtail some of their multimillion $ CEO salaries & corporate jets.

  • You do love that koolaid. Any and all plans the government starts will have a way for them to control it.

And yes competition is good so WHY THE HELL ARE THERE STATE-BORDERS RESTRICTING IT?!

And those CEOs work their butts off for their cash. THEY have no reason to pay for YOUR healthcare.

They earned their money and they should get to keep it. Period.

  • Someone fighting for insurance corporations instead of for h.c. access for all Americans??

    You disgust me.

  • "You disgust me."

    I disgust you?

Cool. Since if I didn't I'd be a mindless dog like you.

Of course I fight for business AKA the job creators.

  • Yeah, those poor old heath care insurance giants sure need some pathetic fool like you fighting for them.

Mindless dog's have more intelligence than you.

  • better than letting the government kill them to fill their own pockets. Private sector has ALWAYS paid better than the public one.

And besides that bigger companies hire more workers. Which translates into more people paying taxes and less people on the streets.

My info is logicly sound. Which puts it head and shoulders above yours.

  • Yeah. So why did so many of the "big companies" want government welfare to bail them out?

Your dime store economics comic book is laughable.

  • 1) Why don't you ask the GOP why they didn't allow cross-state insurance competition while they had the reins of power for most of the last 8 years.

    2) If you want cross-border competiion you should support this bill, because the "exchange" it sets up in effect encompasses cross border competition for private insurance plans. (Something the GOP will never point out to you idiots.)

  • I refuse to support a bill like this on principle. Why would I suport it when I know for a fact it will go bad?

  • You don't know fuck all, except what the GOP propaganda machine has jammed up your ass.

  • you are a fool who believes what your tv tells you to believe they give you your arguments no wonder our country is in the toilet because uneducated babyfed wana be smart people like you. turn your tv off and think 4 yourself and let that be that who knows you might solve some real problems but you want so watch fox or cnn and continue to be a sheep led by corprate intrest and international banks

  • REAL: If you can refute it then feel free to do so as personal attacks are rarely undertaken by people who can refute the other sides points.

So these attacks signal to me and everyone else your lack of contradictory proof.

    Same as mega "rational".

  • 2009 poll by Nanos Research:86.2% of Canadians surveyed supported or strongly supported "public solutions to..health care. 2009 Harris/Decima poll: 82% of Canadians preferred their healthcare system to the one in the United States, more than ten times as many as the 8% stating a preference for a US-style health care system.. Strategic Counsel survey in 2008: 91% of Canadians preferring their healthcare system to that of the U.S

  • Gov dental plan, If it hurts, Chew on the other side! Thats a plan that works, Really! Gov health care, Got a belly ach, suffer, Got a head ach, suffer. Need an operation, Die before you cost the system money! Hows that for Change we can count on!

  • Simple Facts. Its like in war, If you get to sick, You just die.

  • i just wander in the future will people able to see thru this bullshit. i hope so

  • I'm a vegetarian and this shit scares me! These health care muthafuckas are gonna make me eat meat and I am a fucking vegetarian!

On a separate note Japan is more capitalist than the good ol' USA yet their health care is affordable and everyone has it. America's health care system is so fucked up right now from greedy ass health insurance companies and greedy doctors. But what do I know I lost my job and broke my leg and I owe a hospital $40,000.

  • This video is a textbook classic of a propaganda film.

Coincidentally it's the same propaganda that Republicans and health insurance companies always use to block health care reform.

  • it makes me think my fellow americans are dumb or mindfucked by the commercials and the so call 2 party system

  • What do you mean "or".

  • The absurdity of this propaganda film can be proven in many ways. For example, Doctors report a nightmare of bureaucratic interference when dealing with HMO's and private insurance co's, but little or no bureaucratic interference when dealing with government run medicare. I've lived in Canada, under a universal health care financing system, for 60 years. Not once did any government bureaucrat come between me and my doctor or in any way interfere with the treatment my doctor prescribed.

  • Doesn't this idiot realize that under the present system private insurance companies tell you what doctor you can see, what treatment you are allowed, whether you can go to a hospital, what hospital you must use, how long you can stay in the hospital, and what lab must be used.

  • You do know what you have a choice in what insurance you use, right? Pay attention man!

  • a) insurance co's all operate the same way, what choice is that? b) You nave fewer choices and at higher cost if you are older but not yet at retirement age. c) you have NO choice if you have a preexisting condition. d) your choice is limited by the amount of health care premiums you can afford. e)(If you love "choice" so much, why would you deny anyone the right to choose a public option insurance plan?

Apparently you are the one not paying attention.

  • all other activities of government must be cut to the bone; or tax burdens must rise. AND ARE!

  • interest on the interest. At that point, total spending, the deficit and the national debt begin to go straight up (Congressional Budget Office 2008).Analysts make such long-run projections to show that they cannot happen. Obviously, foreign and domestic public and private investors will stop buying our debt long before deficits explode. Therefore something has to give?hopefully before there is a crisis in international capital markets. The three rapidly growing programs must be reformed

  • burden remains constant at its 50-year average of slightly more than 18 percent of GDP and if we devote the same fraction of GDP to defense nondefense spending, and other entitlements and if Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are not reformed, deficits are bound to soar. Eventually, they explode because the national debt begins to rise so rapidly that the interest bill on that debt starts to dominate total spending. We begin to borrow to pay interest and we? ll end up borrowing to pay

  • Maybe we should reform our "Defense" spending first. That would fix Social Security, Medicare, (Medicaid is a state run program) first. When the Iraq war is all said and done, that little catistrophic debacel will have cost us 3 TRILLION dollars. Imagine what kind of health reform, SS reform, Medicare reform, etc. we could accomplish using that 3 Trill! We spend more on our needless MIComplex than all major countries combined. Total fucking waste of money!

  • The cost of the Iraq war is miniscule compared to health care reform. Look it up.

  • We are STILL in Iraq. The last estimate I heard when all is said and done, including all VA healthcare costs, the Iraq war will cost 3 TRILLION. The US healthcare reform is NOTHING compared to the final costs of that needless, illegal, and immoral war!

  • old people and because there are relatively fewer young people. The baby boomers did not produce enough little potential taxpayers to support them well in their old age. If baby boomers had had as many children as their parents, tax revenues would be growing more rapidly and the long-run budget problem would be much less serious.

Given that the three large programs are growing considerably faster than tax revenues, the arithmetic of the long-run problem becomes pretty obvious. If the total tax

  • In addition to serving a growing elderly clientele, Medicare and Medicaid face soaring health costs per beneficiary. Historically, per capita health costs have grown by somewhat more than 2 percent per year faster than incomes per capita. Over the long run excess health cost growth presents more of a budget problem than the aging of the population, but there is an important aspect of aging that is not much discussed. The average age of the population is growing both because there are more

  • A lot of anti-republican comments are being deleted, or marked as SPAM.

    YouTube, are you choosing sides?

  • Also, we have public and private universities with no problem. UC Berkeley which is PUBLIC is just as good as Stanford which is PRIVATE. The difference: Berkeley cost half as much as Stanford. That's the difference. A PUBLIC OPTION. If there were no state schools, how many people would be left with no degree? Same as people left without health care. Without the educational public option I would not have a degree.

  • This is a bad metaphor. A public option is an option. People who want to eat at the buffet and PAY for it still can. The ones who want free care will have to eat the canned FOOD. but not EVERYBODY. This commercial is stupid.

  • Way to water down a complex issue. Right now we are in a "restaurant" that watches people starve to death or bankrupts them by over-charging for the food. If our current health insurance options were not for-profit companies a government option for people who can't afford health insurance would not be a problem. Too bad we're so greedy we can't help others.

  • This is so fucking stupid.

We already have government run health care. It's called Medicaid and Medicare and it works wonderfully. Every other country on the nation that's actually worth a shit has some form of government sponsored health care, and they all live longer than we do.

The government wouldn't tell the doctors what to do you fucking idiots.

It would be GOVERNMENT SPONSORED INSURANCE. If you don't like it? Well, then you can always get the private option.

    Fucking morons.

    .

  • so...disagreeing with you makes one a "fucking idiot" or a "fucking moron"? and you are...?

based on your language and extremely broad generalizations, i would guess that, like most of the people clamoring for "reform", you're just a kid with no real-world experience, who never even heard of health care reform until the messiah started talking about it this year.

  • Like most people against reform, I'm guessing you've been duped by the "conservative" media into believing shit that is akin to this little youtube video here.

You've also probably never been without insurance so the whole, "Look at me! I'm employed! I'm going to be ok forever!" thing makes you feel safe.

Listen smart-ass: I know that previous presidents such as Nixon and Clinton have wanted reform, but it's such a bitch to pass because of lobbyists and brain-drains such as yourself.

  • sorry dude you are wrong. Medicare, Medicate, and "all of the other government ran programs" are failing & not working they are going in to debt.

Social security failing. Just like all the debt we have each person is responsible for about 50,000 dollars each of our National debt. Thanks to bad politicians over the years.

Every thing the government has control over fails.. its fact. Hell the Post office is failing and that is government ran. DMV, HMO's..

  • You stupid fuck.

Medicaid and Medicare are run EXTREMELY efficiently. Unless my two doctor professors telling me this are wrong, of course.

  • Most people have heard that the United States faces a severe long-run budget problem. It is often called an "entitlement problem," but that is misleading. On the spending side, only three programs are to blame: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Before the recent run-up of spending related to the recession and stimulus program, the three constituted almost half of noninterest spending, and all three are growing faster than tax revenues. They are growing rapidly because a large

  • portion of their benefits is devoted to the elderly and the elderly population is growing rapidly as a result of the aging of the baby boom and growing life expectancy. Baby boomers started receiving Social Security in 2008 and the first one will apply for Medicare in 2011.

  • Actually, Medicare is run more efficiently that private insurance. The proof is that Medicare overhead rates have always been far lower than that of private insurance companies. Doctors even have less admin costs dealing with Medicare. Medicare is going broke because of the disgraceful system which allows insurance companies to cherry-pick young healthy people who contribute more than they cost, leaving the elderly and those with higher costs to ve covered by Medicare and gov't run programs.

  • Obama promised no tax increases for anybody who makes $250,000 or less per year.

This new health care plan would tax the middle class via the following ways:

    a. Penalty for not signing up for health care (i.e. Tax)

    b. Placing taxes on medical devices and other medical expenses that people can now write off on their taxes.

Obama's lied about his promise; what else will Obama and the federal government lie about once health care reform is in place?

  • Some young people think they should be able to choose not to buy insurance or contribute to the health care system. When they get sick or injured they still wind up in the emergency ward and their care is paid for by taxpayers. If and when they get to age 65 they still take advantage of Medicare. If you don't contribute to the HC syst by buying insur. then you will at least contribute by the amount of the penalty. If that's a tax, then private insurance plans are a tax.

  • A dishonest, poorly crafted and inaccurate metaphor: 1) Coverage and Care are not the same. The debate now is over universal coverage, not care 2) Any government rationing of care under universal coverage will provide private insurers the differentiation they needed to exact higher premiums for better care. 3) Working examples used in the current reform debate are found in Switzerland and Germany, not UK and Canada as this metaphor implies.

  • Do you work for Free? Nothing is for Free. We need tort reform. Allow Insurance Companies to offer coverage in All states. Let the free market set the rates. Leave the public Free to buy what they want, IF THEY WANT IT. Less Government is always the better option. Dont force it.

  • Shure, 3 companies don´t make competition. If we only had 6 or 7 everything would be different.

Don´t make a public option just because in the rest of the world public insurances work much better.

  • yes, less government interference for banks too. i mean, it's not like alan greenspan, a conservative capitalist, admitted that he deregulated the banking industry so much because he "thought he could trust them". guess what happened? global economic meltdown. keep trumpeting your mantra and pretty soon we'll be able to only buy from walmart.. but we get to choose WHICH walmart! yay!

  • Greenspan dropped interest rates to 1% after the tech bubble burst. This is not what a conservative does.

Moreover, under Clinton and Bush, the Federal government pushed home ownership onto low-income consumers. Remember Freddie and Fanny?

Extremely low interest rates (giving the illusion of low risk) and government guarantees of high-risk morgages of low-income consumers (also giving the illusion of low risk) is what caused the malinvestment and ultimately the crash..

  • the irony is that private heath care discriminates against people as well. they have to in order to be profitable. the government would simply be no different.

  • The government should not have to run to profitability... that's what separates the two. Private insurance must make profit or else loose investors. Government must break even to maintain a self sufficiency.

  • These LetFreedomRing Guys made in 2008 a presidential campaign for McCain. (Not too successful).

  • Amazing,,, why can't you see,,, the scenario you just gave,, is happening now... Their called insurance company's.........

  • awesome

  • Hmmm, My spider senses tell me there's a straw man nearby.

  • Clever propaganda. Who sponsored this? Who benefits most from the status quo? When you move from one kealth ins. company to another, where did the money you paid into the prior plan go? How do insurance companies maximize profits?: Minimizing expendictures. What value added does a ticket scalper provide? It's just about the same with insurance companies. Cost for workman's comp. would drop, cost of injury settlements would drop. Think.

  • That is demonstrably not true. The NHS in Great Britain costs about 8% of the British GDP, in contrast to about 17% of the US GDP. Outcomes of care are actually worse here (except in cancer treatment) than there. We are #17 - to #37 in WHO rankings of quality of medical care. "Rationing" here is handled by your insurance provider, who cares only about money. Learn to fact check, and to spell, before regurgitating dittoheadspeak.

  • Would you rather have a private corporation whose main goal is to gain profit, or a national organization whose purpose is to keep the U.S. citizens alive support you if you become injured or sick, the choice is really simple to me.

  • France and Canada are warning us not to follow their lead because its an irreversable path. That is why they dont follow us, they cant! Before you speak in ingnorance of other countries you need to get your facts straight. Our system might have faults, but its still the best in the world and they come here and pay cash for treatements rather than die getting "free healthcare" which actually cost them more in taxes than it cost us. Takes months to years to get an mri in Canada.

  • You are so ignorant. France and Canada are warning us not to follow their lead because its an irreversable path. That is why they dont follow us, they cant! Before you speak in ingnorance of other countries you need to get your facts straight. Our system might have faults, but its still the best in the world and they come here and pay cash for treatements rather than die getting "free healthcare" which actually cost them more in taxes than it cost us

  • no they arnt. type in Canadians for Health Reform in America. listen to it. i have friends who are from england and they are 100% healthy. if my friend was to break his leg right now he can go to the hospital, get treated TONIGHT and not pay a damn thing because the NHS is paying for it! and he lives here!

  • The World Health Organization, a non-political entity, looked at cost, wait times, and health care outcomes and and ranked the US system as 37th in the world. Virtually every other advanced nation on earth ranked higher than the US.

I live in Canada, and whey you say that that Canada is warning the US not to follow it's lead I realize that you are just as dishonest as this video.

  • Right. I like your source of information. The World Health Organization is just another eugenic operative of the new world order. Look past loss of sovereignty (states accepting the Federal Government dictates) accept a central government who knows exactly what is best for you. Know the American Medicaid]Medicare history and trends and it will all be spelled out for you for what you can expect.

  • New World Order? Do you realize how long people have been repeating tthat same old tired bullhshit? Do you put more faith in the private health insurance industry? Medicare and the VA systems are far superior to any PHI company. I would normally not want the federal government to interfere with the private sector, but since the PHI industry is murdering people and the states turn a blind eye, I am all for this reform. Best thing since sliced bread!

  • When you add 40 million patients to an already crowded market, how can care possibly go anywhere but down? Is the government going to somehow graduate enough physicians this year to handle this extra load and replace the dr's that quit? Not to mention the abuse that will take place, since fuck its free, will be the new slogan. People will go to the dr if they get a zit on their ass if its free. They'll go to the dr to get out of work, if its free. You think this system wont be taken advantage of?

  • NOTHING IS FREE in this bill! I have read HR 3962. Most can afford ins. now and they will have to buy it. If you are working you will pay a % of your income. 40 million Americans aren't going to show up at the doctors the same day. I think the GP docs problem is not as bad as you think, at least not where I live. As for the mandatory purchase? Greatest part of the bill & what the PHI industry hates. The public option will be the last resort, not the first which will strain the PHI industry..

  • Well at least you know its not free. Why do think the ins co's hate that everyone must now get ins or go to jail? Seems to me they would love this bill. No everyone must play their game. As for PCP shortage, my wifes a pediatrician so I know a little bit about the industry. She will be leaving medicine because she has said she will not practice medicine under a non medical bureaucrat s orders on how to treat a patient they have never even seen. It will be one treatment fits all

  • The insurance companies don't mind insuring everyone, they hate the regulaitons put upon them. How is your wife's experience getting paid by PHI companies? I have been going to my OB/GYN for 30 years, he delivered my children and Grandchildren, and he loves this bill. He is tired of fighting with the PHI companies. He has wanted regs put on them for years. I would rather have gov bureaucrats in between me and my doc, than the PHI bureaucrats. Any day of the week!

  • PHI is a pain in the ass, but Texas Medicaid was worse. Texas Medicaid has this elaborate ever changing claim filing process. Every Friday we get a claims report called an R and S statement. The beginning of this report has banner pages that are basically the changes made for the week for all of medicine and ranged from 10-150 pages of fairly small print. 99% would not pertain to your practice,so every weekend was spent reading reports because that 1% would get all claims denied if ignored

  • And it would be something ridiculous, like all pediatric well visits must now have a modifier of "KL" or they will be denied. They did this because the state was underfunded every year because the number of participants kept growing. If an ins company pulled this they would have been sued, but what are you gonna do sue the state. I can see the same thing happening with Medicare as soon as they start having problems with funding which will be soon.

  • Currently private insurance bureaucrats are getting between docs & patients because insurance companies don't want to pay for proper medical procedures (run for profit). A government option wouldn't be run for profit; NO ONE would get between doctors & patients.

The waiting-line effect is not the case in all countries with government-run healthcare (ie France & Sweden); it IS a problem in Canada because of a separate pharmacy-related program to save money. This is not part of the public option.

  • The public option is added to all the choices already there; it takes away NOTHING. You COULD just "move to another restaurant": a private insurance company. The public option is paid by subscriptions the same way private insurance is but for-profit; prices would be lower & coverage more reliable. Private insurers could compete with it the same way private schools compete with public schools & private radio stations with public ones, etc.

This movie doesn't even use truths to back its claim.

  • What about England?

What are survival rates in the us for patients (the highest btw).

So whats the problem, well we have 20-30 million us citizens w/o insurance about 10 million of them could get it if they wised too (cheer me i just got some privately 1 month ago been 4 years w/o) im 26 and was 22 why do i need it? I didn't and saved a ton.

The government TODAY is the major contributor to what operation are to be given to who via medicare and medicare (yes the government is the major ...

  • ... policy maker and many health profession textbooks will inform you of this).

So when you only have gov. they will be the only policy maker and the price of healthcare will continue to climb. Just as it has after gov. programs have been massively expanded.

  • ANYTHING massively expanded increases cost, but you make some mistakes:

Survival rate for US patients: Because so many people are turned away in the US for pre-existing conditions & can't afford to be patients in the 1st place, you're working with skewed data.

Higher costs: public option is NOT run for profit like private insurance, hence has no need to hike prices & has no need to be bigger than the number of people who CHOOSE to subscribe.

You can still subscribe to private insurance instead.

  • it is easier to tear down a plan put forward, then to put forward a plan. The 'alternative' plan that is presented by the dude in the suit is even more vague than any plan out there. Politics and policy go hand in hand. It is impossible to have one without the other. the public option is NOT a national plan, it is ANOTHER option. This is not a true reality for the US because we are built on choice. The health reform plan proposed by Obama offers choice. The guy in the suit offers nothing.

  • Congratulations!!!

I am Brazilian and I know how deleterious is a Government run Health Care.

The United States is the last country in whole world ind which people have the right to choice.

In Europe, in Canada and in Brazil, people are obligated to pay (as taxes), doesn't matter their opinions.

The United States has THE BEST medical care in whole world. Why you are trying to copy a deficient model?

  • very smart video, show a health care supporter been turn back, bravo! but it is not 100% true, so it is a misleading video, the reform do not take over the whole system, it just add a public option to it. so people that is not happy in one can switch to another. another point not mention is that in the actual system is not only the doctors and patients one on one, you forgetting to mention the insurance companies which have the last word on what the treatment will be.

  • 9/9/09 Health Care Speech

I predicted that there would not be one word mentioned of how illegals are infecting our Health Care.

Boy was I right! He did mention the soaring cost of Health Care but it just slipped his mind how much US citizens empty their pockets everyday just to ensure that our own special illegals are happy with their Health Care and that we keep the emergency rooms busy with illegals at all times.

  • Awesome video, way to break it down for the simple minded people on the left.

  • So two actors not held to telling the truth about healthcare make a video against healthcare. I will go to Italy next week and shoot a video of my medical visits there so you can see there are no people in red suits.

  • Overhauling the nation's health care system is a bad idea... SAY NO!

  • The main theme of this video is rationing, or limiting access to supply.

That is exactly what the insurance companies do every day. Preexisting condition, so sorry. Forgot to check a box on your form, too bad. Can't pay your portion, or exceeded your limits go bankrupt. Don't have insurance? Go die.

If evil has a face, the medical insurance industry is it. They make more money by denying you coverage. The incentive is obvious as are the statistics and results.

    It is time for change.

  • Watch youtube video: The Health Care Bill: What They Don't Want You To Know

  • also its fucked up how politics is playing such a major role in the legislation of the health care reform bill. the bill is long as fuck and the language is so fuckin ambiguous that everyone and their mom can come to the table with "interpretive bullshit." obama fucked up by trying to rush this shit and the media is mind fucking america with its biased reporting. what are the pros and cons of socialized medicine? where is there room for improvement? thats the questions we should be asking...

  • Comment removed

  • the obama administration really need to grow a pair of balls...a public option is barely acceptable as a solution to health care reform. the only way obama will truly revolutionize the health care system is to create a truly socialized health care plan. the reason why we can't get anywhere in america is because capitalism/corporatism is holding us down as a nation. whatever "change" happens now will result in the same exact shit we've had for the last 40+ yrs.

  • Obama has scheduled a major speech on healthcare for Wednesday night. The Republicans will get a chance to respond. I have written a few suggestions on how the Republicans should respond in an Open Letter to My Congressman. My Facebook page is roncram1. Please take a look and support these proposals to your own Republican Congressmen.

  • It's time to take charge of YOUR own future...

    see how, now...

  • This is INSANE! I am a doctor and have worked all over the world, including Canada and the US. Health care EVERYWHERE else in the industrialized world is better than the US.

Why? You spend more money on health care than anyone else in the world, yet your outcomes are worse. Every country in the industrialized world has a public / private mix. People still get to choose and you have more meddling on decisions from HMOs then Canada does from the government. This video is big on FEAR low on FACT!

  • BULL SHIT! First, you can not prove in any way, whatsoever, that you are a doctor, period. Furthermore, I have yet to hear of someone from the US flocking to the UK for care. In fact, I've heard of people being flown HERE from the UK, people driving down from Canada. People in Oregon or Mass crossing state lines for quality, private care. But still, nothing really rings a bell as far as people flooding into other "industrialized" nations for care. You know why? They all SUCK.

  • First of all, there are many, many ways I could prove I am a doctor. However, I don't feel I need to justify myself to some twit on the net.

Secondly, Americans travel outside the US for medical care regularly. You're confusing issues. Why is insuring people who can't afford it so awful? Leave your country, see what other people are doing around the world and come back with some fresh ideas.

Your attitude that we're the best is always from idiots who have never been away.

  • Are you stupid!!! I am not sure you don't even earn a degree.

  • currently we spend 1/6 of the gross national product on health care. Look it up. Also, our outcome is worse compared to other countries. There are horror stories for every single health care system in the entire world including our own. I think you make some valid points!

  • Whoa!

    Oh noes!

The government run health care is really horrible!!

How do Republicans know this? Because they and their families have STATE SUBSIDIZED HEALTH COVERAGE!

Don't let that big guy (who must have barely fit through the door) starve to death, please!

  • This is the most rubbish video I've ever seen.

  • Yeah, the fire department, the police, the National Guard, the roads we drive on, the water we drink that doesn't give us Malaria...that's all "government controlled", too. It's all Socialism.

If you agree with this video, move to Somalia. They have no government services whatsoever. You'll love it.

  • Most of those things are controlled by our state and local governments. In fact 87% of our Fire Departments are run on the basis of volunteerism so they succeed because of everyday Americans and not because of the Federal Government running them.

  • How do you come up with this distinction between state/local government and the federal government? Like the former is just regular Joes like us and the latter is a bunch of a mindless zombies. The people who work for the police department are the same people who work for the VA. They're just your neighbors. It's like when Timothy McVeigh blew up the Federal Building. He was trying to kill "them", but instead he killed a bunch of children.

  • There is a large distinction between the state/local governments and the Federal government. One is size. Where a community has to provide services for a few hundred thousand people (that being the largest city) the Federal Government has to provide service for 304 million +. Another is proximity to the actual issues effecting communities. If there were no distinction we would only need one or the other.

  • Understood. But what I'm talking about is that, at the end of the day, it's your friends and neighbors who work for the federal government and its your friends and neighbors who work for the state and local services. There's no special pool of federal government agents who "do the governments bidding". My mother works for the VA and is an amazing nurse. It's not some "them" who is going to be providing healthcare. It's my mom. It's your cousin. It's your next-door neighbor.

  • I am interested in how you managed to go to Zombies and McVeigh. The services you have listed have not been proven to be delivered by the Federal Government. That makes it a bad example as to why the Federal Government should deliver Health care Services. Is Health care going to be accessible to most Americans because 87% of the services will be run by unpaid volunteers? If so, then okay good point. If not, they're completely different things.

  • The federal government funds the National Park service. It provides funds to maintain highways. It provides educational funds. It funds the military, the federal prison system, public service announcements, even culture and the arts. Why is health care so exceptionally exempt from this? We're talking about giving all Americans basic health care, not buying them Ferraris.

  • I have an idea about the "why". That's a way to keep the population on the leash. Let the corporations poison the people with nicotine and drugs, then let them leach the last pennies out of them, so that the only thing they live and strive for is an overpriced healthcare and some shitty "American dream" house, getting which put them into the life-long debt hole. The more debt they have, the harder they work. The more fear of losing their health care they have, the harder they work.

  • For the record, I am well aware that everyday Americans fill all the jobs that get things done around our country. My point was that people in their communities fill a need, instead of waiting around for the Federal Government (and even the state and local governments) to pay them or somebody else to do it. I don't think the Federal Government should get credit for that. I'm just saying. There are plenty of Federal Agencies that you could use for examples instead of local ones.

  • Holy crap, you're responding so fast...I can't even keep up.

  • All of those were one reply, I just couldn't make it in one because of the character limit. :) You've done a great job.

  • Also - WHO are these actors appearing in these videos? They should be ashamed of themselves for propagating this nonsense...they, of all people!

  • The Government already imposes rules and regulations on restaurants.

These are the same arguments hurled at Medicare -- how many of you people want to take that program away?

  • When you care about your fellow man you are neither Republican nor Democrat, you are a human being. Officials on the right seem to have forgotten that they are there to represent people, not corporations. Our elected representatives have the best health care that tax-payers money can buy. Let's have a little more truth and a whole bunch of caring for our fellow citizens. Put your self serving egos on hold and think of others for once!

We know you are corporate shills so give it up!

  • I't amazing how the the people from the industry comment on the horror stories that we read and see every day on US health care. They dismiss them. There is a lobby of very rich people who make millions, depriving innocent people, and part of the money used to produce this video. They jusst wand to fool you, we must get rid of insurance companies, and provide free cover for everyone, as it is in the rest of the civilized world.

  • Econ 101:

Health care has no substitute, therefore by definition, it suffers from monopoly pricing pressure. While I agree there needs to be reform, having government actually run health care would be a major mistake. Govt needs to regulate ala the utilities. Read this letter to Senator Kohl:

    kirkspano . com/content/category/1/1/46/

Consider W/O some profit motive, i.e. for biotech, medical equipment and pharma, we will not be able to increase medical effectiveness.

  • How is the most wasteful organization on the planet, the American Federal Government going to make anything efficient. Remember those $500 hammers and toilet seats purchased by the Pentagon The organization that Rumsfeld announced on Sept. 10,2001 lost $2.3 trillion in? transactions.

Why is it every bill out of Washington is a unconstitutional power grab of Americans freedoms. Health care reform yes, but not controlled by Washington, big mistake.

  • You people are clueless. Private health insurance companies decide NOW what doctors we can use, what treatments are allowed, where we can get treatment. Our infant mortality rate is about equal to Latvia. Health insurance companies, making record profits, dump you once you are too sick to work and cannot pay their ridiculous premiums. If you company lets you go, you have to go on COBRA and pay about $1,700 a month for family coverage from unemployment that doesn't equal that. That's me now.

  • You want the military to protect you from terrorists.

You want the police to protect you from burglars.

You want the fire department to protect you from fire.

You want the FDA to protect you from being injured or poisoned from stuff...? Wait, do you? Some of you don't I guess.

But you don't want a government health insurance plan to protect anyone who so elects to use it to protect that person from CANCER? Are you out of your fucking minds?

  • This is so pathetic. Do they want to do away with health inspectors in restaurants?

Do they think private insurance companies don't ration health care to an egregious degree? Even if the gubmint WERE to go all dictatorial and make unfair decisions on who gets what type and how much care, isn't it easier 2 vote public officials out of office than to get the CEO of your insurance company fired? Try 2 teabag their board meetings and see.

Stupid, greedy conservatives, feudal society advocates.

  • Boy this youtube video looks really well done and expensive.

But I'm sure it came from some poor "grass-roots" organization and not from the lobbying arm of the one of the industrious making billions screwing Americans out of healthcare.

  • @Rainy: Amen!!!!! You broke it all the way down!!! I love you and if I knew you a little better I would ask you to marry me!

  • So let me get this strait RainyDay...The fat idiot people don't have a right to change their minds in light of the fact the state run media has been in the bag for Obama since the beginning..& are just now waking up to the fact that Obama is a Radical Socialist.

Get real man...stop listening to Bill Mahr for your daily news. Also I do believe you are the idiot that needs to open a HISTORY BOOK if you believe our three powers of government can't change this country into a "Communist one".

  • Wow, what a mischaracterization! Characterizing another option as fewer options?! If the shirts had "big health insurance" on them, and showed them destroying the restaurant that is being built next door with better prices. Then it might work. Otherwise, lame.

  • Health insurance is like car insurance in one respect. If everyone who wanted car insurance was given a low premium amount no matter how young they were or how bad they drove

it would cost more for everyone in the long run. I agree some medical prices are to high its true.

Yes, you should have the right to get health insurance, but you should be willing to pay more if you have a pre-existing medical condition.

  • Health insurance is like all insurance, not just car insurance.

You can't be a successful insurance company if you insure the inevitable. Even life insurance companies don't know when your going to die.

Insurance is a bet against the unknown, but we all KNOW we will need healthcare.

This is one major reason why For-profit-health insurance can not/is currently not/will never work.

Its also ANTI-Free-Market (thats the other reason)

  • Most insurance companies do give you insurance for the inevitable to a point. They may have sustain restrictions. If they knew for example you would at one time in your life say have a car wreck your premiums would be more. Most insurance is catastrophic, so the company is basically making a bet that you won't have an accident if you may.

Agree health insurance does have its own problems since you mostly will pay for people who will constantly go to the doctors. I agree with you a little.

  • This video is stupid. Those weren't government workers that's how the health insurance industry works now. They decide what tests and procedure we can have. They deny coverage

  • deviant24x let's break down the HR 3200 bill and see what were working with.

The below listed link will take you to a video that has info on Gov having direct access to your bank account.

Also in the notes of the video & on my page I have 2 links of websites that breakdown the HR 3200 bill plus answer any questions you might have.

    Hope this helps,

    Video link below

    watch?v=v4NN-kHO2Nk

Or the video is on my page

with some of the break down of

    HR 3200 aka (Public Option)

  • 1. Under the new health care plan you can keep your insurance, doctor, etc. It's called a public OPTION for a reason.

    2. You will not be turned away for "preconditions" like under the current health care system.

    3. You're as likely to be dropped by your private insurance company when you need life-saving care as your are to be treated.

    4. 18,000 Americans DIE each year due to lack of health care= avg 50 a day

    5. 1/6 of all our government spending is on health care 2x as much as anyone else

  • It's not an option if every business has to pay out the ass in penalties if they opt out of it. It will force every insurance company out of the market except the one that the government picks to outsource the program through essentially federalizing them. Then once there is a monopoly, you will get low grade care from nonmed buearocrats that don't care about you. Only about 15% of Americans need a public option. So why must everyone take it? Start up a program just for them then. I dont want it

  • Nothing in any bill has businesses paying penalites if they decide not to use the public option.

    That is not true.

I don't agree only 15% need a public option, insurance premiums have risen at a much faster rate than the median income due to higher administrative costs.

Do you really believe INSURANCE companies CARE about you? That take is a bit naive. U.S. pays more than any other country for health care to be 24th in life expectancy and has 2/3 personal bankruptcies due to hc costs.

  • There is a penalty if an employer opts out. No I don't think insurance companies care about me. But it is still the private sector and should remain so. I'm sure they care more about the business and economy succeeding than the handlers of the FED which owns our government. Considering the government handbook called "Ecoscience" written by Holdren which states that the world's populous needs to be reduced down to less than 1 billion people and 1 goal for acheiving this is controlling healthcare!

  • So now your promoting conspiracies as well as not telling the truth. Again, nothing in the bill saying there is a penalty if the employer opts to use their own private insurance. Medicare has been a pretty successful program that most people would choose to join early if they had the chance. That is the idea behind a public option. You haven't addressed how exactly why private insurance should stay that way...

What exactly does a health insurance company do for anyone besides prevent care?

  • Coming up this week, August 28th on PBS, Money Driven Medicine ...watch it!

  • Hi Everybody! This is your future Queen!

I love what Sen. Coburn, Republican of Oklahoma, told one of his town hall attendees on Aug 24! Her husband had been thrown out of his nursing home because he could no longer be fed and she couldn't afford help because they were retirees! The compassionate Senator told her that still wouldn't justify a gov't health plan!

He said: "have the neighbors take care of him"!

What a great idea! The Republican plan: A Nation Of Beggars!

  • But consider this - why should MY TAX DOLLARS pay for firemen to come to your aid if your house goes on fire, or for police to attend to you if you are a victim of a crime? Perhaps we should all purchase crime insurance and fire insurance for all the socialized services I currently pay for you. Because I have enough of my own shit as well!

  • gretchen, i understand your point. but, i'm sure you realize that schools, fire depts, poice, roads.... are necessary in any civilized society. i exercise, i don't eat fast food (ever), i don't drink sodas, i don't smoke, i don't do any type of drug (including antibiotics and tylenol), my health care needs are FAR LESS than most, but my taxes will go to pay for the care of those that don't take care of themselves. tell me how this is fair. i know, life isn't fair.

  • @vcoverson: r u serious?u think becuz u have a so called healthy way of living that u r exempt from serious illness?there r people like you that do it right all the time and still end up getting ill. How naïve of u. guess what if ur private wants 2 drop u for any reason at all they can do it. And that is not far to u. the gov plan will give an option. Right now ur options r hope private plan wont drop you or go into debt.

  • bashe, of course i'm not exempt from serious illness, but i'm reducing the chances CONSIDERABLY. obviously, there's no way to totally insulate yourself from getting sick. that being said, there's got to be something done that rewards those who improve their chances of good health and punishes those who knowingly engage in activities detrimental to their health (like smoking, eating fast food, soft drinks, drugs, drinking.....).

  • @vcov: oh I get it there's something wrong with you. there has to be. your reward for having good health is GOOD HEALTH you idiot. but i am not going to argue with you becuz gretchen broke ur argument down 2 days ago and u gave her the thumbs down. good luck with keeping that health up and keeping that private insurance if you happen to get sick.oh and just a little tip please dont let them know abt any illness that u or ur family has ever had in the past. It could reduce ur chance 4 treatment.

  • bashe, your argument is lame on so many levels (except the point you made about good health being its own reward). idiot is a weak rebuttal to someone you merely disagree with. gretchen offered a dissenting opinion, she didn't 'break my argument down'. i never gave her the 'thumbs down either, that was our assumption and you were wrong. why would i give her love (by teliing her she made good points) and then give her the 'thumbs down'? by the way, nice job NOT arguing with me.

  • @vcoverson: thanks I know I did a nice job not arguing with you. who cares about the thumbs down. if you didnt do it you wouldnt be so worried about explaining that you didnt do it. ur pathetic because of your thoughts on this issue and ur trying to position yourself as someone with a legitimate argument and you cant. get over yourself. set back relax and watch the bill get passed. and yes gretchen broke you all the way down. sorry.

  • @vcoverson: one more thing you say that my argument is lame on so many levels but you dont even have what it takes to support your statement. dude go protest with the other idiots that think that shouting and referencing the Nazi's will stop reform. don't be afraid of change. its gonna happen whether you like it or not.

  • bashe, you're fucking retard!!! my mistake was referring to what you wrote as an 'argument'. it was merely a bunch of disjointed whiny statements. my stating i didn't give a thumb's down does not constitute my being worried about it. the bill may pass, but you idiots voted obama in office with his history of accomlishing absolutely nothing of substance. so at this point, i wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens in our new socialistic society. the nazi thing is an analogy you tard.

  • @vcov: well aren't we testy! lol once again u fail @ having something of substance 2 actually state. yeah got the childish analogy 2 the nazis thats why i said u idiots r making REFERENCES 2 them. pick up a dictionary every once in a while.getting angry abt this will only give you high blood pressure and that would break your record as the healthiest guy in the world and you know what that would mean.bye bye private insurance becuz they would drop u like a hot tator.really dude you are pathetic.

  • bashe, obviously we will never see eye to eye on anything politically nor philosophically. good luck in life. i will be wasting no more energy on you. peace.

  • @vcoverson: thanks for the pathetic back down without any real facts to support your spew of nonsense. keep your luck. you will need it if you continue to count on private insurers.
