you carb-phobic lunatics really make me feel a great deal of pity for you. A high carb, low fat diet has enormous nutritional value and will make you lean, trim and healthy. Your ludicrous fear of carbohydrates, the human bodies preferred source of calories and energy, will in the long term, hurt no one but your own self.
@ConcreteRiver I am amazed the hypocrisy and mental gymnastics within the same post. At one point, you have ad hominem attacks about us avoiding carbs, but in the next sentence you advocate avoiding fat. As for hurting myself or energy after 7 years of fantastic annual physicals and blood work and running many marathons, my health has never been better, or I have more energy than ever before.
Ok I made it! Tastes just like cauliflower of course, but the fact that it really was like eating mashed potatoes, it really was nice!! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Oh & the food processor was a MUST to get the consistency right! xo
@mrsmommy81 I really think the chicken bouillon and white pepper helps mask or alter the cauliflower taste, but then again it's been so long since I have had the original, I am probably not the best judge. I just know my non-LCer inlaws specifically ask for this recipe instead of regular mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. :-)
@mrsmommy81 The nutrition at the end of my videos is always per serving. Essentially I take the total Calories, carbs, fat, etc. for the recipe and then divide by the number of servings I would expect to get out of the recipe.
@bowulf Thanks for getting back to me so fast:) I will either make this tonight or tomorrow. I've had a really bad last couple of days. I've had to watch people eat cookies, Chinese food, chips, etc...all stuff I miss:( I really am missing carbs so much:(
@mrsmommy81 I know the frustration. I will tell you a good way to combat that is to make your own Chinese foods (faux fried rice or Teriyaki or Orange Chicken) or chips with dip. It might not be as easy as ordering takeout from the local Chinese place, but yours will taste just as good.
In fact, Orange chicken sounds really good right now -- maybe I will make that this weekend too.
@idrinkcatpee I don't think a blender would work as well. You could always use a hand masher for this. It might not be as smooth as the food processor.
I just made these tonight with roast beef... they were great! I plan to make them for Christmas dinner. Watching the video now while commenting I realized I left out the cream but it was still great!!
They were great and I felt like I was cheating. lol I tried doing Atkins like 9 years ago. I was doing pretty good, but this was back before I had a computer. Now it seems much easier with people like yourself and others putting all these recipes out there.I feel like I have a better chance of staying on it. Thanks again :)
I make these a lot but mine seem to come out softer than yours. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I cook the cauliflower in the microwave for 10 minutes, put it in the food processor and only add salt, pepper and some cream cheese and they still don't look as firm as yours.
The only thing I can suggest is that too much water from the cauliflower is getting into the final mix. You might try paper towels and pressing the extra water out. Try the bullion cube too. It may soak up some of the water as well.
Thanks for adding your kids, I think involving them would help them better to learn what your doing. And really, kids are funny. Not to mention we single parents would love to have ways to include our kids. I think what your doing is great but will be more rewarding (and entertaining) if you include your family. I hope no one see's this as a complaint, I just always worry about the rest of the family getting left behind when one member takes off on such an amazing journey. THANKS
Kids may be too young to do full-fledge ketogenic diet outside doctor care, but they are not too young to be taught the dangers of refined sugars and unlimited starches. Another great comment, thanks for watching!
I have tried these before, and they are yummy! I am post Gastric bypass, and this is a wonderful lifestyle, as long as I limit the fat..Thanks for you videos,I am Subscribing to your channel, so I can keep up with your vids!!
Thanks for subscribing, and these are a great way to add vegetables even for guys like myself who used to not like veggies. Good luck, and I hope to make another recipe video shortly.
Hi, just wanted to say that you are really helping me on my journey. I have just started eating like this again and the recipes are FANTASTIC. Makes it so much nicer to have all these ymmy things to eat. Keep them coming
2.5 c Cauliflower (fresh, cooked) 12.74 g carbohydrate - 6.4 g fiber = 6.34 net carb
4 T heavy cream 1.67 g carbohydrate
Butter and margarine have no carbs worth mentioning.
So net carbs for the whole bowl would be right around 8 net/impact carbs. Pretty good, especially since you'll probably get 4 servings out of it at about 2g each!
And as for all the questions about the calories, 2.5 Cups cauliflower is 71 calories, 4 tbsp. heavy cream is 200 calories and 4 tbsp. butter/margarine is 300ish? depending on the brand you use.
Soo the entire bowl of Fauxtatoes is only about 500 calories total.
thanks for this video. am an avid cook myself so I love checking out others' home cooking. you may want to check IPTVRecipes(dot)com. i came across it and just absolutely loved it! it's like no other home cooking community out here; very elegant, awesome tools. it looks like a cooking magazine come to life! i think IPTVRecipes(dot)com lets you upload up to 1GB per video. it looks like it'll broadcast videos on TV too. woohoo! ok enough from me, thanks again for your recipe!

Cool, it reminds me of how vegans try to replace meat with soy or whatever, except this is cooler.
I am wondering though, wouldn't this be a lot of calories?
