Oh wow, Budokai wins hands down in this catagory, even if BT's animations look crisper for the techniques, the lack of immersion due to the free to roam does hurt bad in comparison. I like how the ultimates work in budokai. I mean it gives you the chance to counter or even prevent the ultimate from working. where as in tenkaichi at some points you have no chance.

Budokai always had a better kick with the finishers... it's because of the epic visuals of each of them why I still play it, and refuse to play tenkaichi... if tenkaichi was more filled with epic visuals. It might catch my attention more.
its true the explosions on budokai 3 are better but they are so time consuming as opposed to when hit with a special attack on bt3 you might loose sight of your opponent untill you find them again making it much more interesting. I also love how you can move freely on a map on bt3 as opposed to 20 steps here and there on budokai 3.
Explosions in budokai were awesome. I still think that when goku goes ssj1 in budokai tenkaichi while doing super spirit bomb is better than budokai. Broly was mainly just doing the omega blaster, which I say is as good as the budokai as well.
budokai finishers are awesome, but the character quality in budokai tenkaichi is better.
There both great games but fighting wise, it obviosly goes to Budokai series, Tenkaichi is just better known for its characters and the freedom to fly anywhere u want. the fightings good but wayy to easy...Thats why budokai will always be the better game, and all the characters in BT are all clones of each other.
Tenkaichi's story mode is bad to me because they just stand there and talk with no expressions on their faces.Dont get me wrong I still like the game It's just that Budokai offers better looking ultimates and expressions. Tenkaichi has good gameplay of course.
Budokai has the explosion animation for the Ultimate Attacks down but as far as gameplay.....nah. I'm a DBZ fan and played all the games but I'm digging DBZT3.
I have to disagree.A lot of people say that,but it's usaully because most people just can't use the defensive abilities in the game very well.For example,people say it's to hard to teleport.That's because B3 made it way to easy to do and you don't have to be all that accurate with the timing to pull it off,however,BT3 requires much more percise timing and there's more than one way to teleport.I wish I could just show you because seeing is believing.But both games are good.
*I don't know,I think it's pretty easy to turn around fast enough to retaliate,you just have to be quik.If you can't,just teleport or tap L1 twice.If they try to grab just turn around and hit circle,then attack.
*I do agree that you should be able to dodge like you could in B3,but I don't think it's that big of a deal,because sonic sway is really easy to do and you can teleport the attack if it if you're on the recieving end.
*The parry is a bit much,but it's easy to counter back.
Yeah I know they're more eye catching,but like I said T3 is more true to actaully being in a Dragonball z fight.L1 does take health,but when you consider how much health you would lose by keeping your back to your opponent,it's worth it,and if you don't want to do that just turn around,teleport,or simply fly away.Like I said before I agree B3 is a better "fighting"game,but T3 is by far the better "Dragonballz "game.

That is true but the explosions in BT3 are really awsome if you manage to get them.
also what exactly does LSSJ Broly say when he does his ultimate blast in BT3, I have it and all I can make out is: "Struggle all you want, in the end you'll still ???! I can't tell what he says just before he launches the first blast and as he launches the first blast although the word he says right when he launches the first blast sounds like: "Kill" or "Killed"
dont get me wrong the super attacks in dbz b3 are way more epic looking, but in dbz bt3 u can battle super,like if u do broli super, i do adult gohan bro kamehameha like in the end of the second broli movie it will battle each other by rotating the joy stick who ever wins their super goes through and u see their super , so if gohan wins goten comes out and they do a kamehameha together like in the movie
but either way i think bt3 is better cause the blasts give you a chance to clash and have more fun. Plus there are tons more combos and stuff to make it more enjoyable
So in other words, Budokai has a brilliant fighting systm with well chorigraphied cutscenes, powerful looking attacks, and brilliant use of sound effects while Tenkaichi uses very rushed boring specials.
Tenkaichi series is way better than Budokai series because there is more free gameplay and there is just most stuff that you can do in a battle and story mode wise, Budokai Tenkaichi 2 takes the cake.

Budokai always had a better kick with the finishers... it's because of the epic visuals of each of them why I still play it, and refuse to play tenkaichi... if tenkaichi was more filled with epic visuals. It might catch my attention more.

its true the explosions on budokai 3 are better but they are so time consuming as opposed to when hit with a special attack on bt3 you might loose sight of your opponent untill you find them again making it much more interesting. I also love how you can move freely on a map on bt3 as opposed to 20 steps here and there on budokai 3.

Explosions in budokai were awesome. I still think that when goku goes ssj1 in budokai tenkaichi while doing super spirit bomb is better than budokai. Broly was mainly just doing the omega blaster, which I say is as good as the budokai as well.
budokai finishers are awesome, but the character quality in budokai tenkaichi is better.

There both great games but fighting wise, it obviosly goes to Budokai series, Tenkaichi is just better known for its characters and the freedom to fly anywhere u want. the fightings good but wayy to easy...Thats why budokai will always be the better game, and all the characters in BT are all clones of each other.

You can destroy the planet in BT3 under certain conditions. But still B3's planet destruction effects beats Bt3's hands down.
There's a lot more variety too.

Tenkaichi's story mode is bad to me because they just stand there and talk with no expressions on their faces.Dont get me wrong I still like the game It's just that Budokai offers better looking ultimates and expressions. Tenkaichi has good gameplay of course.

I have to disagree.A lot of people say that,but it's usaully because most people just can't use the defensive abilities in the game very well.For example,people say it's to hard to teleport.That's because B3 made it way to easy to do and you don't have to be all that accurate with the timing to pull it off,however,BT3 requires much more percise timing and there's more than one way to teleport.I wish I could just show you because seeing is believing.But both games are good.

*I don't know,I think it's pretty easy to turn around fast enough to retaliate,you just have to be quik.If you can't,just teleport or tap L1 twice.If they try to grab just turn around and hit circle,then attack.
*I do agree that you should be able to dodge like you could in B3,but I don't think it's that big of a deal,because sonic sway is really easy to do and you can teleport the attack if it if you're on the recieving end.
*The parry is a bit much,but it's easy to counter back.

* they took out the blocking from Left to right

*It does suck getting hit from behind,but it's easy to get out of it.(teleport or tap L1 2x)
*Circle does respond well,you just have to use it properly
*Anything you would need to block L to R you can teleport.
*Moves do look better in B3,but T3 is more true to simulating the actual cartoon.

Yeah I know they're more eye catching,but like I said T3 is more true to actaully being in a Dragonball z fight.L1 does take health,but when you consider how much health you would lose by keeping your back to your opponent,it's worth it,and if you don't want to do that just turn around,teleport,or simply fly away.Like I said before I agree B3 is a better "fighting"game,but T3 is by far the better "Dragonballz "game.

That is true but the explosions in BT3 are really awsome if you manage to get them.
also what exactly does LSSJ Broly say when he does his ultimate blast in BT3, I have it and all I can make out is: "Struggle all you want, in the end you'll still ???! I can't tell what he says just before he launches the first blast and as he launches the first blast although the word he says right when he launches the first blast sounds like: "Kill" or "Killed"

So in other words, Budokai has a brilliant fighting systm with well chorigraphied cutscenes, powerful looking attacks, and brilliant use of sound effects while Tenkaichi uses very rushed boring specials.

B3s finishers are long and cumbersome- but also awesome. BT3's are slightly less cool- but better designed for actual use.
The BT3 B2s, however- totally blow Budokai's 'B2' moves out of the water.

Tenkaichi series is way better than Budokai series because there is more free gameplay and there is just most stuff that you can do in a battle and story mode wise, Budokai Tenkaichi 2 takes the cake.
