It's understandable that some people see this just as a carnage, but in many places of the world rabbits are a real problem, not only to crops but to other species as well, both animal and vegetal. Rabbit population can grow to such an extent that they virtually end up eating everything, even the roots of plants and trees. In Australia rabbits have contributed to the desertification of vast areas to the point that the Australian Govt. had to step in and pay bounty for each dead rabbit.

That's a lot of rabbit meat! They can be damaging to agriculture when they're over populated in areas like that. Do you harvest the meat or pelts or are they mostly discarded?
