  • so i have an sr5 hatch, ive got a gts rear end and full coilovers i can put on it and i know a place that sells 1uzfe's for 700 bucks, and i got to thinking... put one in the corolla???? but i need custom mounting brakets and trans crossmembers, you guys wouldent happen to make them would you?

  • @xXPanfy004013Xx Don't use GTS rear end, it won't hold up, use ford rear end. 9" is best, but you can use 7.5 and 8.8" too. They're all cheap but you could take 2 ford explorer rear ends, since their differential is offset to the passenger side, use the short passenger side axle from each and make a centered, shorter version of the two, suitable length for ae86, then you saved $150 for shortening each axle, which could be used to make it 4 nuts, and caliper mounting brackets :)

  • sounds like p00p. revs kinda slow too.

  • I'm curious...corner weight ?

  • Man that car still sounds like heaven.

  • Dam that box is tighter then a virgin o.O

  • Do you still an AC with that setup?

  • @aShoe0o

No sir, currently has no AC. It could be retained with a little work though.

  • it fits fine? no need to cut the firewall?

  • @mattforce400 Yup, fits just fine with no cutting. Just needed to lower the subframe a little bit.

  • wtf is that nasty ticking?

  • @terribleoneprimopro Don't know what you are talking about, unless it is just the lack of exhaust. The engine sounds great if you watch the videos of this car with exhaust.

  • So sick!! I picked up a smashed 93 sc400 and gunna do the same to my coupe cause the good ol 4ag aint cuttin it anymore.

  • @corollafrenzy you know whats a great replacement for the 4AG....2RZFE out of the tacoma its finally coming into its own and paradise racing has started a movement for it...its capable of putting down more hp then the 2JZ

  • excellent! i'm about to do the same swap and could use all the help you could give. right now wondering about unecessary wiring on the engine harness but also the basic install in the small engine bay!

  • sweet as bro

  • OK, Tnx, have you got any info on what wires need to be connected as I have just put the same engine in a Toyota Hilux, so no doubt will have the same 'challenges' that you had!

    Cheers

  • Hi, great sound. What ECU did you use?

  • Stock LS400

  • WHAT MOTOR IS THAT FROM????\

  • 1uz-fe from a 91 Lexus LS400

  • was the swap hard to do? could you email me a list of what had to be done to do this? thanks. nice car btw.

  • That's a cool swap! I have a w58 in my MKIII supra that I won't be using cos I'm swapping a 2jz into it. How did you get the W58 to mate up to the 1UZ-FE? I heard they only had an auto tranny. did it only involve getting a different bellousing or something? Thanks!

  • That is true about only coming with automatics. I used a bellhousing made by A1turbos in New Zealand.

  • solid motor mounts?

  • Yes.
