  • damn i love jan johanson

  • Very few musicians can touch me like Jan Johansson.

  • magnifique!!!

  • The talent of Jan was indescribable... sublime... He would be proud of his sons carrying on his flame...

  • Sången är ursprungligen från Åland, that is it is an swedish song from Finland. Very beutifully played by Jan johansson

  • I learned it like this: who can sail when the winds won't blow? Parts are needed for rowing. Who can part when ones hearts aglow. Part when your tears are flowing. I can sail when the winds won't blow. I am needed for rowing I can't part when my hearts aglow. Part when my tears are flowing.

  • This is called Scandinavian folklore, but when we sang this in school in Norway we sang it in Swedish hehe

  • And I think the song is originally Finnish.

  • @AtrumMixer nope, sweden.

    utan at fella tåror?

    Jag kan segla foruten vind.

    Jag kan ro utan åror.

Men ei skilles från vennen min,

    utan att fella tåror.

    Thats it ^^

  • @Larosa97 These are the correct lyrics:

    Vem kan segla förutan vind

    Vem kan ro utan åror

Vem kan skiljas från vännen sin

    Utan att fälla tårar

    Jag kan segla förutan vind

    Jag kan ro utan åror

Men ej skiljas från vännen sin

    Utan att fälla tårar

In its original swedish. Pretty close though =)

  • the chours is this: hvem kan segla for utan vind? hvem kan ro utan årar?

  • Sang this last night with my high school for our fall concert, definitely one of my favorite songs of the night.

  • maybe many of of you think is nice played.. but he does many fouls!!

  • Great harmonization!

  • So nice !

  • this is absolutly my favourite music...

    Gerth Molander, Stockholm Sweden

  • 1:42 ... cant help loving his playing !!

  • Thank you !!!!

  • Beautiful... Remember me Rosemary Lullaby (Komeda).

  • i learned it in my chior

  • are the lyrics, who can sail away with no wind who can row without oars an who can seperate from a friend without a tear in my eye who can fly to the top of the hill who can reach the sky but and who can seperate from a friend without a tear in his eye i can sail away with no wind i can row without oars but i cant separate from a friend without a tear in my eye i can fly to the top of the hill i can reach the sky but i cant separate from a friend without a tear in my eye!

  • yes, i never heard that second verse but i guess there are many versions..

  • @xAmandine I know that your comment was posted a year ago, but as far as I know there is 4 verses of this song (in Swedish).

    1st: "Vem kan segla...."

    2nd: "Jag kan segla..."

    3rd: "Du kan segla..."

    4th: "Vi kan segla..."

  • @xAmandine It's a third about a swan.

The swan can sail without the wind, it can row without oars... ;)

  • @jks11223 No, it's just the two.

  • @jks11223 at my school we are doing.. "WHo can sail when the winds wont blow oars are needed for rowing who can part with ones heart aglow part when your tears are flowing. I can sail when the winds wont blow need no oars for my rowing i cant part with my heart aglow part when my tears are flowing." my chorus LOVES this song haha

  • I love this. Johansson was great

  • Tres Tres Bien!!!

  • Scandinavian jazz is very much based on melody. Jan Johansson's songs are based on traditional swedish folk songs am I right? I just love it :D
