  • I tried this method and guess what......

  • This isn't really the way to do it. Take a look at some of the videos produced by professional trainers. These get soldered all at once in less than 1 min.

  • Dude, awesome job, yesterday i was soldering FT232 and that was nightmare ;)

  • coincido con Rafaslim

con un poco de flux, mitad de tiempo y mejor...

  • Trabajo de mono, usa flux y suelda los pines del tirón.

  • I tried soldering an SSOP chip today and really screwed it up. Where do you get that ultra-fine solder from? I got a 1mm thick solder and it kept coming off in globules which were hard to control. Ended up throwing everything away in rage.

  • Don't drink a pot of coffee prior to mounting one of those chips. ;-)

  • Easier said than done.

I've been soldering for 40 years and can't do these by hand -- even with smallest tip and smallest guage.

    SSOP sucks.

  • is too Complication , using the solding toal(Knife type) no need to solder each pin , the hold process can finish 20 second. if you want i can teach you how to do it easy way

  • Dude I am totally working on a project with the same chip. Ive never soldered ssop and the project has 2. How easy is it to fry the chip? whats the best temp for the iron? Thanks

  • Don't worry about frying the chip. If you spend more than a couple of minutes soldering take a break and let it cool down. The best way I think for this chip is to use a large tip and solder all the pins without worrying about bridging the pins. Then use some desoldering braid to remove excess solder. The temperature depends on your solder I think I use 600-700F for 60/40 and 700+ for Pb free solder.

  • you can very good solder - 5 points

maybe you have to take a high resolution picture from the SMD SSOP-28 in the vid - :)

  • Tinning/cleaning you iron tip over the board is a NO NO. I can't believe that was done on a "How-To" video! LMAO!!! Maybe a "How-Not-To" Video!

  • Pretty good technique. I am still learning how to do this, but I´m using a 0.6mm tip, which is the only one I can afford. Thanks for this video, really helped me out learning how to do it!

  • what softwares u use to create the PCB pls help me !@!@!

  • Altium Protel DXP is a common software program to do it ;). You will have to sit through a few hours of video tutorials on how to use i tho

  • Perhaps the heavy metals in the solder cause brain damage that leads to childish, aggressive behavior, as witnessed by the inane, "I can piss further than you" comments here. While modern electronic technologies represent the height of societal achievement, individuals who perform the design and assembly of these sophisticated devices are often insecure, rude asses with no manners or appreciation of other peoples' efforts.

  • No, you are! :p

  • Good to see

  • where's the love?

  • By the way, SOIC is very easy to solder. I have done thousands with regular solder and iron. SOIC does not require special equipment. Any one say otherwise must be a "special" person. And that is not a complement.

  • This is the wrong example on how to solder IC. We Hong Kong People can solider this type of Ic in 1 min.

Solidering pin by pin is the most stupid approach.

He should apply a patch of solder and drag across the pin quickly.

  • Thanks for your comment. Please post a video. I also use your method of using flux and simply dragging a ball/pool of solder across the pins.

  • Yes, I agree. The guy should use solder paste

  • Damn dude, you're a God at the surface mount IC's.
