Not a massive fan of his music. But saw Rollins at reading and I have to say he was a very captivating speaker. And I agree with the below comments that NME is absolute shite! Theres nothing that makes my blood boil more than seeing the trendy kids who read it religiously and only listen to shit pop "indie" music it endorses!

I haven't read the NME since Steve Sutherland quit the editorship eight years ago. I bought it recently specifically because because of the interview with Rollins. Clearly amongst the teenage scribblers there is an old guard (possibly kept in a cupboard) who is wheeled out to deal with adult stuff.

I would have liked to have seen his set. His spoken word shows are really good. First he was a punk rocker and then he started doing was is essentially stand-up. Great! Unlike the fucking NME - a bible for air-headed Hoxtonites.

Well yeah, I was too. It's all 'Trendy' Indie bands with these guys. Note to NME: there are some fantastic bands out there that AREN'T fashionable and that don't all look the same. reclaim your legacy and write about music instead of fashion.

I'm sure I'll be flamed by legions of trendys for posting this but it had to be said IMHO.
