here's the thing: Ryan Reynolds is perfect for Deadpool. he was able to show this in the portions of the movie where he was still wade, in that brief period he captured the essence of the character quite well. the fact that they made a bunch of stupid shit up for that awful, awful wolverine film wasn't reynolds' fault. in fact with something good to work with- you know, like an actual director, a good story, and a good script- most fans are confident reynolds is still by far the best choice.
i dont under stand why they made deadpool have the laser shooting thing because he never has had that in the comic books as far as I know unless he had it before he escaped the weapon X factor.

I can't wait for the Deadpool movie. :D I get excited just thinking of it. I'm not upset about what they did to him in Origins either. I would think he'd get a lot of the 'improvements' removed, if possible anyway and, to be honest, I thought them stitching his mouth shut was hilarious (and to be honest, I'd be more surprised if they HADN'T done something to stop the talking while they had the chance.

Gambit has been my favorite since the super nintendo xmen. They need to put more of him in, but i guess its not the case. He had a substantial part but just not enough card throwing. Thats all i was dissapointed about. But the movie was great overall
With each comic book movie coming to life better than predessor's we get good things and bad things. So far the X-Men and newer Marvel movies based off of comics have been pretty good if not great depending on which movie you're watching. This new one looks good, i'm currently playing the PS3 version of the movie until i get a chance to watch it in theaters, at least they have Remy's cajun accent and Ryan Renolds as Deadpool he's the perfect man for the job such a smart ass in any movie he's in!
I know that, for sure, Deadpool is getting his own movie. I'm not sure what the verdict is on Gambit but they're making another Wolverine- maybe he'll be in that.

One thing that really angered me, is that the chronology in this film is not quite right in some aspects, cosidering Gambit is supposed to be Rogue's boyfriend and this film is supposed to be before the other three and Rogue is only in the other three...

Gambit was in the movie for like 20 seconds...and he didnt even make sense while in the movie. Kirpa's right man, the differences (though not as slight as one would hope) aren't as bad as they could have been. Deadpool still gets all fucked up, Gambit is still Cajun. I mean really what else would you have them do. Think about the cartoon, (the original not the crap they had a couple years back) that strays SO far from the comics. But still a great cartoon. Just enjoy it for what it is man.
Yeah, I get that the movies were meant to be different from the comics. But you don't alter fundamental traits of characters.
A movie adaption should just be a side-chapter, when it comes to comics. Not canon, but some alternate story.
Don't change their entire backstory. Don't screw with fundamental character traits like how thick their accents are. Don't give them new, rubbish powers that make no sense for the character. Otherwise it just seems like it's being dumbed down; which it is.

I thought I made it somewhat clear, but I guess I didn't. I related the movie to the comics, and mentioned ultimate x-men because as with ultimate and various other comics, different aspects of characters and storyline change, sometimes dramatically. That is the reference in which I was getting at. You can't argue the plot because it's not replicating anything from comics with intent of doing so.

I can't wait for the Deadpool movie. :D I get excited just thinking of it. I'm not upset about what they did to him in Origins either. I would think he'd get a lot of the 'improvements' removed, if possible anyway and, to be honest, I thought them stitching his mouth shut was hilarious (and to be honest, I'd be more surprised if they HADN'T done something to stop the talking while they had the chance.
As for Gambit: I've always loved him and always will. <3

ok sorry but this is how i feel...ok so i never being a comic reader or a xmen movie fan till this one came and i actually watch them to "get" what i should know....why is it such a big deal about deadpool or gambit...you know what it might not go exactly to the comics but what book/comic/video game adaptation in movie does...seriously if you dont like it then go watch something else they will never get it the same because nothing is as good as the original its hollywood take on popular things

Gambit has been my favorite since the super nintendo xmen. They need to put more of him in, but i guess its not the case. He had a substantial part but just not enough card throwing. Thats all i was dissapointed about. But the movie was great overall

With each comic book movie coming to life better than predessor's we get good things and bad things. So far the X-Men and newer Marvel movies based off of comics have been pretty good if not great depending on which movie you're watching. This new one looks good, i'm currently playing the PS3 version of the movie until i get a chance to watch it in theaters, at least they have Remy's cajun accent and Ryan Renolds as Deadpool he's the perfect man for the job such a smart ass in any movie he's in!

Gambit's the best!
One thing that really angered me, is that the chronology in this film is not quite right in some aspects, cosidering Gambit is supposed to be Rogue's boyfriend and this film is supposed to be before the other three and Rogue is only in the other three...
That's the only thing that sucks, because I love the Gambit/Rogue relationship!

Gambit was in the movie for like 20 seconds...and he didnt even make sense while in the movie. He throws some cards, has a fight thats completely unneccassary and then just appears to break a bridge piece. Im starting to hate comic to movie translations again. For the love of God wheres the next Iron Man movie.

Guess that's why I look at it as a movie with nothing to base it off of and have a lot more enjoyment out of it. Now I definitely understand the problems you have with Weapon 11 (I refuse to say deadpool since he didn't talk and ...look at him) but one of the secret endings gives a little hope

Kirpa's right man, the differences (though not as slight as one would hope) aren't as bad as they could have been. Deadpool still gets all fucked up, Gambit is still Cajun. I mean really what else would you have them do. Think about the cartoon, (the original not the crap they had a couple years back) that strays SO far from the comics. But still a great cartoon. Just enjoy it for what it is man.

Yeah, I get that the movies were meant to be different from the comics. But you don't alter fundamental traits of characters.
A movie adaption should just be a side-chapter, when it comes to comics. Not canon, but some alternate story.
Don't change their entire backstory. Don't screw with fundamental character traits like how thick their accents are. Don't give them new, rubbish powers that make no sense for the character. Otherwise it just seems like it's being dumbed down; which it is.

Wade and Gambit are my favorite characters in the movie. Deadpool was sad because he was just controlled, no personality, which is what makes Dp so cool! I don't mind him being different, but if the Dp movie starts where Origins leaves off, he should get his mouthy sarcastic wit back!

I thought I made it somewhat clear, but I guess I didn't. I related the movie to the comics, and mentioned ultimate x-men because as with ultimate and various other comics, different aspects of characters and storyline change, sometimes dramatically. That is the reference in which I was getting at. You can't argue the plot because it's not replicating anything from comics with intent of doing so.
