@dustylefou Johnnie Walker puts out Ada that glorify it's despicable product which I'm sure every day plays a part in the beating of a child, the rape of women, and other terrible random acts of murder and violence that wouldn't have happened if the stuff wasn't pushed on consumers.
It's not "pretentious crap". Harvey had a serious problem with stage fright... which he had to overcome to get his career off the ground in the 60s. And he didn't get a major film role till he was 32. Then 3 years later Coppola fires him from Apocalypse and he's banished from Hollywood for 15 years. Harvey knows a thing or 2 about life... all uphill.
its just a commercial this "commercial just explained the life of an actor/actress its brilliant look closer if you have eyes and ears and life you will see
I totally agree with what you say xvgi, I was wondering if the point of the ad was that he needed to drink JW to get over his stage fright , which would be fucked up lol.... Keitel is basically selling himself as a "Paris Mc Hilton " product , instead of who he is as an actor, guess it shows what a load of bollocks the whole game is....
And both of them when successful, make lots of money, and start selling their own stuff (i.e. Deepak Chopra, endocrinologist, Brian Weiss, psychiatrist). They make or made money for themselves, and very few would criticize them for doing so. I don't hate advertising, it's just a market reality. Thanks to market, we can consume some good stuff (JW is one of them), and many people have got jobs. And even so distant persons from each other can exchange thoughts about it! I'd invite you a glass, lol!
As for the alcohol propaganda, that's each individual's personal decision. What it really draws my attention, is that this clip is what I could call a "micro-course" of self help, and I value that. I'm not joking, I've put to practice what he says, in the last 24hs, and it has worked for me! The American consciousness is historically based on the puritans' background, once they were kicked out of England. It's terrible but allowed by the law? It's all right. It's ok but legally forbidden? A sin
Many people are paid to say messages to others, and that isn't an issue: professors, doctors, even, psychiatrists and police officers are paid to convey certain ideas that are aimed at others. As for the alcohol, the company sells its product, not the idea of getting drunk or becoming an alcoholic. Those fatal flaws are the ultimate person's individual choice. Therefore (IMO), it's up to each individual to grab what interest them.
I believe nothing about what he says there contradicts his former statement you quote. The message is about overcoming inner fears, getting a hold of oneself in hard situations, and finding a way out of outside-threatening fears. If the man is paid for saying such things, let him be happy, the message's core is highly valuable as a life precept, don't you think?
Was like 8 years old when a watch this ad for the first time, in spanish, was so awesome that then and now that a hear the real version i think it is most exiting, -you will to learn to overcome your fear , or spend your life in the wings... REMARKABLE!!!
Diageo plan to shut the Johnnie Walker bottling plant in Kilmarnock and in doing so will rip the heart out of the town.Removing Johnnie Walker from its historic home.Help the fight to STOP this happening.
Amazing how Harvey is capable of delivering such an intense performance and an inspiring speech in less than one minute. This is why he is and always will remain my hero.
He`s one of my favorite actors and all that, but this is so totally uncalled for. Guess the financial motive took precedent over other factors, but I think ol' Harv's just doing this for promotion anyway...
where i can find the diologue of hervey keitel. what exactcly he say: you either learn to overcome your fears or spend yor live...?? or you will learn to overcome your fears or spend your live... ???
"You either learn to overcome your fears of spend your life on(in) the wings." That's what I heard, possibly referring to the wings as the sideline, where you're not actually doing anything you're just watching life pass you by....
Harvey can do anything, even a commercial for Whiskey and make it stand out, he's got the walk and the talk and he walks it like he talks it, I had not seen this video before, but I do recognize a couple of stills from it, thanks for posting it!
Johnny Walker is my drink.
