  • I also have a 2002 honda civic sedan i just got a sony cdx-gt350mp and im looking to installing it my self. What harness should i buy? Pleae help (my first car and first time trying to install a deck)

  • ive heard that if you remove the factory stereo you might lose the keyless entry feature... anyone know if this is true?

  • @ixninja680xi No. I don't think so. For me keyless entry is working fine. No problem at all. I can confidently say that at least for Honda 2002 Civic taking the factory installed stereo doesn't affect keyless entry. I'm not sure about other models. But I don't think it will affect any model. That's my feeling though. Hope it helps.

  • Where can u get the wiring diagram

  • Hi man, great video!!! Do you know if i can install in this Car a 7'' 2 Din LCD screen???

  • @maestrosVIP I don't think 2 din LCD would fit. At first, I wanted to install 2 DIN LCD screen. But when I searched there was nothing that would fit in this car. Let me put it this way. There might be something for sure but most of the models don't fit in this car for sure. Check crutchfield to see any model that fits this car. And thanks for the comment.

  • @sreedharmanchu thank you for your time and for the fast response!!!

  • looks like you need some wire cutters and why would you use wire nuts

  • @MrReefurcheefur Just thought it would be easier with the nuts in case I wanted to do something with the radio later. Luckily, until now I haven't had any problems like loose connections, etc. It's just personal choice.

  • thank you so much! it really helped me! but did u do the wiring your self or did u have some one els do it. it looks really confusing to me but please respond.

  • @ChuvalasTech2014 Hey sorry I took a while to respond. I got the wiring diagram for the receiver. It looks confusing but if you pay attention it's not that difficult to understand. More over the wires are color coded and it makes your life easy for sure. The only advice I could give you from my experience is that spend little bit time on it and I am sure that you will figure it out. Good luck.

  • hey bro.. i have a deck already in my car .. and i want to take it out and replace it with a new one.. how do i do that? do i need a release key or w.e or can i use a flat screw driver?

  • @DatReggaeKing I think you can take it out using either one. If you are going to replace with new one, then I suggest you to try with flat blade screw driver in case you don't have release key. Most probably, yo won't have any problem. The only way to figure out is by trying everything out. Good luck. Wish I could be more specific. Sorry.

  • thank u this is what i wass looking for :)

  • Is this possible with the original dash kit? Or does it not fit?

  • @Flysohighx21 As far as I remember it didn't fit the original dash kit.

  • Awesome video

  • although he doesn't say this but don't forget to push the tabs on top of as well as the bottom of the trim sleeve.

  • hey thanks man great job :D

  • Thanks man! I just did all this in my 2005 Honda, without all the tools, and it took about 2 hours, and a few scratches to the temperature control panel. AND I didn't have the correct wiring harness. The video is a big help!

  • Thanks for the video. I already know how to wire car stereos, but I recently bought a 2005 Civic Si and had no idea where to start taking apart the dash. You saved me a lot of time, I probably would have had the whole dash out before finding the two 8mm screws underneath.

    Thanks again!

  • Thanks very much for the great instruction video.

  • Thanks from Chile!! You rock!!

  • YES! YES I INSTALLED MY CD PLAYER UPSIDE DOWN! lol

  • where did you put the GND wire

  • THANK U MAN....MADE GUD USE OF DAT VIDEO!!!!!

  • the videos did help... thanks... :)

do you know if kenwood and sony use te same harness?

I currently have a Kenwood player and need to change it, but would like to avoid having to match 2 harness again... do you know if the harness used by sony and kenwood (and other brands) are the same? is there any standard?

  • @GiDEZeL Sorry Man. I'm not sure whether they use the same harness. One end it would be same, but I'm not sure about the player side end. Generally no company gives you harness that would fit for specific car. I mean you can use same harness for every player as long as it's not a factory installed player. I suggest you give it a try with what ever you have right now. At least this way you know that you haven't bought an extra one in case the old ones works. Good luck.

  • Sreedhar! What great detailed instructions! Just the thing I was looking for! I have a 2001 Civic (not so different from 2002) and zeroed on a sony xplod system. I did not want advanced features like bluetooth etc... I just wanted a very basic system with mp3 capability and aux input. The set costs around $70 - but the installation costs almost the same amount - which I felt was too much money. Thanks for your video- i shall try installing it myself.

  • alway ground the black to the chassie it will not give you engine noise

  • @AcuraLegend1994 Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try to do that this weekend. Thanks once again.

  • Thanks a lot for making this video! I'm gonna try this on my civic tomorrow.

  • @Jiahao12 Good luck with the installation.

  • Excellent video Sridhar. Helped a lot. I did the same for 03Civic with Sony MEX-BT2700. Thanks .

  • @kvenubabu Thanks Venu.

  • Very usefull thank you very much!!

  • Nice an Xplod Just put one in my 89 f150

  • good video thanks

  • Thank you very much my friend. This video saved me from a $50 installation.

  • @guitarklown I'm glad to hear this. Just like you wrote, they charge lot of money even for installing some simple cables. Recently, my friend wanted to change a cable and they asked $60.00. It's just crazy.

  • Thank you.. u have been very helpful..:)

  • thanks ur vid helped me alot with the cd player but now i have to replace all the speakers. would it be to much to ask u to make a vid of how to take the door speakers out and the back ones to??

  • Hello, I'm sorry I don't own that car. If I that was mine, I would have definitely done it. I'm sorry I can't be of help here. I hope you find way to do it. I'll try to look for manual and if I find one, I'll send you. Good luck.

  • @sreedharmanchu I have the same problem...but i dont know how to remove the doors panels..:(...

  • @metalchip0123 Yes i dont how to remove my door panels from my 2002 civic

    thanks for the question!

  • Wonderful Sridhar! Earlier I have installed Security & keyless entry system on Civic (OEM parts so simple interface). But when it comes to CD I got it done at circuit city. This video gave me so much confidence that I can even replace my own car radio in future. Thanks a lot.

  • Very helpful my man. Now I feel like I can change the world!

  • you make it look so easy!!

  • Love how detailed the video is! Thanks :D

  • You da man!!! Thanks a lot!!! I'm doing an install today!!!

  • Thanks so much. This really helped me out. Made my install in under an hour possible. Great edits and segmented tasks. Very well thought out. I got USB hookup as well and now I'm going to look for something to mount the plug in the push outs by the DC adaptor.

  • I am glad to hear that it helped you. Thank you for writing me this appreciative comment. Good luck with setting up USB hookup.

  • Nice editing manchu. I wonder who that friend is who has spent 300 dollars on the "stupid iphone connector" :)
