PS2 Underrated Gem: The Mark of Kri

Ugh, even when I first played this game I felt that it needed a lot of work. I discovered some serious clipping issues when the game was played on the highest difficulty that other PS2 games of that time did not exhibit. When I first played the game I was disappointed in the graphics but looking back on it now I appreciate them as more of an art style (as in my younger days I thought graphics were all about looking real). Still, Kri was a lot of fun and the AI was actually rather impressive.

This among a few others proved u don't need high poly count to make a good game. If you actually put the same 3d models on a next gen, you can do so much more with ultra performance. Let's say an open-world Mark of Kri. 'Twould be epic.

i tried getting this at a local gamestop a couple months ago. after going through the huge bin of old ps2 games, i finally found one copy of mark of kri for sale. i was very happy :] i waited like 15 minutes in line, only for the guy at the counter to look through the drawers of games behind the desk and discover that they in fact did not have a copy of the game to sell me. i was very sad :(

for the ps2? Heres a list of good games that are rated T and below, you probaly wont like all of these but there is still enough good games to last ya till your 16. @skyrock100  It's very much like DMC. And Tomonobu Itagaki has a habit of taking ideas. Look at Dead or Alive. Look at Ninja Gaiden. And he's coming out with a new game that's a rip off of Gears of War.

@gyromancy2 Having similarities with a game is very different from blatantly ripping off one. DMC combat system is more about styles and achieving high combos. NG focuses on blocking, dodging, timing your attacks, it has a VERY different combat system. Also the A.I. in DMC is complete garbage, apart from DMC 3 on DMD difficulty, enemies pose ZERO challenge.

God of War 3 has similarities with DMC combat system, but that does not make it bad or rip-off.

Why you dont stealth ? Its reduces you to get spotted with other enemies. Horn Blower will not active if the enemies didnt spotted you.

Not really Tenchu of any number is all about stealth save for boss battles; which aren't that exciting because there is no fluid fighting like in Kri. It is true Stealth/Action you can use either to get thru the level; you can choose the hack it out or sneak and slay.

if your not a gamer... this is one of the few games that you shouldn't play coz definitely you'd be damn if you don't finish this game... everything about this game is great (ofcourse the graphics may be a little mess up)... but that's just a minor setback, its really annoying that the developers are taking this game forgranted.. i think this game is a 9.5/10. they made a sequel/prequel though but i think this there should be more adventures for rau. ..... I really enjoyed them both. I'd say they're two of my favorite games of this type on the PS2.

I like the more straightforward adventure gameplay as opposed to the heavily scripted style of game like GoW.
