MacDaniels & Bleakley use to perform this tune at least 10 ten times a night at Stevens Hot Groceries in Gulfport, Mississippi back in the day. Those two dudes had a knack for finding songs like this that never really hit the air waves and turn us on to some of the best music you never heard.
Know what the problem with modern rock music is? It's all the same boring ass themes. No one has any damn imagination anymore. Look at this song, it's badass as hell, and it's about vengeance from beyond the grave. You see Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga writing about vengeance from beyond the grave? The world lost it's vision and imagination.
Ok, how many of us who grew up in the 60's or 70's had long hair, wore jeans, jeans jacket &/or vest everyday, and a cowboy hat at parties? I had a vest with a C.Daniels patch, & a Stetson that was heavily worn from parties & rowdyness. It had a feathered headband w/ side feathers dangling off held by a leather rope, w/ a roachclip that hooked it on the hat. No more drugs here but I loved that hat!
Yes, The Outlaws are everything we all say they are...GREAT. But NEVER forget they are within the family of GREAT Southern Rock Bands of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, and many more that made my life going through the late 60's and throught the 70's more pleasant.
I've always loved The Outlaws! Love the double album from 1978 "Bringin It Back Alive." Last week I uploaded Harvey Dalton Arnold playing bass and singing with The Polar Bear Blues Band at Kefi in Wrightsville Beach, NC on 10/02/10. He sang "Cold and Lonesome" , the song he wrote and the Outlaws recorded. He was in a band here called Heather and they played it too in the late 60's and early 70's.
@Rickat1964 Sort of- but the Outlaws are on another level- far superior musically and socially (although their social superiority is cloaked by popular noobs pretending to be better)
The first time I saw the Outlaws play was in 1978 at the Largo Theatre in Baltimore MD. The last time I saw the Outlaws was in a bar outside Dover DE 15 years ago. When they played this song, I thought I was back at the Largo. I love this song, a tale of love and vengeance. Amazingly talented band. They used to call them "The Florida Guitar Army", and no Earl, they didn't get NEAR enough credit.
@EARLJAM123 thats because of the brainwashed generation of conservative parents that are too paranoid to let their children experience something amazing.

@onett128 it's fantastic for a young guy like me to have some music align with my soul that has yet to be found in the timeframe of my existence. LOVE IT!!!!!! smoke dank!!!
