I was in the Marines for 7 and a half years and have many gay friends that served with us. In fact one is one of the bravest men I know!

I have nothing against this if...the military is willing to separate gays and lesbians in showering situations. I would not approve my son or daughter showering with someone of the opposite sex without their permission. I would not want them to be looked at in that way in a situation that would be uncontrolled by their free will and choice.

2) We in Scandinavia had all the gay rights you get now, but in the 90's. So it was just a small step to take for our politicians to declare gender neutral marriage now in 2009. I was stunned to learn that it was illegal to be gay in many states in US. until 2001, and that you cant serve in the military... With that in mind your President is taking big steps. He is preparing America for gender neutral marriages, so that it can be introduced in a few years, he is doing a good job!
