  • sounds good man

  • hello can you give me the chords of the second part too well! I have too have a J 45 thank you in advance happy birthday Year End

  • great hands

  • Thanks a lot! It's not too late!!!

  • I've been considering a higher end acoustic and I've been trying to decide between a Martin and a Gibson. I thought Martin was ahead, but this video has left me unsure!

  • No problem of sticky neck with mine - great play

  • That chuggin's nice at the end.

  • hello with strings are u using please?

  • Have you ever found your guitar neck to be sticky? I've just bought a standar J-45, it sounds awesome but neck is sticky after playing for minutes.

    Any advice? Thanks

  • What are the names of every song?

Or where can I get a tab of these?

    Thanks!

  • Absolutely love my J-45.

  • changing the pins do make a difference some guitars there is more difference than others but I have a J-45 and changed the pins and it did help

  • What will make the guitar ring better is to replace the plastic bridge pins with ebony

  • @georyans

did that years ago... and really its not making any difference

  • @themaninme If its got an adjustable bridge the only cure is to have it replaced with a real bridge. It will no longer be original but the sound will amaze you. And try Elixer strings.

  • Finally someone doing a good demo..

    You're a good player.

  • your great !

  • is this the guitar? it SOUNDS like it is!

  • I've tryied with 10, 11, and 12 strings and my choice is the '11...

  • my two cents: if you're a singer and your voice is the lead instrument, get the j-45. if you're not a singer and the guitar is your lead instrument, get the martin

  • thanks

  • is that the Modern Classic, or the standard. Musicians freind shows having both of them in stock. i didnt know that. whats the diff between the two?

  • they are both the same thing. the modern classic is just the old stock they need to get rid of - thats why its cheaper. plus , the new standard comes with nickel grover tuners and silver Gibson Logo

its 2008 model against 2009 - thats all

  • i have that guitar sitting in my lap right now, it was my grandpas

  • You give a great sound interpretation to this guitar, I have the same and is one of the best acustic around....no way....

  • What's the style are you playing at the beginning (finger picking)? I wish I could see it in slow motion. Is there any video or books available out there to learn it? Thanks for playing. It's really good!

  • yes. its folk style fingerpicking.

there are countless videos here on youtube that can help you with it

  • @abolit I know it's a year late, but I thought I'd recommend searching for Justin Sandercoe Folk. He's done a lot of good lessons and his two folk picking videos will point you in the right direction.

  • well ive watched this and a few videos hundreds of times. so i went to nashville to find out on my own. the winner is the Gibson Southern Jumbo ( J45 with fancy neck). SJ and j45 same guitar. anyways the martin was cool but just didnt have the " backporch" sound of the Gibsons. but all sweet guitars

  • I have to modify my review. Today I played a HD28 and J45 side by side, and the HD28 was the nicest, most amazing sounding guitar I've ever played. My last comment was about the D18. The HD28 is a whole different animal. I still love the J45, but I have never played anything like that HD28. I now know my dream acoustic!

  • I played a J45 and a D18 side by side last week, and I can't deny the Martin's amazing sound. I would take the J45 for personal reasons, but sound-wise the Martin had the edge. Of course, this was two brand new guitars, and each one is unique, so who knows if you can really say one is absolutely BETTER as a rule. Both played like butter. The Martin sounded a little fuller and warmer. But the Gibson is just so beautiful, and not far off in sound.

  • Sounds great... love that Gibson sound. I actually prefer 13's on mine; with the shorter scale, they don't feel too heavy and they really thicken up the sound.

  • Sounds sweet. Cant beat gibson acoustics. Martins are fine but they dont have the soul a Gibson puts out. Nice job.

  • To hagtar12.. I agree with you about Gibson guitars. If you get a chance though try out the Martin D-15 Mahagony it has a beautiful tone.

  • Sounds just like acoustic guitar should! I own a martin d 28 and a gibson j45 as much as i love the martin the gibson gets played more and holds my heart ..thanks for posting!

  • do you hide your smokes in your knee?

  • great playing man! The Gibson sounds good, but i still thing the Martin is stronger...especially on the bluegrass licks u did. both great guitars though

  • Magnifique ! =D

J'adore votre guitare & vous jouez très bien! bravo ! =D

    ---

    Beautiful !

    I love your guitar ;D

    Sweet playing !

  • What are you playing in the very beginning ?

  • Really the only solution is to have one of each.

  • sweet guitar and sweet playin !!!

  • My head says Martin, but my heart cries J-45! That sound... makes you feel all loosey goosey inside - so expressive, so dynamic, so much soul.

  • then go J45;)

  • i go both, actually...

  • Sounds absolutely totally and completely glorious. I'd take the Gibson over the Martin any day.

  • Sounds wonderful. I love the J-45 sound for everything, and they are much cooler than Martins. You sound great.
