zomg Jon went all out on FF8 i liked it, its not my favourite FF (the series ended at FF9 all the other ones are garbage), the magic system is kinda off at first but once you get used to i its pretty awsome and complex, i guess its one of those games that the more you play the more you like it. @DemonScoot It was darker in the sense that the game was visually dark. Looks like someone went nuts with the desaturation tool. Still was a rather fun game though.
@lbns2 twilight princess wasn't very good in a gameplay standard. the game was too easy, hyrule was too big and lifeless, and the gameplay was bland. I played BOTH versions of TP and i 100% the wii version. and i say that there are too many sidequests involving finding a shit ton of things! Its not a bad zelda game in anyway just not as good as the other 3d titles

I think the original Sonic is overrated cuz the sequels did better...except for CD. CD is overrated cuz 2,3, and Knuckles were better. Not to mention, the Spin Dash sucked, and it was Amy's debut(Screw HER!). Screwattack made it the Top Best Sonic game...AND LEFT ADVENTURE 2 OUT(at least it was on the best Dreamcast games list)

I hate Link to the Past, and Link's Awakening to be honest. The game gives you absouloutley no prompt of what to do next! I boight ALTTP on Virtual Console 2 years ago and to this day can't figure out how to open the second dungeon because I'm too stubborn to look st a walkthrough. And also, they couldn't even get Link's hair right.

I recently got into Zelda, so nostalgia isn't something I can factor into opinions on them. The only reason Majora's Mask is my favorite is because it was the first one I finished. I have played A Link to the Past far enough to tell that it doesn't deserve all the credit. I thought it may just be that I was used to the more modern games, but I couldn't get into the game play after MM. I think people give it so much credit because the graphics and game play were a huge step up from the first two.

I didn't play Link to the past when I was growing up, and when I finally tried it, it wasnt that great to me, because I have had the pleasure to play other Games, including other Zelda games.
If its that question of one of the most dearest Zelda games to you, then I salute you, its your favorite, although mine happens to be Links Awakening DX, that's my "growing up with" Zelda, which I find to have more creative dungeons than Link to the past.

Man, why did JonTron delete this? I'm actually kind of amazed that I agree 100% with *this whole list*. Except for Zelda 3... which I think is overrated because it's honestly *not* that great a game. When I was a kid, I grew bored with it and traded it in for Lemmings, which I enjoyed more. ;) For me, Zelda 2 is the best of the series due to its innovative RPG elements and extreme difficulty.

I have to agree with hi sentiment on 'Link to the Past'. Even going on a strictly 2-d biased; it was only marginally better than 'Link's Awakening' and outright trumped by 'Minish Cap'.

when i saw zelda pop up on #1, i thought you meant ALL zelda games. my first initial reaction was, "AAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHEEEAAARRR!!! YOUR A MONSTER!!!! then you said "link to the past" and i was like, "oh, okay" honestly, i don't like skyward sword. it's just the graphics, they're so, smudgy.
I don't like the term nostalgia blind, because frankly it doesn't apply to everyone, first time I played Link to the Past was 2 years ago? and it's one of my top 5 zelda's. Hell I played Zelda II this year and it's my second fav under majora's mask. As for golden eye, I played it when I was younger, but didn;t actually start appriciating it till now, the controls are wierd but it makes it feel different, I just like it for what it is.

Melee is the greatest hands down! that is why actual MLG coverage on the game actual real competitive gamers played the game, i know practically all the amazing gamers of the Melee era. Brawl never really got any major MLG coverage, i think it was in MLG for like 1 or maybe 2 years, but it never mad as much of an impact on gamers as Melee did. AND FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKK JONTRON! I totally agree with link to the past. I honestly think the first zelda better. The combat was made in an almost gridlike way, so you have to figure out a good way to approach an enemy without getting killed. Link to the Past had a rider sword range and ehh...

You want to know what's REALLY overrated? The word overrated. You can't take two steps on the internet without finding someone whining about how X isn't as good as everyone else says it is. Well... I suppose I either don't agree with the games or I haven't played the games. The one I have the most trouble with is Metroid Prime, at least for the reasons he gave. That game is one of my favorites, and I do indeed think it may be the best Metroid game. ALttP is still my second favorite Zelda, but eh. I understand what he means.

metroid prime IS supoosed to have a lonely atmospheric feel and the slower gameplay was made for exploration. its not a shooter!!! the reasons jon tron listed as him not liking it are the reasons people consider it to be amazing! he even said it in the beggining that he was never too fond of the metroid series. super metroid being considered the best is like u said about golden eye and link to the past. there are other games that play better and its a nostalgia thing. prime wasnt overated.
I can understand a lot of this, although many of these games are never spoken of anymore, at least not where I am. I personally love Final Fantasy VIII, but I agree it's not the best in the series. As for 007, I agree it's very overrated. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I think so many people talk about it so greatly because of nostalgia. Babby's first FPS, anyone?
Sonic's rating I don't understand. I almost never hear anything about sonic games anymore, let alone the first one. I do understand the rest and completely agree, ESPECIALLY FUCKING LINK TO THE PAST.
I REAAALLY expected Reach to be here and I have reasons; Class systems, fall damage, nerfing the pistol, the weapons (Plasma launch = do not want) among other things. It was made for the people who griped about minor things in a big way, and for that, I dont think its better than its previous titles.
@sintheious Every current Zelda game gets unreasonable hate thrown at it until the next one comes out, to which everyone will then hold it to high regards. For example, when Windwaker came out, people said it sucked, was terrible, and was too far a departure from the series. The Twilight Princess came out, and everyone turned around and said they loved WW, while heaping vitriol on TP. The same thing happened with Skyward Sword.
@DemonScoot I agree aside from the Skyward Sword part. I don't know what you were smoking but everyone and their decomposing grandmother had nothing but good to say about that game and still do. It was the first in a while to break that chain, though.

When he mentioned Fable, that managed to tick me off more than some of the other games on the list. I'm not trying to say Fable is a good game by today's standards, but I still like it more than its successors, if you can call them that. I just thought that he should've refined the choice to maybe Fable II or III, but it's his opinion if he wants to heap the entire franchise in there. I agree with the number one pick. I do love the game, it's a classic and legendary to most, if not all. Is it better than OoT, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, or Twilight Princess? Well, Twilight Princess, yes, but the rest? No.

Call of duty is not overrated. You know why? Because half of the people who talk about it say its horrible. How can it be overrated when so many people hate it? I have been with the franchise since call of duty 2 (not modern warfare 2) and I hate what activision has done to such a solid game. They milked it to the point of mw3 being an overpriced expansion pack to mw2. Still, its not overrated. A series with this much hate can't be, so quit complaining that COD isn't on here.
This kid's opinions on older games are pretty much worthless. He said he was 7 or 8 when Goldeneye came out, lol. He should stick with reviewing games that he had the cognitive capacity to understand when they were released. I do agree that Goldeneye is severely overrated though, I was playing 32 player Quake1 Team Fortress when that game came out. Also, FF9 is more overrated than FF8, and OoT is the most overrated Zelda game BY FAR.

I didn't play Link to the past when I was growing up, and when I finally tried it, it wasnt that great to me, because I have had the pleasure to play other Games, including other Zelda games.
If its that question of one of the most dearest Zelda games to you, then I salute you, its your favorite, although mine happens to be Links Awakening DX, that's my "growing up with" Zelda, which I find to have more creative dungeons than Link to the past.

Man, why did JonTron delete this? I'm actually kind of amazed that I agree 100% with *this whole list*. Except for Zelda 3... which I think is overrated because it's honestly *not* that great a game. When I was a kid, I grew bored with it and traded it in for Lemmings, which I enjoyed more. ;) For me, Zelda 2 is the best of the series due to its innovative RPG elements and extreme difficulty.
But I digress. All in all, this video is awesome, and should totally still be on NormalBoots!

Some of us enjoy Sonic's style, we they shouldn't change it because it's "different". What do you want it to be, a Mario clone? That's boring. when i saw zelda pop up on #1, i thought you meant ALL zelda games. my first initial reaction was, "AAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHEEEAAARRR!!! YOUR A MONSTER!!!! then you said "link to the past" and i was like, "oh, okay" honestly, i don't like skyward sword. it's just the graphics, they're so, smudgy.

I don't like the term nostalgia blind, because frankly it doesn't apply to everyone, first time I played Link to the Past was 2 years ago? and it's one of my top 5 zelda's. Hell I played Zelda II this year and it's my second fav under majora's mask. As for golden eye, I played it when I was younger, but didn;t actually start appriciating it till now, the controls are wierd but it makes it feel different, I just like it for what it is.

Melee is the greatest hands down! that is why actual MLG coverage on the game actual real competitive gamers played the game, i know practically all the amazing gamers of the Melee era. Brawl never really got any major MLG coverage, i think it was in MLG for like 1 or maybe 2 years, but it never mad as much of an impact on gamers as Melee did. AND FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKK JONTRON! WHEN I SAW METROID PRIME, I FLIPPED OUT!...and kinda died inside that someone actually hates this game, its amazing!

I totally agree with link to the past. I honestly think the first zelda better. The combat was made in an almost gridlike way, so you have to figure out a good way to approach an enemy without getting killed. Link to the Past had a rider sword range and ehh...

You want to know what's REALLY overrated? The word overrated. You can't take two steps on the internet without finding someone whining about how X isn't as good as everyone else says it is. Well... I suppose I either don't agree with the games or I haven't played the games. The one I have the most trouble with is Metroid Prime, at least for the reasons he gave. That game is one of my favorites, and I do indeed think it may be the best Metroid game. ALttP is still my second favorite Zelda, but eh. I understand what he means.

metroid prime IS supoosed to have a lonely atmospheric feel and the slower gameplay was made for exploration. its not a shooter!!! the reasons jon tron listed as him not liking it are the reasons people consider it to be amazing! he even said it in the beggining that he was never too fond of the metroid series. super metroid being considered the best is like u said about golden eye and link to the past. there are other games that play better and its a nostalgia thing. prime wasnt overated.

I can understand a lot of this, although many of these games are never spoken of anymore, at least not where I am. I personally love Final Fantasy VIII, but I agree it's not the best in the series. As for 007, I agree it's very overrated. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I think so many people talk about it so greatly because of nostalgia. Babby's first FPS, anyone?

I REAAALLY expected Reach to be here and I have reasons; Class systems, fall damage, nerfing the pistol, the weapons (Plasma launch = do not want) among other things. It was made for the people who griped about minor things in a big way, and for that, I dont think its better than its previous titles.

@sintheious Every current Zelda game gets unreasonable hate thrown at it until the next one comes out, to which everyone will then hold it to high regards. For example, when Windwaker came out, people said it sucked, was terrible, and was too far a departure from the series. The Twilight Princess came out, and everyone turned around and said they loved WW, while heaping vitriol on TP. The same thing happened with Skyward Sword.

When he mentioned Fable, that managed to tick me off more than some of the other games on the list. I'm not trying to say Fable is a good game by today's standards, but I still like it more than its successors, if you can call them that. I just thought that he should've refined the choice to maybe Fable II or III, but it's his opinion if he wants to heap the entire franchise in there. I just think that Fable doesn't get enough praise nowadays to warrant an over rated status.

Call of duty is not overrated. You know why? Because half of the people who talk about it say its horrible. How can it be overrated when so many people hate it? I have been with the franchise since call of duty 2 (not modern warfare 2) and I hate what activision has done to such a solid game. They milked it to the point of mw3 being an overpriced expansion pack to mw2. Still, its not overrated. A series with this much hate can't be, so quit complaining that COD isn't on here.

This kid's opinions on older games are pretty much worthless. He said he was 7 or 8 when Goldeneye came out, lol. He should stick with reviewing games that he had the cognitive capacity to understand when they were released. I do agree that Goldeneye is severely overrated though, I was playing 32 player Quake1 Team Fortress when that game came out. Also, FF9 is more overrated than FF8, and OoT is the most overrated Zelda game BY FAR.
