  • Wonderful song/album.

  • Hands down best church cd. They were peaking at this time in 1988.

  • I love the lyrics, they say things I feel.

  • I love this song. I got the album when it first came out when I was 13.

  • everything you say...you'll need that breath one day

  • fuckin epic

  • More than Under The Milky Way, Antenna is my favourite one on Starfish (1988)!

Australian rock gave great "hidden away" bands like The Church, The Go-Betweens and Died Pretty!

  • @lyonslaforet Yeah, mine too - amazing song and lyrics and the mandolin is gorgeous.

  • what are the chords for this?

  • @nahuel89p i want to know too. it starts on d minor i think...

  • @mahlstadt they have weird chords on this song but if you look up "cherry lane starfish tab" on google you can find a complete printout of the tabs for each song on this album

  • @strungout92 cheers strungout92, you are a samaritan

  • @strungout92 maaate..waited with baited breath till i had it in front of me.then i opened it up an..pristine..an NOW i can breath lol..

  • I still love you Nicki.

  • I've liked the Church since i heard "under the milky way' in 1989. i branched off from there..bought Starfish and Priest =AUra..

Not a bad song on either of them..Their other albums aren't too shabby either..

  • "One of the top 15 albums ever written is 'Starfish' by The Church."

    - Veronica Grey

  • The Church oh what a band i could listen to that tune one million times and bever get tired of it!

  • @silencitv yes =D

  • @silencitv Me too.

  • Still my favourite Church song and maybe my fav of all time.

  • This song is a good example of why I never had a career as a record exec...I guess. I hear this song and think it was one of THE best songs of an entire decade. Right up there with the likes of The Whole of the Moon, The Unforgettable Fire, and How Soon Is Now? Great tune from a great band.

  • always loved the lyrics bit windswept and flowery at times but still made sense

  • I love this song and album!!!! The Church kicks ass. I'm probably the only person in the U.S. that knows the church.

  • your not alone i love the church im from liverpool uk music is universal my mate

  • I agree with you! I love music too, especially great bands like The Church.

  • i have a copy of blurred crusade on vynil i will try to upload it for you if you want

  • yes, that would be sweet, thanks!

  • not true, lol -- i'm from the US, too. i'm just getting into them, though. shame i've never heard them before.

it's true, it's ridiculous how much the US is caught up in celebrities and pop culture. it's irritating as hell.

  • Hey that's awesome your getting into the Church, how did you hear of them? I know it sucks that a lot of people are missing out on great music like this. If you like them you should check out some channels call nzoz, they have a lot of great bands that a lot of americans never heard of.

  • i have a deep affection for 80s music; i grew up listening to u2, the cure, r.e.m., etc. i had heard under the milky way a million times before, but never really knew who it was, so i looked it up and just branched off from there.

  • Great! I'm glad you like the Church. I love listening to 80's music too, especially alternative bands like the cure, the the, the church, rem, oingo biongo etc. If you like the church you should check out Echo and the bunnymen and Split Enz.

  • i couldn't agree with you more pop is so annoying. I got into the church because of skateboarding, they use the church sometimes in videos that pros skate too. skateboarding introduced me into older kinds of music like this, im so thankfull for that

  • My favourite Church song , too.

I was very disappointed when I saw them in concert in Milan (Italy) years ago, and they did't play neither this one nor Spark.....

  • great band great song what more can i ask for

  • What a shame US radio DJs only played "Milky Way" (albeit that is one AWESOME song); this band has SO many GREAT songs and they are so underated!!

  • I agree with you. This whole album was so great, all the songs were good. The trend in the U.S. is only to play whats popular, its a shame.

  • My favourite Church song. No live version :(

  • The Church, the face of the surf.

  • the church is badass

  • Wow,

didnt realise this was off Starfish. One of my faves on their best off, but being at the end of the disc- it just had to be the song that blatently refused to play. Cheers Georgie

  • Thanks for posting. I think this is the most underrated Church song. It's my favorite too.

  • Thanks for posting, my favourite church song. Shame i can't find any live versions.
