  • One is made in America

The other is made in a sweatshop

    TAKE YOUR PICK.

  • So true! I cant visually notice the difference watching a bluray on my 1080p panel between a $150 1.5m HDMI monster cable and $50 "decent" 1.5m HDMI cable.

  • @CerberusAlliance A 1.5 meter HDMI should cost you five dollars, not fifty.

  • Expensive fiber cables won't make the light move faster. Just lube up the cheap ones and you'll be good to go!

  • He's right. I used to be a cable guy!

  • Lol now this is why I love Mass Effect.

However, not to be that guy, but efficiency is also to be considered. Attenuation can occur over long distances, so while in short distances it might not matter, over long distances, a cable that has better internal reflection and less scattering would actually work better than an inferior one. And yes, there are differences in quality for today's cables. Monster does actually shield their cables better than some other brands. Is it worth it, well... :)

  • actually, if you came up with a fiberoptic system that channeled the photons through de-pressurized hollow filaments or channels, it actually would be faster then current fiberoptics, since light actually moves slower through denser materials.

this system would likely require nanolathing as a tech prerequisite.

  • @SCARREDMIND i concur

  • justin bieber.

  • There may not be a difference in performance between the inexpensive and the expensive, but the expensive items usually have more quality parts and assembly, thus making the item more durable and thus last longer. You can replace the cheap ones several times for what you would only need to replace the expensive ones once, for example. If the cheap ones cost 1/4 of the expensive ones, and you replace the cheap ones 5 times in the lifetime of the expensive ones, the expensive ones are better.

  • @Foxxie0kun Most consumer electronics are made in the same factories these days. Especially with computer components. You don't always get what you pay for.

  • Lol.

  • "Twenty-one-eighty-three?! Why don't they just give you a slide rule and tell you to eyeball it."

  • nigger

  • @iugk Bitch.

  • in theory this is possible

  • Hahahahaha.

  • well c isn't constant (google variable speed of light).

light doesn't travel at the same speed when passing through two different obstacles so it could be a correct assumption by his customers but I doubt the difference when it comes to fiberoptics would have any effect what so ever.

  • @Nizzemancer depends on the materials

  • @Nizzemancer i think its the durability not the performance

  • Actually, cheap fiber optics probably use different material because they're so cheap, so light travels at a different speed! I am genius!

  • I love how after he says that Shepard pauses like he's thinking "FUCK you mean it doesn't?"

  • probably a reference to HDMI cables. I store they're $40, on ebay $4. No difference

  • Ugh... Stop the freaking console wars...

  • PC is better.

  • Bammmo Monster cables!

  • He just told the truth of our modern day products.

  • @Ginteru

    Gotta love Bioware.

  • wow fail

  • That's awesome.

  • What a smart-ass... He does have a point.

Mental note: must find a source of income to afford 360 + ME2...

  • @amazingdany get a pc. it's way better :p

  • @ertyqwer I got one except it's an antiquity called Dell Dimension 2400, really slow p.o.s.

  • @ertyqwer Way more expensive. Taking Tali screenshots isn't worth the cost of a decent PC compared to a 360, imo.

  • @KopperNeoman there are other things you can do with a PC, you know...

  • @amazingdany hope you didn't buy any of them yet the new xbox360 model came out less likely to red ring of death. Like my current Xbox...

  • @playtoyx The new 360 can't red ring at all. It only has green LEDs. That doesn't mean it can't fail, however. It hasn't been out nearly long enough to determine the failure rate.

  • @Mynameisnotooo

Yeah, I love MS's little trick there and how when they said it couldn't Red Ring, they didn't mean it lost any possibility of failure, they just took out the helpful and easy-to-identify red LEDs.
